Food and service were excellent but there are “Service charges” that total 6% above the menu prices that are poorly and not disclosed.

We arrived early for our 9:00pm reservation, and they were able to seat us; this was 30 min early. Service began slow. We immediately ordered the bread service. 15 min later we finally saw our server and asked about the bread; and got the ‘we are busy’ answer. The next comment however is what changed our expectations. We were told we had to hurry and order everything because the chef said so. Now, our original reservation was for 9:00 and it was not even 8:50 yet. We ordered, service was the same slow service we had experienced and we heard others complaining about. Our food, it was very tasty and luke warm at best. For the price; go someplace else, we will never return and Vail is a frequent destination now that we have family there!

Prices were exceptionally high, and they ridiculously charged two 3% additional charges for credit card use and additional staff fee in spite of the fact that you are already giving 20% service charges. The food was very good.

I have always loved La Tour but it has gone downhill- both food as well as service- also no music on patio anymore is a huge bummer. We were very disappointed this last time and will not return- service was especially poor.

I was really looking forward to a French dining experience only to be disappointed by the strange flavor profiles of both of our entrees. Wine selection although taunted as award winning was highly picked over. French onion soup was tasty and the escargot was good. Deserts presentation although nice was highly unnecessary….Who flambés crème brûlée?

Wow, what happened to La Tour? This was one of our favorite restaurants in Vail and we have been coming here for many years. Our most recent visit was very disappointing, enough so that we have been suspicious that the restaurant is closing or planning some other significant change. The owners and/or managers certainly seem to have lost interest and care for its current manifestation. Our service was inexperienced at best, neglectful and amateurish at worst. These staff members need some serious (re)training. The food was just so-so, with some good dishes like the salmon,scallops and some not so good like the steak and duck. Granted, this is Vail, but for these outrageous prices, we should reasonably expect a great meal with excellent service. Sadly, we will not be back.
