The restaurant was not busy but it took forever to get something once we ordered. This means we waited for drinks, for the appetizers, and for dinner while no one cared that our drink glasses were empty or that our guacamole appetizer was long gone.
The server did not write down our order and repeated the wrong order back to me. I corrected him and he still brought the wrong order.
When dinner arrived, the plates were pushed in between all the dirty plates and glasses. Even when the check arrived, no attempt was made to clear the dishes.
We have been to this location frequently in the past but we will think twice before returning.

Service wasn’t good — our server was aloof and seemed spaced out. He needed to be reminded to bring us our appetizer (table side guacamole) which came after our entrées, and the food was greasy and lacking flavor. Never going back.
I am sorry to hear we were not able to provide you with desirable level of service and food expectations while dining at La Sandia. We pride ourselves on excellent food and service, and your visit was clearly not up to our standards. We will talk to our chef, to ensure only the best quality ingredients and value are served to our guests. Never fails to deliver great food and service. Love taking out of town family and friends here. They are always Impressed!
Table was dirty, had to ask for it to be wiped off. She walked off, never said anything. Came back to wipe down, the the server sets down napkins on wet table!
Gal who delivered table side quac, didn't say a work. Uniform was filthy. We had to mash up our avocados, she barely did.
Never rec'd chips for our quac, we waited 5 minutes for chips & salsa before we could eat it.
Ordered steak nachos, steak was only on 5 chips, same with cheese sauce.
Server gave us someone else's bill
First time experience was not good.

Service was amazing considering the large amount of people in the restaurant. Food was very good. Definitely going back soon!
Solid Mexican food and drinks. It’s a family atmosphere so here were lots of kids , made it loud. Service was great.
Delicious food okay service.
Service was great. Food was just ok.
with some hesitation I can recommend La Sandia for good Mexican food. Service is generally a bit slow and prices seem to have increased recently...
Drinks are way overpriced and food was not very good. Staff was nice and friendly.

The food is delicious! I’ve been there a couple times and though every time I go the wait is terrible, I go back for the food!
Dear MoniqueB, We are so glad to hear that the food is worth the wait! Thank you for taking the time to write a revie. We hope the next time you come in there won't be such a long wait, but we do hope to see you again soon for more delicious food!
My sister wanted Mexican food before she headed to S.Korea for a year. So I just "googled" what was close. La Sandia Stapleton came up as closest. When we arrived I remembered that I'd been there before.
Nice location in a open mall type area. Parking wasn't too bad (found some behind the restaurant. It was a Tuesday night at 7pm. The restaurant was 1/2 full. The service was good. The guy with the tableside Gauc didn't mix it very well....mouthful of salt, then a mouthful of spice...very uneven. I had the mixed platter of street tacos. Passible.
It's not great. It's not awful. But a 1/2 full restaurant is all you need to know.
Dear Deb, I am sorry to hear we were not able to provide you with desirable level of service and food expectations while dining at La Sandia. I will make sure to address your feedback with our team so we can make sure the guacamole meets our standards every time going forward. We value our guest feedback, so if there is anything else we can do to improve and keep our restaurant more than 1/2 full, please email me at email@example.com m Warm Regards, Molly Guest Experience Team
Everything was really good, except the service. First, my girlfriend has diet restrictions and asked for no beans in her burrito. When it came out, it had beans in it, so they took it back, but by the time they brought out a new one, me and my girlfriends mom were almost finished. Second, we hardly saw our server. The girls had to ask one of my managers for more drinks more then one occasion. It was my girlfriends mom's birthday, so our server told her the options and she said what she wanted but by the time my girlfriend could say what she wanted, our server walked away so fast, we couldn't even flag her back. The food and atmosphere were great for the Sunday brunch! But the service needs work. Please train your servers better!

