   Best restaurant in New Orleans. Best meal of possibly my life? We here in 2019, and have been dreaming about the crab beignets and alligator bolognese ever since. Got reservations this year 2023, and we all were just blown away. The highest quality service, drinks, food and atmosphere. In a beautiful part of town. I can’t recommend it enough!

   Food was delicious but kitchen needs to work on its timing as our entrees came out while we were still eating our appetizers and had to return to the kitchen. Some of the entrees were cold when they were reserved.

   Fantastic and fun meal! Great servers and robust cocktail menu. Appetizers were delicious and the duck special was tasty. The desserts stole the show as we shared 5 of them among 6 of us she debated which was best - try as ndjyvv be as you can !

   ur experience over all was just okay. I was a little disappointed in our server who didn’t let us know about any of the specials they had (or any recommendations whatsoever) which I’m glad I asked because the crawfish fritters where the absolute best part of our meal, like but those babies on the menu all the time. He definitely seemed like he did not want to be there. My husbands old fashion was -alright-, but I’m a stickler on my cocktails, especially whiskey and bourbon , and I do not believe an entire orange wedge belongs in a traditional old fashion, it was also super heavy on the bitters which over took the drink. It also watered down quickly with ice it was served with instead of a cube or sphere. I ordered the short ribs and the gremolata was the star of the dish and the short ribs where very tender but everything else on the plate was bland. My husband ordered the rabbit, which was better than the short ribs but the rabbit itself was also very under seasoned. Instead of asking us if we’d like dessert, our server just placed the menu on the table and walked off. For a place that is so highly recommended in New Orleans and a I expected better flavor, better service and a better experience.

    Our appetizers, sides , and desert were fantastic!! We split the duck special for our entree and unfortunately both the duck and beans were so undercooked it was almost inedible:(. Our server was fantastic.

    Great food, but not really a special occasion place. The room is beautiful. We had the blue crab beignets and the pork belly appetizers - both terrific. The entrees - seafood stew and the rabbit- were both outstanding. We had the strawberry shortcake for dessert - just average. Strangely, our waitress was efficient but cold and unfriendly. Also, we were there for an anniversary. The restaurant was notified in advance, and we had a whole pleasant conversation with the hostess about it. After that - nothing. Our waitress literally never even mentioned it - not a single “happy anniversary”, much less a candle or anything with the dessert. I’m not asking for any freebies, but they certainly didn’t do anything to make the meal special.

    I ordinarily NEVER write a negative review; writing this one because I sincerely hope it might be helpful to the restaurant. Sure had high hopes for an inspiring, special, elevated and memorable experience. Instead we had a hostile server and felt rushed and condescended to. Our reservation was for 9:45 pm. We would have much rathered 8pm but when I called the restaurant said it was full to the brim. 90 minutes before the reservation time I got an Open Table message that our table was ready early. We weren’t able to get immediately there but did arrive about 20 minutes before the original reservation time. The restaurant was maybe at 20% capacity. The server acted as though we were QUITE an imposition the entire visit. Truly ruined the meal. The food was good but overall not exceptional, but the crabmeat beignets were delicious. I cannot recall a restaurant visit where the service was this negatively impactful on the meal as a whole. This was my birthday dinner. I wish we had gone to Mandina’s.

    Our dinner at La Petit was a mixture of highs and lows. Generally, our appetizers were excellent especially the blue crab beignets. However their entrees were disappointing. Their rabbit was tough and their $39 shellfish stew came lukewarm with very little seafood. After the meal, we commented on all our food (the good and the not so good) and the waitress instantly became rude. Astonishing for a high end restaurant! We would not recommended La Petit Grocery.

    I had read so many great reviews for this restaurant and it lived up to the reputation. I enjoyed a quiet late lunch of crab beignets and a delicious pasta dish with crawfish. Service was top notch, friendly and accommodating. I highly recommend!

    Overall excellence. Do not pass an opportunity to eat at LPG. Can close your eyes, point to anything on the menu, and will be incredibly impressed with the food and the experience.

    Diners take note!! We called about 7 days wanting a reservation. We were told there were no indoor tables available. So we accepted an “out side table” reservation. We were seated outside the front window of the restaurant abutting a busy noisy street with traffic - it was chilly and there were no heaters. There were a few empty tables inside but we were told they were reserved. Suggest you go elsewhere for dinner if you are offered this seating - not worth it even if the food is great. We requested to be reseated if a table became available and this did occur before our main course was served. But would have preferred to go elsewhere for dinner if we had realized this is how the evening would evolve.

    A fantastic experience for my wife and I, as we celebrated becoming parents next month. We enjoyed one of the most memorable and divine dinners we’ve had in some time. The food was superb, and wait staff was terrific. Our waiter Jacob engaged with us, and aside from sharing some laughs, encouraged us to visit other areas of New Orleans for live music. We cannot say enough of LPG, and as my wife keeps saying, “We will be back!”
