La Petite Grocery
The La Petite Grocery name pays homage to the history of its home, a building that’s stood for more than a century. The original structure was built in the late 1800s and called the Central Tea, Coffee and Butter Depot. In 1908, a fire devastated the space and it was transformed into a full service grocery store. Later it was most notably a fine foods and butcher shop, VonderHaar’s Fine Foods until 1982. When La Petite Grocery opened in March of 2004, they similarly aspired to provide the neighborhood with exotic teas, locally roasted coffee, and fresh produce. By doing this, we hope to provide a dining experience that evokes nostalgia of old New Orleans.

Delicious meal - as always at Justin & Mia Devillier’s restaurants! They did an excellent job social distancing, and the service was outstanding.
Food quality is excellent. Imaginative dishes. Great selection.
My fave. Glad they’re back!
Establish and enforce ALL safety requirements; but do so with great care remembering it is important your guests feel welcomed.
A New Orleans favorite and top of my go-to list. The staff are fabulous and the food remarkable!
Went there on Monday for our last supper so to speak. We split the LA Wagyu sirloin and it was excellent. Split the special oyster salad and the pommes frites. Perfect way to go out. Great service.
Fabulous evening. Our waiter was exceptional. He wasn’t afraid to make menu suggestions when asked, and he was spot-on each time. Delicious food. The crabmeat beignets are out-of-this-world! Best cocktail I ever had, too.
It was a bit loud for easy conversation but this would not stop me from going back.
Our waiter, Ben, was outstanding. The food was fantastic and we thoroughly enjoyed our experience.
Attentive, friendly service with concern for food allergies. The food was delicious and perfectly prepared.
This place does not disappoint! Everything we had was superb, beautifully presented and delivered with grace and aplomb by our waiter. The crab beignets are outstanding and the special salad with fried oysters a delight. The trout, a daily special was delicate and moist. We topped this off with the unparalleled Basque cake. So happy to eat there with our family on our last night in New Orleans.
We were visitors to New Orleans & happened upon the restaurant on a walk in the neighborhood. The menu looked good & so we made reservations. The experience was a memorable part of our visit- excellent food & drink in a very nice atmosphere. Plus our server couldn’t have been more helpful & welcoming. Would highly recommend!
Great for a date night out or a special occasion. The food was delightful and the service was just as pleasant!
La Petite is our go to restaurant when we go out.
Delicious food and the noise level was excellent. Always a delightful experience.
The best restaurant out of all of the ones we went to while in New Orleans. We will be back!
The food here never disappoints. We enjoyed a delicious meal.
Fabulous meal from start to finish. Love the blue crab beignets and the LPG burger. Pommes Frites cooked to perfection. Can’t wait to return!
Great restaurant! Work your way down from the other side of Magazine street. Terrific meal with outstanding service.
Will for sure go back!
Great restaurant. Good was outstanding and staff/service was impressive even with two young children. Definitely recommended
Our server was fine but unenthusiastic. We’d never been, were visiting NOLA for our anniversary and were unfamiliar with what to expect at LPG, not because we hadn’t done our research about the accolades and menu, but because we were excited for an experience and received nothing more than an emotionless meal. The food was good, but not exceptional and some of the finer details we’d hoped would be executed without flaw were glaringly missed. We were both emphatic that we weren’t disappointed with the food but were expecting to be wowed and simply weren’t.
Food was cold and just not very good, complicated. Waiter very nice but hard to get his attention.
Great service, wonderful food, spectacular Basque cake.
The service was lovely. Unfortunately, the food was a bit disappointing, even the blue crab beignets which were tepid when served. The food was fine but it certainly did not live up to a James Beard award winning chef. The one item that did live up to expectations, and then surpassed them, was the butterscotch pudding, which was spectacular. I wish the whole meal could have been as good.
Great food, atmosphere and service! Nice cocktail menu as well. The bartender was very friendly and knowledgeable.
Charming bistro! Fabulous brunch, great french coffee and food.
Our server, Chuck, was fantastic! He did a great job explaining dishes and recommending pairings. Celebrating my birthday in new Orleans was such a treat, and I will definitely be returning to LPG during my next visit!
Phenomenal meal. The blue crab beignets and burger were standouts. Will definitely dine there again!
DEAFENING. We asked for a quiet table and ended up across from a huge table of young women talking very loudly.
Food has deteriorated. The rabbit crust was much too thick and the pasta served with it was cold.
We left ASAP and went elsewhere for dessert and champagne. At least then we were able to have an adult conversation.
This once was an excellent restaurant and I often recommended it to others--but no more.
As always we enjoyed Le Petite Grocery.
Impeccable food and service
Ben, Our Server at La Petite Grocery, was amazing and knowledgeable. He was very attentive but didn’t bother us during our conversation. The food was wonderful. The standout was the blue crab beignets. Very cozy atmosphere. Highly recommend the restaurant.
Delicious food and excellent service. We went for my boyfriend's birthday on Ash Wednesday and had a wonderful dining experience.
Justin Devillier at his very best!!! One of the finest in New Orleans!
