Food and service were amazing, I didn’t get why there was a DJ though
We had a fantastic meal with great service. Sitting outside, the street noise was quite loud.
Delicious food from appetizers to dessert.
This was my first time to visit La Villa for Brunch. Had excellent service and the food was fantastic. Craft drinks were spot on. I would recommend La Villa to anyone.
Been same place about a year ago and had better French feeling then. Food have changed and it is good but somehow old food I liked better.
Un chef adorable, des plats délicieux et un service très agréable! Nous reviendrons avec grand plaisir
Food was amazing!
I just returned from a trip to Paris and Nice which is the Riviera. Food there of course is fabulous, this chef definitely meets the standard and surpasses. His risotto was remarkably creamy and the truffles made it even more special. Grilled octopus tender and delicious, and the lemon tart was dreamy.
Definitely will return and highly recommend this lovely place with exquisite food, ambiance, and service. C’est si bon!!!!!
Quite unusual cuisine and very good. Perhaps a bit pricey. Very noisy but outside seating available, if the indoor noise is an issue.
Terrific food and great wine list. Loved the fresh oysters and truffle butter. Tri-tip sensational as was the octopus. Great new restaurant.
Alex took very good care of us. Food and atmosphere were quite good. We will be back!!
My husband met the owner and grew up where he is from. We loved our experience and the ambiance.
We went for Mother’s Day brunch. The pastries, truffled eggs and tomato carpaccio were perfectly delicious. The servers brought everything at once, a bit much for what should have been a leisurely experience. Otherwise it was great!
Great for brunch. It was a family everyday dine and we were thrilled!
Amazing dinner, the best Oysters and Chef in Houston, He knows the best about cooking and how to communicate his passion, I highly recommend this restaurant if you are looking for a true and french mediteraneen experience.
Delicious food. Outstanding little gem of a place .
Great food and service. Coming back soon.
This is a wonderful restaurant. The noise level is perfect, not to loud but not super quiet. The ambiance in the restaurant is very tastefully done. The cocktails, especially the French Lavender, are delicious and refreshing. We had three starters, the oysters, white asparagus and the sea bass civche. All were deliciously prepared. The chef's specialty is truffle, so if you like truffle go here! The truffle is subtle and not overwhelming. My table had the duck, truffle risotto and the sea bass for entrees. All were delicious and perfectly proportioned. We will definitely be back.
A promising start rapidly became disappointing. Confused, slow service and overpriced mediocre food means we will not return.
We went to La Villa for lunch before going to the Van Gogh exhibit at HMFA. The atmosphere is lovely and the service was attentive, but the food was such a disappointment. Ordered a half dozen oysters on the half-shell but we could not finish them because they were so briny. Seriously, you're in Houston; serve Texas Gulf Oysters which are arguably the best oysters in the world. The shredded pork on the sandwich which our waiter was proud to say had been cooked for 7 hours was cooked a good 5 hours too long. The taste and texture was closer to shredded pulpwood. Thank goodness for the sandwich bread, which was delightful and flavorful and saved our dismal meal, but who really wants just bread for lunch?
Nice place to go for a glass of wine before moving on for your meal.
Perhaps the dinner experience is better than that of lunch. Sadly, we won't be back to find out.
Super nice place. Please keep it that way.
Excellent food and atmosphere but the service is really poor and unacceptable for that restaurant. It’s a shame due to the level of the chef.
6:30 reservation, they sat us upstairs in an empty room which has a door leading to an outdoor space, way too many mosquitoes flying around my head, so first impression wasn’t great. The salad starter with “giant prawns” was 4 baby shrimp that tasted like frozen from a bag; the sea bass main dish was low quality fish, over cooked and not at all tasty. We also had chicken main which was nothing special, the veggies it came with were soggy, again tasted like they came from a frozen bag.
I wanted to like this restaurant, it’s cute and nice location but if I want good French food I’m afraid this place won’t do at all. I’d be surprised if others return as well. Disappointed:-(
I enjoyed an excellent risotto and glass of wine. The lemon tart was fabulous!
Very amazing experience for mom’s birthday, thank you for all the preparation.
Food’s quality is flawless, outstanding taste.
Warmly hospitality, and gorgeous environment.
Terrific experience and dinner.
Most enjoyable. The scrambled eggs with truffles were amazing, the lamb was tender and flavorful, the mashed potates were the perfect blend of whip and creamy texture with potato taste that was nor masked, perhaps a touch of too much butter. The desert was not to be imagined as to how good it was!
More than awesome!
Nice ambiance. Ok food. Nothing special. Service was great but overall, the restaurant is over priced for the food. No wow factor and should be at this price range.
La Villa is a five-star experience, and it is fast becoming our restaurant of choice. We have been three times--though not yet for brunch--to find it superior in a city fast becoming known for its restaurants.
This was my second dinner here with friends and I found it hard to believe that the experience could get better than our first visit since that was a 5-star. This go ‘round: Sea bass, gnocchi, and beurre blanc sauce were de-vine! We’ll definitely be back!
The food was very good, the only complain I have is that there was cilantro added to most of the entrees without being mentioned on the menu. This is a taste I cannot stand as does a certain percentage of the population. Food was well prepared and tasty although on the under-seasoned side which is OK. The desert (lemon tart) was excellent. The entire staff was very welcoming and friendly and our waiter was very helpful and patient at explaining the menu.
Carlos was very helpful and courteous and efficient. The food was good and the atmosphere was conducive to enjoying the dinner and company.
This place is an absolute gem. It just opened open about three months ago. Heard about it from a foodie friend. All three courses we ate were superb. My only hesitation with leaving this review is that once everybody finds out about this place it’sit’s going to be impossible to get a table :-) Fantastic food and service.
We had a terrific time at La Villa! It was our Anniversary and truly the evening was great on all levels. We love the decor and the ambiance is very cool! Our food was delicious, and presented beautifully. I wanted everything on the menu but it will give us the chance to go back. We enjoyed meeting Chef Kevin. The staff and management are very engaging as well. This was our 2nd time here and feel this is a truly a little hidden gem! The upstairs is great and will recommend for a Business Group Happy Hour!
There’s seems to preferential treatment of tables. I’ve been there two times and it’s very obvious as your the table next to you gets better treatment from Management/chef while they look at you and walk away.. very strange.
Food can be better.. Ambiance is good Waiters are attentive. Management should be aware of who’s is there and provide uniform treatment so you can ensure new clients feel welcome enough for them want to come back.
This was our first experience at La Villa. Everyone and everything was outstanding. The food was memorable. We will certainly go back. Be advised that the listing was as $$, but perhaps should have been $$$.
I went here for my anniversary. I was extremely impressed. The food was outstanding, the service excellent and I liked the atmosphere..elegant but not pretentious. The chef came to our table to talk and when he found out it was our anniversary went in the kitchen and created a dessert just for us. Our waiter was knowledgeable and obviously proud of the restaurant. I rarely write reviews..but I had such a good experience. I have a new favorite restaurant
OUTSTANDING experience in every way!!! Closest to a Michelin restaurant you can get to in Houston. We ordered the white asparagus, angnolotti pasta, black truffle risotto with scallop, the duck and two desserts - vacherin and eclair. Each preparation were extraordinary.
Luis, our server was fabulous in every way. His recommendations were spot on. Both he and Alex (bartender?) were super attentive. We highly recommend this restaurant.
Great ambiance, decor and delicious food! Service was excellent!
