We also blend our Kuleana Nanea® from exceptional rums we discovered around the world.
The staff was great. We actually choose to have dinner there after reading online that their meat for their burgers is made in house. The meat had absolutely no flavor at all. Meat was cooked perfectly. Unfortunately, it was room temperature if that, onions were cold, the cheese was a joke. Maybe three crumbles. The bun was ice cold We ordered the wedge salad I’d give it a B We did not asked for a new prepared burger because we did not was to make a fuss. Maybe chef was having a bad night.
Joy was amazing! Thanks for the amazing dinner and knowledge about rum!
Great service...glad to see you have reopened. Great cocktails.
Great Food and excellent employee's. We went there 2x's on our vacation. Have already recommended to folks in the condo complex we stayed in.
We booked the special rum tasting event last minute and showed up to a closed restaurant. We were looking forward to experiencing their rum. I know this is a place filled with passion about their products, however if you make a special event, please show up to host it.
Amazing service and fantastic food!
Excellent rum cocktails. Have a bunch of pupus and skip the entrees.
Great meal - our second visit. We had the fish special which was ahi with a couple of very tasty sauces.
Absolutely amazing! My newest favorite place to dine and socialize.
First time and very impressed. Good food and the drinks amazing. Mia tia really strong but smooth.
The food was limited with Covid, but a good menu and strong service. Amount of food was price worthy and good tasting. Was little disappointed with no kids (Kiki) menu at this time, but they will be fixing that as time goes on I was told.
Good location and I will enjoy going back.
Food was really mediocre. Sent the wings back. Pork Quesadilla was tasty. But the menu is limited. They don’t really make much of the rum tastings. Just another mall restaurant.
Many comments about tbe mai tai being traditional but it wasn't nor was it strong. That's not to say it wasn't good. Food was pretty good, prices were in line with HI lrices. Good covid spacing. Would probably give it another try.
The menu has downgraded like many restaurant unfortunately. Our favorite cocktail is no longer available and our favorite appetizer Ahi nachos was a disappointment. It is now four won ton chips with poke. Gone are the poke dishes and Hulu Hulu chicken. And they have changed the malasadas. We found the sauces very good but it is always to dip or dunk the malasadas. It was an expensive night out to leave feeling underwhelmed. All food tasted good but no longer unique. Not sure we will return anytime soon
Had a very nice meal sitting outside at the Rum Shack. Very much enjoyed the Poke and chips along with the Ahi and curried rice. The rum drinks were very interesting. We will be back as it is a 6 minute walk from our condo.
We were glad that they have reopened! Our side of the island needs more outdoor dining! Mahalo! Was somewhat disappointed that there menu has changed due to change in partnership. Food is still excellent and I love the ambience. Our server was extra extra friendly (much appreciated) just needs a tighter fitting mask keep nose covered and less need to touch it. We will watch it evolve and continue to support.
We had a wonderful evening. We enjoyed our food and our drinks. The service was excellent! We will definitely recommend the Rum Shack to our friends and we look forward to our next visit !
Not much of a happy hour. Drinks were half the size. Not much food options.
Waitress was slow and recommended poor drinks for our kids.
Laid back and very friendly and like all places, adjusting to keeping the flow going while going the extra mile of cleaning/disinfecting tables between guests. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.
Food was great, drinks were
Very good food. Excellent service.
Service very friendly and efficient. Food good husband had pork with gravy over rice. I had mahi mahi special. Lightly fried over rice with a bit Korean type sauce. Both were delicious. Have been here several times and food has been consistently good. Husband has tried rum tasting and enjoyed that. Great addition to Queens shops in Waikoloa.
What great find! We come here every year and have tried all the restaurants in the area and we are thrilled to add this to our list of favorites. Our family enjoyed the pork and gravy, rum shrimp, citrus salad, and the catch of the day. Our little guy got the Korean chicken and everyone was fighting over it. Specialty drinks were fantastic.
We’ll be back before we head home.
A convenient location to the Marriott. Rum flight are offered. Good happy hour pricing. The fish tacos were outstanding.
Great casual eatery with top notch cocktails -the best ones utilizing their own rums including an Agricole which uses native Hawaiian cane strains
Nothing remarkable about this restaurant. Food was fine, service was ok, drinks were average. Not a bad dining experience but wouldn’t go back.
We really enjoyed the local specials: Huli Huli Chicken & Loco Moco. Fun to be enjoying Hawaiian food on the Big Island!
We left the resort scene for a more authentic Hawaiian experience. This restaurant delivered. We had fresh mahi, rum cake, and a flight of their house made rum. Everything was delicious and our server was knowledgeable. The only aspect that could have been improved was the noise level, but I think we were a bit unlucky due to the fact that the weather was poor and the garage doors had to be closed.
I would probably have given a solid 4 star except for the issue I had to with seating. The server was amazing and the bartender was amazing but.,,, I had a reservation and was given a very poor seat because others had reservations? I was left to sit waiting while they could see what could be done? I don’t think anything WAS done till I checked again. Suddenly I had a normal seat and actually had a wonderful dinner 😁wish I could have started at 5 versus 2 ! Worth a try.
Kids menu pricing was reasonable. Service was good and attentive, but food was sub par. Steaks were expensive considering they were really not very good and loco mock was terrible, though staff took it off bill as courtesy. Cute place but wouldn’t go back for food.
Great food and service.
Delicious shrimp. Delicious not too sweet mai tai. Fun vibe. Great service from Theresa!
The Poke flight was awesome. My wife loves the fresh catch. The service was exceptional. Very convenient place close to hotels. Will come again
Fish tacos were enjoyed by 3 of the 4 people but the pork dish was barely cooked (pink in spots) and gelatinous looking. I did not eat it. The waitress offered to give me something else, but I was so put off, I declined. The waitress was cute and very nice but her first evening. She will learn to respond quickly when there is a 3 year old at the table. The restaurant was very noisy because there was a birthday party st the table next to us. On a previous occasion, I was disappointed with my shrimp dish and my friend found his pork a little fatty but tasty You have a great idea; casual dining at good value but I think you should bring the food up a notch to attract and keep more customers.
I went here based on the overall reviews and wanted to try a new restaurant. My experience there was "Fair" at best. The food was overpriced for what you get. My shrimp salad at $22 was small, the dressing lacked zest or any flavor, the shrimp was overcooked and was not seasoned, and no one in my party was raving about what they ordered. In fact, no one said anything about the food they ordered. It's not a place I would recommend to friends, nor is it a place I would go back to.
Food was very good, live music and the place was well designed- open and airy... you didn’t feel like you were part of a shopping mall. I’d go back again!
Enjoyed our visit. Good food, great service. The menu includes flights so you can sample all 3 Kuleana rum styles.
The Firecracker Shrimp was pretty good, but could have used a bit more fire. It was a little bland. Also, not a lot of choices for someone gluten free. The service was terrific!
Very rushed. Food overcooked. A place to drink but not to eat. Extra add ons pushed. Won't be returning.
Blender in the bar was broke, so could not get a frozen drink. Meal portions were small compared to other restaurants. Only have two desserts on the menu and they were out of one, so only had one choice. Very disappointing experience as we had heard and read good things about the restaurant before we went.
Food was great, service was just as good! Will definitely go back. Suggest the rum tasting.
