Visiting Sacramento couple weeks back and we stopped in for a bite. After sitting, completely ignored for approximately 20 minutes, I asked to speak with the manager. About 10 minutes later, a man who had been just chatting and drinking a soda with what appeared to be a fellow employee approached our table. Upon arriving at our table, I mentioned that we had been sitting for a while and nobody had come to our table. His reply, "Do you think because you're white, we should treat you any better than other customers". Wait...what!!!??
I didn't actually need a reservation, since it was counter service.
Very happening lunch spot in Cesar Chavez park - great for a lunch meeting - quick and good atmosphere.
Loved the chicken tacos!
The food was exceptionally yummy and the ambiance and service were awesome.
Took 1.5 hours to get our food. Food was cold upon arrival. They did not have enough menus! We had 2 servers ask if we were done with them as we were deciding what we wanted. Receipt was incorrect, overcharged. Waitress told us they did not have a child menu but that they could make a cheese quesadilla after waiting 1.5 hours for our food, she said the cooks argued with her and would not make the quesadilla!!! Are you kidding? The restaurant is super cute if only the service and food was good! I literally had to hunt down our waitress to get our bill.
The management was very nice, but service was slow. The pictures on their website made the restaurant appear like a very nice, happening place, and that seating outdoors was an option. It wasn't--outdoors is the only place to sit and you're in the middle of Cesar Chavez Park. That evening it was HOT, and there was a noisy event going on in the park. I'll probably be back for a dinner when I'm more in a partying mood and not wanting a quiet evening with friends.
The food was carefully prepared and served. The plates were unloaded. We feasted our eyes before our appetites with the artsy but tasteful ambiance. The food was a "fiesta" of flavors and textures that were most pleasing to the palate. I ordered the fish; my friend ordered the vegan dish. We were extremely pleased with food, service and overall experience. We will be returning. We are considering celebrating a friend's birthday on July 2nd there.
We've visited La Cosecha three times in the last two months. Each visit we were greeted immediately and warmly and seated right away. The value of the meals were typical and the happy hour prices are great. All that aside, you come here for the food. You've got to try the chilaquiles for brunch, it's just spicy enough and thr chips are the perfect balance of crisp and loaded with eggs and cheese. The Happy Hour nachos are sublime! Big chunks of marinated pork with black beans and cheeses. The street tacos were delicious with little bits of pineapple teasing your taste buds. And the cocktails! Oh man, they know what they're doing. Sweet ones, savory ones, tequila tastings.... The list goes on. Don't miss out on this gem.
We are never disappointed with the service (Moises is our favorite). Great food, ambiance, music and dancing. Perfect spot for a couples date night on Saturdays.
Amazing restaurant! Live music, good service and great food!
First time visit after driving or walking by many times. Dinner with friends was made even more special because the food was great, the service was personal, the ambience was great - as was the live music. Will definitely go again... and again. I think it could become a regular spot for us.
Need more clean ,better flavor for food better services
The team went out of their way to make for a wonderful experience! The Fish Tacos, the Flautas w/Carnitas ❤️ Fav drinks, Hibiscus Iced Tea & La Sweet Chingona!!! Save room for the Churo’s, or better yet-have them first
Staff is awesome..... organization sux......
Came here with a reservation during concert in the park. The restaurant seemed adequately staffed, however every single person working looked like a chicken with their head cut off. Everyone seemed panicked at the number of patrons. After being seated, the two waiters in our section didn’t know whose table belonged to whom. After that was worked out 10 or so minutes after we were seated we placed our order. Our food showed up very fast, but wrong. It was quickly corrected, however our drinks showed up 20 minutes after our seating and after we had finished dinner. We asked 3 different people for napkins, my husband finally got them himself. We were charged a “special event” price for drinks, even though menu given us had original price. Waiter corrected mistake but we had to wait a very long time only for our change to come back wrong. Overall, we should have gone to a food truck. I understand it was very busy, but the basics in food service was just plain lacking.
I made a reservation for 4 people during a Friday night concerts in the park event. I understand that because of this, business was unusually high and hectic. However, they did not have a table for my party and seemed incredibly understaffed and unprepared to handle the night. I waited over an hour and a half to finally be seated. They should not have seated so many walk inside when they had not yet seated their reserved customers. I felt really bad for the hostess and wait staff to be put in this position. Everyone seemed frustrated. It's unfortunate because I like this restaurant but felt ignored and not appreciated when I was there. Not sure yet if I'll come back. Maybe wait until they get more organized.
