Hands down the best Thai food restaurant in any state without a doubt.
Great place to eat, but last night was its last supper. It’s closed for good now.
Been here three times. Food is fantastic. Highly recommended.
Although I was unable to attend due to sickness, those that want said it was outstanding and enjoyed it very much.
Really enjoyed the evening .... great food, service, ambiance .... sooo sorry to see them go! La Thai has always been a favorite.
Best Thai restaurant by far in New Orleans. So sorry to see them close. Hopefully they’ll keep the duck on the menu at the new restaurant!
La Thai is an excellent restaurant I have been going there for many years it is a shame that is going to close on Decamber 29
Liked the special BBQ Shrimp starter a lot. Gulf fish needed more flavor. The BBQ shrimp sauce on the fish would be a great dish. Sorry they are closing.
This has been an outstanding family restaurant for many year. I started eating at their restaurants in the early 80s. Outstanding Thai food. The best Thai restaurant by far in the New Orleans area.
We waited so long to visit, we were not let down! We are fellow church members with the Galle's. When we heard they were closing at the end of year, we had to go. We decided to make it a night out with friends. All of us we blown away at all aspects of the restaurant. I'm so sorry to see them close. We'll look forward to any other endeavor Diana and Jay embark on.
One of my favorite places to eat! Love the food!
La Thai is closing, so this was our last meal in the restaurant. Too bad. It is a real Uptown jewel.
Very poor service
Fantastic food
Coconut shrimp, spring rolls , calamari all excellent starters. We had 3 different entrees & all were delicious. Highly recommend this restaurant.
Never disappoints!!! Service and food always on point.
Love this restaurant! Decor is very inviting and really a cool place to hang out. Great food for vegetarians! Meeting place for group of friends.
One of my favorites. Diana and her husband Joe have created a lovely environment for some delicious Thai food with a New Orleans twist. We both had red curry with crayfish - one of my all time favorites, and shared the Chicken Satay. The mango and sticky rice was tempting for dessert, but the key lime pie with caramel sauce and berries called to us. It was a limey, key lime pie, not one of those wimpy ones and was excellent.
We'll be back .
We are so happy to have this gem of a restaurant in our neighborhood. The food is delicious and flavors abound. Looking forward to colder weather for regular visits for their great soups too!
Great experience
The overall experience was good! The staff and food were great.
Let's begin by saying we have been frequent diners here for years, having visited 8 times most recently since April 2018. The food is always outstanding, however service has been slipping. Last evening we went for an evening dinner with 5 people total and sat at the back right table. There seemed to be enough wait staff to handle the number of people in the restaurant, however, our server seemed to be stretched. The food was good, not great as usual, and then we had to go at two ten minute stretches without water or tea. We backed out of dessert and were just ready to go, as we left there were several staff members laughing by the bar with the hostess not even acknowledging we were leaving. Was never like this when Diana was in the kitchen and Merlin at the front of the house. I think your present concept needs to be reconsidered before we return to patronize your restaurant.
We had to wait thirty min. for a table. They seemed overbooked, but restaurants do this, some more aggressively than others. After being seated we had to wait for everything. Maybe they were just having a bad night but thats not the only problem.
The ambiance leaves a lot to be desired. This is because the doors to the kitchen are placed near the mid-point of the dining area and those doors never close, so we, along with about 3/5 of the diners were bathed in harsh, bright fluorescent light.
I do not recommend.
La Thai is great! Delicious food and always great food choices. There’s a reason it’s so well liked! Also, the ambiance and decor are very nice
We took a young friend for his first taste of Thai food. He loved every bite as did we. The red curry was super delicious with the perfect bit of heat. Paht Thai is always declicius and the Thai BBQ shrimp are to die for.
Patricia is FABULOUS!!! Because of her bubbly personality, we had a most memorable meal.
Been going here for years. Best Thai food in the city. Beautiful interior!
The service and food was great. Thank you for this experience first time and not my last
Crab three ways was delicious.
Great food and service.
We had a great time & the food was awesome! Service was most attentive & excellent & by the time we left, we were trying to figure out when we’d return! The ambience is so modern & charming.
A great dinner. Started with mussels & frittes. Mussels perfect not over cooked and just right amount Chile’s for a kick. Wife got Pai Thai noddles which made gluten free . I had the rice noodle dish Drunken Noodles. AWSOME !
The food is spectacular! Never a disappointing item. Everything is cooked to perfection with perfectly balanced flavors.
There are two things that stood out: The speed of service was very zippy, and the flavor / tastiness of the food exceeded expectations. It really was a great spontaneous meal. Strongly recommend.
The service and the food were fantastic! I absolutely love this place.
Good food, good service, good pricing. We went early so that there would be a quite environment to sit and talk over a really nice meal. It worked out perfectly.
A great find! The service and food was excellent. I would recommend this place to everyone.
We enjoyed six varied dinners and all were excellent and 3 starters. Portions were quite adequate .We all look forward to returning to LA Thai and recommend it highly to others.
Ordered the Pad Thai with no shrimp and just chicken. Delivered to table with shrimp. Sent back, got apologies. Got new one with "no shrimp". Looked like there was no shrimp, but tasted fishy. Found a couple of shrimp at bottom. Told server. She apologized again and that was it. Could have been a big problem if someone had a severe shrimp allergy. Won't go back any time soon.
Overall an excellent evening. The restaurant has done a nice job reinventing the interior, and the noise level is not too bad. We staff was friendly, and generally helpful. Food was excellent, consisting of modernize Thai food with a Louisiana twist.
