KUMOYA, is a Japanese Kitchen and Sushi Restaurant, the passion project of renowned sushi chef Corey Baker in collaboration with Max Mackissock, located in the heart of LoHi. We specialize in traditional sushi and innovative izakaya-style dishes with a modern Japanese twist. Our kappo-style dining concept allows guests to curate their own culinary adventure. Chefs Corey Baker and Max Mackissock draw inspiration from Kaiseki cuisine, celebrating the seasons and micro-seasons inherent in sushi and Japanese cooking, resulting in a dynamic, ever-evolving menu.

Hands down the best sushi I've ever eaten!! It needed more AC in the back room, as it was quite warm in there. Service & food were phenomenal. Would highly recommend.

We had the most incredible experience at Kumoya in Denver! From the moment we walked in, we were treated with genuine warmth and care by every beautiful and kind member of the staff. The atmosphere is vibrant and welcoming, and the attention to detail in both the service and the food is top-tier. A special shoutout to Wes, who went above and beyond to make sure our visit was perfect—attentive, friendly, and truly made us feel like VIPs. The food was absolutely delicious, beautifully presented, and full of flavor. We can’t recommend this place enough! Whether you’re local or visiting, Kumoya is a must. Can’t wait to come back again soon!

Absolutely incredible!! Our server was perfectly attentive and gave us recommendations that did not disappoint. The sashimi was fresh and intricately plated with great compliments. Wagu tartare was a must as well. Neat atmosphere too!

First visit was great! They were able to sit us early from our original reservation. We sat near the Bar. The restaurant has a great design and atmosphere we felt like we were in NYC. The servers were great and working as a team. We ordered 6 items across the menu our stand outs were the Kara'age, eggplant, udon, sushi rolls. All the food was prepared well and met our expectations for flavor and quality. We are excited to return for another visit to try the rest of the menu! Kudos!

My husband and I had a fantastic time for dinner. Great vibe, food and the staff was amazing. We will definitely put this in our restaurant rotation and often!

Best Japanese restaurant in Denver. Sushi is phenomenal but their rotating menu of cocktails and modern Japanese dishes are 1 of 1

Absolutely amazing! Beautiful and perfectly decorated down to the smallest detail. Food is top tier. Flavors are delicious and unique. I was so incredibly impressed!

The perfect combo: Warm neighborhood vibe, attentive service and a wonderful menu that keeps the focus on quality and freshness. We loved that there were subtle flavor innovations without being over-the-top. I brought a foodie friend from NYC who was impressed. Will definitely be back.