I though the food was a little bland for a Mexican restaurant.
"I love the relaxed feel of this place. We came for a business lunch and we were pleased with the atmosphere. The food was delicious. I definitely would return to try more dishes.
Service was very good and the server was attentive to our requests. The food was very good, freshly made. However, it was a bit too eclectic.
We enjoy the food and drinks but it can get pricey even with two people sharing 1 app and 1 entree and some margs.
A fun place for a cozy date. We ordered appetizers from the happy hour menu that were filling and delicious. We enjoyed the Serrano-infused margaritas. We would go back.
We dined on a Friday night. We had the chicken zarape and skillet pork carnitas. Both were very good. I really liked the charro beans and the creamy white rice. Did not eat all my meal so it was plenty of food. Good chips/salsa though the guacamoles seem a bit expensive.
Thank you for the review. We are glad to hear you enjoyed your dinner and had enough to eat. We hope to welcome you back to La Sandia soon for more delicious food.
The food and cocktails at La Sandia are delicious! Don't leave here without trying one of their tequila infused cocktails. My favorite is the La Sandia with watermelon and cucumber infused liquor. Also, have one of their tableside prepared guacamole. So fresh and wonderful! Happy hour is a great time to try many of their specialties for less. And dining on the patio is great for viewing the sunset and people watching. Love it!
We love Richard Sandoval's restaurants and dining. And La Sandia brunch is no exception. However, our experience on this one occasion didn't quite live up to our usual expectations.
The server got several orders incorrect and mixed up drinks. I think it was because they were short staffed and the server was pulling double duty as wait staff and bar. Other than that, our group did enjoy ourselves.
Great service and decor. The food was just ok. Small portions for the price and the rice was crunchy and dried out. Will give it another try though.
Sadly, tabletops were filthy. If you can’t clean tabletops, then use tablecloths. Our server was also bartender. Despite almost empty restaurant on a Sunday, the host seated our table of three in a far-off corner. On a positive note, the guacamole made tableside was among best ever. Prices are high. Overall, not a good value.
Menu has gone down hill. Service was poor. Portions were small. Not going back. La Sandia in Lone Tree used to be my favorite place.
Our server was awesome! Food was excellent, however, the server really added to the meal. We had a great time.
Service was slow we ordered appetizers which our server kept saying was on its way
A group of friends and I went there for the 1st time to celebrate a birthday. I made an online reservation to ensure we'd have a table ready on time and despite not being busy when we arrived we still waited 10-15 mins before sitting. We were a group of 6 and were sat in a small round table and there was food and water on the ground. We requested a different roomier table and a gentleman discussed with our hostess that they waited in the section we'd move to would be overwhelmed with big parties. We moved and our waiter took about 10 minutes to greet and offer water. He didn't come back. Then a female came over with a drink to which we let her know we hadn't even ordered. She was very apologetic and took our drink order. We then didn't see her or our waiter again. We had to wave individuals down to get in our food order and drink refills. This all going on while several tables are unoccupied. We had appetizers and they were tasty, however based on the service received I'm not planning on going back anytime soon.
Service was awful - food took forever and the staff never acknowledged how long we had to wait for our food. When they brought out our main entrees we were still missing our sides. Will not be returning to dine at this restaurant
This place deserves the great reviews it has. Best tableside guac I have had! Margaritas were good and large selection of tequilas.
Overpriced and service was terrible. The food came before our drinks arrived which made me think it was not so fresh. We had to search for our server on several occasions to order additional drinks. Disappointing...
God range of Mexican style appetizers and excellent Serrano margaritas. We went because it was convenient and Mexican food is usually quick and satisfying. This proved to be correct on both counts. Quick service, nice ambiance, and it was happy hour at 7:30pm on a Monday. This was a nice surprise and made dinner pretty reasonable.
Food was delicious! Guacamole made fresh at our table. Street tacos, enchiladas and horchata were all amazing. Reyna was attentive and helpful, as was the hostess and FOH manager. Restrooms clean and the decor was clever and inviting. Looking forward to our next visit.
Dynamic flavors & visually appealing presentation in each dish. Plus awesome salsa! Highly recommend!
Not only was the food delicious, from the Mole Coloradito Enchiladas to,the chocolate tres leches cake, the service was impeccable. Our server, Reyna, was super attentive.
I really enjoyed the food and drinks from La Sandia. They truly were fantastic. I’m just extremely disappointed in the service. I had made the reservation days prior to my friends and I coming in to celebrate one of their 25th birthdays, and we were seated at a tiny table that could barely fit four people. When we asked to move to a large table, we were able to do so, but our server made us carry our silverware, cups and chips and salsa over to the other table. He hardly checked in on us and asked if we needed anything. He also seemed kind of arrogant and treated us like we were stupid or something. One more thing that really upset me was my friend’s birthday was never acknowledged by anyone in the restaurant. I’ve worked in the hospitality industry in different hotels and restaurants, and I always made the diner’s experience a little extra special if I knew there was a celebration taking place. I will be back simply for the food and drinks, but I might just sit at the bar.
It was yummy! Great service and the food was excellent.
Over the past year or so, I've reduced how often I come to this location. I used to give this location 5 stars and would recommend it. However, the quality of the food and the experience had been noticeably declining, from my perspective. Then there was this weekend. The food was great. The plate presentation was surprizingly attractive (hanger steak and chicken fajitas). The food tasted very good. Assuming this location can keep up with the expectations now re-established by my recent enjoyable experience, I'll be coming back more often again.
Service was superb. Liked the new look to the bar area and dining.
Staff and Management were very nice and professional.
