Our server was fantastic! The drinks are great, especially the Mai tai! The food was pretty good.
Loved this place!!! Malasadas were amazing. Drinks were great and terrific service. Thank you, we will return .💗
Fantastic spot. Super knowledgeable and friendly staff. Really enjoyed our time
Our favorite restaurant on the island! Great food and killer drinks. Awesome service. Paula and Joy and the best. Fun and friendly. Try the Mochiko Chicken and a Mai Tai. So good and such a fun atmosphere.
Great rum based drinks, as you may have guessed from the name. The food is pretty good as well.
We had the Pipikaula Lumpia and the Kuleana Burger both ways and they were delicious. I had the Calamansi fish special with pasta and the taste was very nice but the fish was a little rubbery. Didn't look overcooked, but the texture was like it was. The Malasadas were a nice finish too!
For drinks, the MaiTai was great and the Old Fashioned was a bit strong.
Average food which even is an area of over the top pricing was well overpriced.
One of my favorite restaurants. The drinks are very unique and interesting.
Food was good and the rum and mixed drinks were fantastic.
This restaurant's food is much better than you might expect in a shopping center environment. Superb steak and wonderful duck breast. The malasada dessert was unbelievably good and the service was friendly and wonderful. Best meal we had on the Big Island.
Another nice meal at the shack. Not as good as last time, but still a nice experience.
Loved it! Best food and drink I had on the island!!! I’m a big fan
Kuleana Rum Shack was quite delicious. We were treated very kindly and our server was attentive. We wanted something a bit more quiet so we could talk better and may not have come if we had known there was music. But, glad we did and we'll come next time after 7:00.
We liked the open airy feeling and our table by the window to see the plants. Not the beach but still a good pick.
Waitress and service was excellent, food was very, very good, open air seating because of COViD and the musician/music was a plus. Plus they gave my wife a rose for Valentines Day.
Great place. Open air, feels very safe, with good spacing of tables. Friendly staff and tasty food.
Had the full flight of Rum tasting. Food was great.
Everything was great, service, food and drinks. Drinks are a bit o. The pricey side.
Great food and super service. We will be back.
Not enough wait staff. Our waiter was having to practically run. He was super nice.
Great space with wonderful food, service and an excellent rum cocktail menu. Made us feel special by being friendly and attentive. By far our favorite establishment in Waikoloa Beach Village. Looking forward to going back and trying some other dishes.
Food was delicious and Joy is just a delight! I would have enjoyed my meal if not so cold from all the doors open and the wind whipping through.
Stoked about the Rums. Loved the energy of the server who did her description of the tasting.
Service was good, food good. Not a big menue. Would like to have a vegetarian burger option.
Poi in Kampachi was underwhelming.
Cocktails pretty tasty, but for the cost too little.
Love the sustainability.
Enjoyed the live music but be forewarned, the acoustics are terrible and noise level is high. The lemongrass opakapaka special was bland and the fish was over-cooked. My companions enjoyed their pork entree and drinks. If you like rum you’ll be happy here.
Terrific live music and creative bartending.
Great food. We had the tofu curry, shrimp tempura, and mochiko chicken. All we cooked perfectly. And the Caesar salad was one of the best I have had. They were busy, but provided great service and fabulous cocktails as well as the wonderful food. We will be going back!
The staff was great. We actually choose to have dinner there after reading online that their meat for their burgers is made in house. The meat had absolutely no flavor at all. Meat was cooked perfectly. Unfortunately, it was room temperature if that, onions were cold, the cheese was a joke. Maybe three crumbles. The bun was ice cold We ordered the wedge salad I’d give it a B We did not asked for a new prepared burger because we did not was to make a fuss. Maybe chef was having a bad night.
Joy was amazing! Thanks for the amazing dinner and knowledge about rum!
Great service...glad to see you have reopened. Great cocktails.
Great Food and excellent employee's. We went there 2x's on our vacation. Have already recommended to folks in the condo complex we stayed in.
We booked the special rum tasting event last minute and showed up to a closed restaurant. We were looking forward to experiencing their rum. I know this is a place filled with passion about their products, however if you make a special event, please show up to host it.
Amazing service and fantastic food!
Excellent rum cocktails. Have a bunch of pupus and skip the entrees.
Great meal - our second visit. We had the fish special which was ahi with a couple of very tasty sauces.
Absolutely amazing! My newest favorite place to dine and socialize.
First time and very impressed. Good food and the drinks amazing. Mia tia really strong but smooth.
The food was limited with Covid, but a good menu and strong service. Amount of food was price worthy and good tasting. Was little disappointed with no kids (Kiki) menu at this time, but they will be fixing that as time goes on I was told.
Good location and I will enjoy going back.
Food was really mediocre. Sent the wings back. Pork Quesadilla was tasty. But the menu is limited. They don’t really make much of the rum tastings. Just another mall restaurant.
Many comments about tbe mai tai being traditional but it wasn't nor was it strong. That's not to say it wasn't good. Food was pretty good, prices were in line with HI lrices. Good covid spacing. Would probably give it another try.
The menu has downgraded like many restaurant unfortunately. Our favorite cocktail is no longer available and our favorite appetizer Ahi nachos was a disappointment. It is now four won ton chips with poke. Gone are the poke dishes and Hulu Hulu chicken. And they have changed the malasadas. We found the sauces very good but it is always to dip or dunk the malasadas. It was an expensive night out to leave feeling underwhelmed. All food tasted good but no longer unique. Not sure we will return anytime soon
Had a very nice meal sitting outside at the Rum Shack. Very much enjoyed the Poke and chips along with the Ahi and curried rice. The rum drinks were very interesting. We will be back as it is a 6 minute walk from our condo.
We were glad that they have reopened! Our side of the island needs more outdoor dining! Mahalo! Was somewhat disappointed that there menu has changed due to change in partnership. Food is still excellent and I love the ambience. Our server was extra extra friendly (much appreciated) just needs a tighter fitting mask keep nose covered and less need to touch it. We will watch it evolve and continue to support.