Really good Mother’s Day lunch. Only issue is all the other mothers were given flowers on Mother’s Day around us but they never came to our table.
Great service. Large group.
Only thing that they didn't slip bill for us. Live music on that day. Would recommend it.
Went to see Maya- was not disappointed. Friendly staff. Just a little too loud being up close, but I had requested that on Open table. Had to move inside due to coldness in patio- hostess was gracious and accommodating.
Awesome service and the food lived up to other reviews. Worth going to and we will go again
Awesome... bartender Chris was th best.
We absolutely loved the house margaritas which had a Smokey taste, with a smokey and citrusy salt on the outside. I thought that the chef chose quality ingredients for all the food we ate which made going out to eat worth the money. The kitchen got our order mixed up with another table but we were fine with it because we each got a complimentary margarita and churros for dessert. We have friends coming in town and we will definitely take them here to enjoy good drinks, food and ambiance.
High quality, ultimate flavor! Everyone on staff was more than welcoming! We plan to visit soon
Awesome place! Never heard of it until I found it during a last minute attempt to find a reservation on valentines day. I've been to Mayahuels and I love the place so I didn't expect any less from la cosecha. The food was great service was fast and the live music added an amazing touch. This is a hidden jem (I'm not from Sacramento, never noticed it). I will definitely be back.
Great service, food was excellent. Had a nice time.
It was our first time visiting the restaurant and left feeling good about the food, the drinks, the atmosphere, the outdoor potential for warm weather enjoyment. Highly recommended.
We went in initially for the Dine Downtown menu during brunch (which was only for dinner, yet they offered it to us) and we chose from the brunch and regular menu. The masa pancakes were amazing, sweetened only with compote. The carnitas hash is a perfect low carb meal with pork, onions and peppers. The carnitas meal had the perfect portions of rice, beans and of course, tortillas. We are already planning to dine for Cinco de Mayo.
Great food and friendly service. We went there for Dine Downtown on a Saturday night expecting to be seated outside but (thankfully) got seated indoors. Everyone was great and very friendly and the food was very good. The downside was that it took a loooong time for the food to arrive. I'm not sure if it was the volume of people... they needed to add additional, temporary seating to accommodate the Dine Downtown crowd... but it literally took twice as long to finish the meal than necessary. There was a large group next to us that wasn't as patient and threatened to not pay the bill. That said, I think La Cosecha does a lot for downtown Sacramento. It's in a great location, provides a great gathering spot, and adds value to the city by being where it is.
Absolutely fabulous meal! Everything was perfect from start to finish. The food is amazing and the service was impeccable. We will definitely be returning here
La horchata, la hamburgesa, y los tres leches postre son deliciosos.
We were sat at a make-shift table, which was very uncomfortable. You could tell they don't usually have table service because the waiter would bring one glass of water at a time. He didn't remember who ordered what. 3 of us ordered of the dine downtown menu and one off the regular menu. When we were getting our first course the waiter informed my husband that his dinner was ready and asked if he wanted it then. So while we were on our first course he was eating his dinner. After a long wait, the waiter leaned over the counter and told me they were out of the chile verde, which was the main course and asked what else I wanted. I find it odd that they were out being that our reservation was at 6:45 and it wasn't that busy. The kitchen should've known right away when the ticket was put in that they were out of one of the main dishes. Not let me know an hour later after the first two courses. All in all, we waited a long time, the service was inefficient and the fact that they were out of one of the main dishes was crazy.
We were very disappointed.
Inventive solid Mexican food. Not the cheesy glop often found in California Mexican restaurants.
Went for a downtown event and the place was crowded. So the service was a bit slow, which was fine because we had the time. The food was excellent and the drinks great. Since we had to wait a little too long for our desert, they did comp us a round of drinks without us having to beg. Anyway, I'd still go back because of the food and drinks. When the weather is warmer, the outside patio would be fantastic!
steak tacos were pretty basic not much meat mostly vegetables tortillas used were not very good. best thing i had was the guacamole and chips. also had a order of the chilaquiles which may have been good if not served cold reason did not finish them. The michelada did not have great flavor too much tomatoe juice lacked all the other flavors you get in most micheladas. The servers were very nice and helpful could of just been a bad day sunday early morning afternoon. Not sure if I would try again. The location is not the best although I feel for people struggling seeing homeless people everywhere really takes away from the experience of enjoying nice dining.
