Friendly, efficient wait staff. Great menu. Delicious food!
Love this place
We were seated on the terrace which was lovely except for the occasional fire engine down going by. Service was excellent and food was delicious. I recommend!
The food, staff, and ambiance at La Scala are always the best.
Absolutely amazing!! Would highly recommend for a very special dinner
Best kept secret in Baltimore’s Little Italy. Incredible place. Incredible food. Indoor Bocce ball court. A local favorite.
The food was amazing!
The staff so attentive and informed on each dish. What a delicious description of dessert!
Pleasant atmosphere and a great location.
Yum and fun. We were looking for a good Italian restaurant and Baltimore’s visitor magazine mentioned that La Scala also had a Bocce court. We love Bocce so we had to go and playing was a blast. When I tasted my first bite of Veal Saltimbocca it was so delicious I got goosebumps. Reminded me of this wonderful restaurant I ate at as a kid with my parents for celebrations. Hadn’t had one as good all these years until the other night. I highly recommend.
Food always great celebrating husband birthday waitress was wonderful
I would have given a 4 or 5 except for one thing. Sitting near us was a large party split into 2 groups the adults were in a separate room and the teenage children were in the main dining area. The children were incredibly loud and started noisily moving around the dining area when they were done eating. The adult table ignored them and allowed this to go on. Management also allowed it.
What should have been a fantastic meal was not because of this. There are plenty of good restaurants in the little Italy area of Baltimore and I am not likely to come back because the way the situation was handled. If I am going to spend $300+ on dinner for 4 I expect a better overall experience.
Service (Jose Miguel) was outstanding. We were eating lightly - salads and pasta dishes, with sparkling water.
We found that the food at La Scala, at least among the pasta main dishes and the classic prosiutto and melon appetitzers was really quite good and fairly priced for a restaurant of this caliber. My Veal Saltimbocca was mediocre--the veal was not of the highest quality, slightly over-cooked and the sauce almost like a light gravy rather than the more delicate and lighter one that is traditional for the dish. The main detractor, however, was the pushy service--polite but slightly aggressive and rushed, something that everyone at our table noticed.
La Scala was outstanding in every aspect. Food and service of wait staff absolutely first class. Can’t wait to return.
Best Italian restaurant in Little Italy!!
Food was good for the most part, but there were misses. Tomatoes in capers salad had no taste. Carbonara had good flavor, but fried eye on top was strange.
La Scala has long been a favorite for us and our daughters who are in their twenties. The food, service and atmosphere are great. Pricing is very fair for the quality. Definitely recommend it!
Anniversary Dinner was terrific. Great food, great service, great atmosphere. One of the Best Restaurants in Little Italy Baltimore.
I never give five star ratings ... Amazing food, service, and very quaint restaurant. loved it! No need for critiques.
I went here with my wife for our anniversary and it was an excellent dining experience. Food was amazing and the service was great. I would definitely recommend. The one down side was the indoor bocce ball court. The people using it were extremely loud at moments (both adults and their pretty young children). It was a bit of a down side in an otherwise stellar evening.
The veal chop special is magnificent. Absolutely love this place.
Incredible food and great service. Homemade pasta and sauce. Met the owner and his mom. Great people and can't wait to come back! Thanks for the fantastic culinary experience.
Your Florida friends. Tom and Karla.
Food was delicious! We had swordfish and chicken Marsala. They were both wonderful . La Scala is always outstanding!
Fantastic food. Highly recommend the grilled caesar salad and Veal Mushroom Ragu.
Great service! Our waiter was very friendly and very attentive. The food was a bit on the salty side, but other than that our meals were very good. I got the gnocchi with marinara sauce and the other got the carbonara. I personally think the carbonara should have a vegetable like a pea in the dish.
Love La Scala. Best restaurant in Baltimore. Nino Germano is a genius when it comes to quality of food, wines, service, atmosphere, and friendliness. Been going to La Scala for at least 20 years.
I went there the other night with my mom and boyfriend and we had an incredible time. From the service to the food, it was impeccable. It was by far the best gluten free meal I have ever had. I cannot wait to go back! My mom recently went to Italy and she said that it was better than any food she had over there, and she’s Italian!
The food is just superb. The service is great. The staff are nice. The bar is great and reasonably priced for this type of high end restaurant. A look around the dining room shows table after table of people having fun and enjoying great food. It's a true old school restaurant for special occasions or just a nice evening out.
We are from Boston. Our son has been in school in Baltimore since 2012. He just graduated on Tuesday. We'll miss our regular visits, but when we are in Baltimore again for whatever reason (maybe baseball!), we've already agreed to make an evening at La Scala a priority.
We brought out of town friends who totally loved it....and they spend a lot of time in Italy!!
Fantastic!!! Wonderful all the way around! Can't wait to go back.
The place was beautiful and the food was excellent. However, we were seated next to an obnoxiously loud table and when we asked to move we were seated2 tables away. The other people seated in the room were rolling their eyes and it out a damper on the whole experience. There was another relatively empty room where we should have been moved. It was impossible to talk over the obnoxious table. It dominated the whole meal.
Great food. Great service. Intimate setting yet family atmosphere.
From the moment we walked in and were greeted, service was impeccable. Our waiter, Antonio, explained everything that we were in store for. He explained the specials thoroughly and answered all of our questions. Our glasses were never empty, and anything we needed came almost immediately. The experience was fantastic. The food was amazing. I recommend the grilled Caesar salad, it was so flavorful. I had pasta with lobster and lump crab in a tomato cream sauce, delicious and my girlfriend had spaghetti with meat sauce. The bread was crusty and warm, dipped in olive oil, no butter necessary. We took the tiramisu to go. I will definitely go back because there was no way I could ordered everything I wanted in one meal!
We went to La Scala to celebrate our wedding anniversary when we were visiting Baltimore and it was wonderful. The service was attentive and the food was fantastic! We had grilled Caesar salad (special) two cheeses and two meats from the salumeria menu, Raffaello Chicken and Gnocchi (special with goat cheese). We received a nice card at our table for our anniversary and a lovely tiramisu at the end of our meal. We will be back for a future special occasion!
Every dish that arrived at the table was superb! Waiter was fantastic as well .
Large party and it was an enjoyable evening. The food was very good and the service was attentive. I would return.
First time at La Scala. Been to many little Italy restaurants over the last 30 years. I'd like to see more price differential between dishes but I get it if this is easier. Fettuccine was thicker and not the best I've had. Saltimoboca could have had more flavor. I think I'm more of a Sabitonios fan
The food was great. The service was just as good! We'll be back when we visit Baltimore again
Our celebratory dinner was everything we had hoped for. Some of us had eaten there before, which is why we chose this restaurant. We needed an early seating and sometimes you wonder if staff will be on their game and if the kitchen will be up to speed. Not to worry both were fantastic. As a group we had something from the specials and regular menu for all the courses! Thank you La Scala you were awesome.
The food was average at best - and the service impatient
We’ve eaten at several places in Little Italy, Baltimore and this is the best so far!
