Only so-so. Food and drinks were fair, place is cute, but we sat outside where was no ambience. Practically no GF choices
Service was excellent. Food just mediocre. Husband enjoyed the rum flight and mai tai. Red wine was lightly chilled which was great (& unusual in Hawaii)
Creative specialty drinks, solid food, an amazing dessert.
We’re not rum drinkers due to allergy, but the food offering were nice. However, the website menu didn’t match the current menu offered. We order an appetizer, but wouldn’t have if the menu showed the inclusion of French fries with our burger. Serving staff were fabulous. Would recommend going after the sun goes down. It was very hot inside with limited shaded table.
Could not have been happier!! Our food was delicious and Mai Tai’s hand crafted with lots of love. Definitely my go to spot in Waikoloa.
The food was alright, but the service was excellent. Very knowledgeable staff and attentive.
Drinks were great and food was even better. Catch of the day entree was the best.
Really fantastic cocktails! The food was great too.
What a great place despite being in a bland shopping mall! The rum is delightful as is their first-place Mai Tai (the winning bartender made it) and many other cocktails. We had a couple of their specials (both fish) and the malasadas with dipping sauces - everything very good. The service was a bit slow but that may be a good thing when drinking rum! It was very windy (all floor-to-ceiling windows were wide open) and our tasting flight was blown off the table, breaking a glass in the process. They quickly replaced it and cleaned up. Thank you!
Excellent service! We loved learning about the types of rum.
Great food. Quick service and our 2nd visit during our stay in Kona. Great Mojitos!
Enjoyed from the moment we walked in the door !!
Loved their burger and fries. Well flavored and well cooked. The Prawn appetizer was so~so. Lacked the flavor I was expecting. The watermelon Mojito was simply delightful. The service was great but the control of people moving around the restaurant was not. People lingering around tables. I like the rum😊
Anniversary was not acknowledged but we did enjoy our cocktails before dinner. The limited menu was strong on Asian Fusion. Food was well seasoned and plentiful. Nice staff, great ambiance and tasty drinks! Good overall experience
Wasn’t sure how this was going to be a family dinner, but we wanted to eat somewhere besides the hotel restaurant. We saw that the restaurant had good reviews, although I was a little concerned it was more of a cocktail bar than a dining establishment. When we arrived the wait staff was extremely friendly and helped give us some good advice about the different options on their menu. The cocktails were top notch, with high quality ingredients and mixers. Even my daughter’s Shirley Temple was the best one she’d ever had. The food was absolutely amazing! Great portions, presentation, and well put together flavor combinations. I’d also be remiss in mentioning how fantastic the dessert is. They only have one, but it’s like the most delicious doughnut you’ve ever had with some amazing dipping sauce. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to others.
Last dinner in Hawaii and so amazing! The food and service were great and drinks are fantastic!
Good food that is close to the Waikoloa resorts. Worth stopping in for a bite.
Excellent. Had a great time here as we arrived
Amazing food and rum. Ambiance was great, a tad loud for some but I enjoyed it. Get dessert, it was incredible.
Food was good but service was not. Overall okay
Wonderful food, cocktails and service. Of note the Mai Tai and donuts both were memorable. Looking forward to our next visit.
Always a pleasure. Joy was a fabulous server. Happy hour is great. And all the food and beverages are delish. Don’t forget the malasadas for desert!
Very poor service. Overpriced food
The staff were attentive and engaging and provided some great suggestions for our family. Cool mocktails for our kids and cocktails were exceptional. Food was fresh and they offered quite a few locally sourced options.
Wass excited to try a distillery on the big island and was in for a rude awakening. This is basically a restaurant disguised as a distillery tasting room. Two of the three house rums are blended Caribbean rums and not made in Hawaii (a let down for those intrigued by distillery tourism) and atmosphere was what you'd expect from a mostly generic higher-end mall restaurant and not a quaint "shack" or down to earth distillery/brewery vibe I was hoping for. I did appreciate the open "garage door" element to the space but it looks out on a busy road and shopping mall. Service was prompt but the waitress pulled all the trick to try and upsell us at every turn. The mixed drinks were tasty. One of the drinks was the house mai tai which was apparently made by the "world mai tai champion." It was a good drink, but definitely not a mai tai (made with pre-made mix and not orgeat. Food was very expensive and honestly not worth the money. Things tasted ok, but I'd save your bucks, get the drinks and go order poke bowls from Foodland instead.
