## La Mama: A Santa Fe Gem

Located steps from The Plaza, La Mama is a wine bar, restaurant, cafe and specialty market. By day this spot pulls fresh coffee and serves up full breakfast and lunch offerings. The lovingly rendered, light-filled 1915 bungalow has ground floor banquettes, a cozy mezzanine, a charming covered front porch and a convivial backyard patio.

By night, La Mama transforms into a delicious dinner hang out serving food crafted from local and seasonal ingredients alongside a full list of natural wines, local tap beers and an extensive selection of non-alcoholic beverages. Start your meal with house-made focaccia with whipped local-milk ricotta, organic chicken liver paté or lamb crepinette. Continue on to larger dishes like the veg-friendly winter squash gnocchi garnished with piñon dust or the confit duck with black lentils and chard. Finish it all with something sweet like the salt-baked apple.

Our first time to La Mama and everything was delightful. They accommodated our vegan. They went out of the way to make us comfortable The service is awesome And the outdoor dining is comfortable with an amazing view of the Cross of the Martyrs. A new neighborhood gem for us!

What a delightful brunch. The food was delicious (corn meal pancakes, bagel with everything, bacon, chard, potatoes). A lovely place full of good food and hospitality. We will be back!

We had an excellent dinner at this restaurant, which is close to the Plaza but feels nicely separated from the tourist bustle in its quaint house. All ingredients were very fresh and locally sourced. We ate delicious trout and duck. Will definitely go again!

We had a wonderful evening with diner on the front porch. Service was friendly, engaging and combined with delicious food made for a very please experience. Next time, we’ll try the terrace in the back.

Great little shop with an outstanding menu. Not lengthy but literally everything on it looked good. We had the hummus plate, the lamb burger special with goat cheese and shrimp risotto. We eyed but were too full for dessert. Conclusion a great spot after touring Canyon Road or just a spot to relax with friends.

I had mad e reservation for 6:15pm. Arrived only to a a smell of what I would consider extremely vinegar/ kimchi pungent. Not exactly sure why this was the case but I digress. As soon as he walked in, we were not greeted by anybody for at least 5 min which was already confusing considering we had a reservation. When he finally came in contact with the *young* gentleman who was the host/ server, he greeted us with “thank goodness you want to sit outside because our upstairs seating area (which the reservation was made for) is at capacity” my thoughts where “thank God it smells so bad in here that I actually want sit outside in the rain or else I would’ve of made a fuss that you gave our reservation away.” Not to mention we regrettably ordered food at the counter because I genuinely came to experience and really wanted to like La Mama but there were one too let downs to do so. It seems overrated for the boutique artesian wine shop push. Unfortunately the infrastructure seemed way off kilter, staff seemed very flustered, overwhelmed and disorganized 🤷🏽‍♀️

Loved our waitperson, attentive, friendly, and passionate about their job and the restaurant! The front porch was a perfect spot to enjoy a peaceful evening meal.

I usually give places time to get their feet on the ground, I waited way too long this time. This will definitely become a regular stop for me. Nice to have a place with a neighborhood restaurant feel with really nice, clean food with simple touches that elevate. I love that!

We loved our dinner and experience at La Mama! My friend and I both come from foodie cities (Portland and Oakland) and had been struggling to find good food in Santa Fe. La Mama was delicious and the service was fantastic. We both highly recommend eating here!

Neighborhood gem. Excellent wines and food. The service was great. Sit on the front porch, It is cool and calming. We will be back. The Duck confit and fresh arugula salad was amazing.