Everything was just wonderful at our dinner last evening.
Food was just okay; glazed shrimp was overcooked and expensive for just three shrimp. Coconut Curry Tofu was great (server recommended adding avocado. Huh?! No thank you). ‘Lumpia’ was delicious but smoked brisket and thousand island dressing? Wouldn’t call it lumpia, but ignore that and get it anyway. Poke Nachos were forgettable: skimped on the fish and way too sweet. Cocktails looked really promising… but were underwhelming and pretentious.
Our server Joy was attentive. The food was a disappointment, except for the chicken appetizer. We ordered the special - a tomahawk steak. It was very poor quality, under seasoned and overcooked. For $125, I expect something that tastes good. This steak tasted like it has been defrosted in the microwave.
They didn’t have a lot of the menu items and when we did order it was completely wrong
If I could only go to one bar/restaurant on the Big Island, this would be it. Their craft cocktails are the best -- creative, varied, and made with care. The bar staff is amazing. Doug and Joy took great care of us, and treated us like ohana. I can't wait to return.
We were seated too close to other tables. There were unattended toddlers running a muck around our table. Very annoying. They screamed a lot. The guy on stool playing an instrument sounded like he was just learning how to play…..same notes over and over. He was loud, but difficult to understand and very boring. We usually don’t complain about kids in restaurants, but there were 4 tables surrounding us with babies and toddlers on all four sides of us. We couldn’t carry on a normal conversation under the circumstances. Food was wonderful. Maybe next time we will get our food to go.
Despite e-mail confirmation, and a second confirmation by an Open Table bot asking us to confirm that we were coming, the restaurant was closed at the time of our reservation. We did not receive an e-mail nor phone call informing us that the restaurant was actually closed.
The restaurant cancelled my reservation the same day in the afternoon. They called and left a message claiming that they couldn’t open the restaurant. Maybe it was legitimate but might be related to the 50% cap imposed by the governor two days earlier. I’ll never know, and we’ll never go back.
The food was good. The service was not. It was very hard to get drink refills, including water.
The waitress did not ask why my husband didn’t eat his steak. If she did he would have told her it was tough and overcooked. What could have been a great meal was only ok.
I know Hawaii is expensive but I expect to be full with whatever food I get. The menu is small and there's almost no options for non-meat eaters. The prawns shouldn't be even considered an appetizer when they give you only 3. The Caesar salad was more like lettuce wedges except less satisfying. The lumpia was good though. We came here on a recommendation but I wouldn't recommend this place unless you see something you truly want to eat and don't care about how much you spend for small portion sizes.
Severely overpriced for food quality. Roasted broccoli I were cold, Asian slaw, mushrooms were bland. It was underwhelming. However the space is nice and chill. You need to kick the food quality up a good few notches to get a little closer to your new and fun place.
Our waitress was very knowledgable, friendly, and enthusiastic. The food was delicious!
My husband and I shared the tomahawk steak, it was perfect! The Kiawe smoked mashed potatoes were great too. The service, food and drinks are always wonderful!
Not sure why they require reservations when the place was never full. We went the previous day and were told you need a reservation to eat. The host was rather rude about it and didn't try to help us make a reservation.
We made reservations for the next day for four and ended up having to move it 30 minutes. After our arrival, the host could not find the reservation and then told me that she has me for outdoor seating when our reservation specifically requested indoor through OpenTable.
Our server was very slow to come to the table and get our order. The food was okay - not worth the price point. Looking at the pictures on Yelp, they are not what was presented on the plate. The poke nachos didn't have enough poke and were presented on large tostada style chips which were hard to eat. It was also very sloppy in their presentation. The prawns were mediocre and not worth $4.50 each. The curry was good but the serving was tiny and not worth the $$.
The rum/drinks were very good however.
Server/staff were very slow to come back to the table and check on us. Not sure why.
Not worth the reservation hoops we had to jump through. Good rum but won't be returning.
