Nick our waiter was OUTSTANDING! Celebrated my father & son’s birthday... what a pleasure it was... we will be back.
Best meal we had on Maui and our server was FANTASTIC
Food was great, service great and drinks done well
Although they were not offering the Kama'aina discount that we always go for, we were still happy to spend our valentine's day dinner there. The price for the portions were a little high but being at a high end restaurant that was expected. We come here at least 2 to 3 times per year and we have noticed that some portions have definitely gotten smaller while prices have increased a little as well. Overall we were still happy with our dinner, but will likely only be dining here when we can take advantage of our kama'aina discount so that we get the most bang for our buck, especially when it comes to cocktails. Without the 25% off on cocktails, we definitely would not be ordering more than 1 drink at $20.
Louis is an awesome waiter and made the dining experience very special. Every dish that he brought out was delicious. Extraordinary evening at the Ko
The Portuguese Soup was good comfort food, but the rest of the menu seemed a little uninspired. Had a much better dinner at Duo the night before and Cuatro in Kihei the night after. Too bad, since the setting has so much potential. At the Fairmont, eat at Nick’s Fishmarket. Much nicer.
Beautiful venue / delicious food/ attentive service
Truly amazing experience, exceptional care given by all Ko’s team
We had heard good things about Ko and had a gift card for the Fairmont. For my birthday we chose to dine here.
The service was solid, the restaurant nice and ambiance was ok, mostly outdoor dining.
The food to me was a little overpriced, a little pretentious and I was honestly glad I had a gift card otherwise I would have been very disappointed to spend well over $100 on a dinner.
For the price, I would certainly expect more flavor and better quality food.
As I mentioned, service was good, the server was very attentive but my fiancé was a little disappointed that nothing special was done even though they all knew it was a birthday celebration.
Food was excellent!
It was my birthday....and everything was perfect....
the food, the table, the ambience and the service. I could go anywhere I wanted to for my birthday dinner and I am so glad that I chose Ko's.
Seated promptly at a nice table overlooking the grounds. Interesting menu, but we were not very adventurous. My fresh fish entree was quite good, but not 5 star. KO is the best restaurant in the Fairmont so certainly worth a try, particularly if you are staying there.
Thank you for the kama’aina!
Our waiter Louis was exceptional. Very knowledgeable, fun and excellent recommendations.
We ate here twice on this trip and booked a third reservation for our last night. The first meal, on our first night in Maui provided great service and food quality. The second visit was so poor that do
we cancelled our reservation for our final night. Our waiter seemed nervous and inexperienced and the food was not even average. Both my husbands and my main course fish dishes that were served lukewarm. The accompanying side dishes were actually cold ( should have been hot). Neither of us ate more than a bite of the sides. For the price, this restaurant should provide a fabulous experience from start to finish. Very disappointing.
Ko is one of our favourite. Have dined and enjoyed their meal preparations for past 17 years. We have lost count of our visits but would be over 50 Food and ingredients are exceptional !! The chef team is always happy to make dietary adjustments or satisfy a preference. This particular evening was near perfect until the folios arrived. 9 of us were dining ... we had indicated when we sat down that easiest for separate bills. Evening was lovely. Cocktails great Food fantastic ... bills came wrong. Our table was very accommodating trying to help her correct them. We sat 45 minutes .... and received 6 versions of folios. Still trying so politely to help our sever. It was when a very inappropriate comment came out of servers mouth that we started to be impatient. I will wait for a manager to contact me. Would have been a Perfect evening with great friends ... just an odd ending to the night
Beautiful outdoor setting. Fabulous food but appetizer and entree proved too much. Have the lobster tempura.
Our meals were fresh and delicious. Service was slower than usual, but friendly. Our table was not the best, being stuck near the hotel hallway.
Disappointing given its high reviews. We were expecting a fine dining experience but instead dined among people in flip flops and cut off Jeans with tee shirts. The service seemed to be lowered to the standards of the clientele. It was simply average. We would not return.
Great!!!! I look be the food, staff, presentation discount, every thing
A wonderful dining experience for my wife and I on her birthday. Great food and thoughtful service made for a very enjoyable meal.
Experienced and knowledgeable waiter. He not only loves food but loves his job. The menus is built around the history of immigrants to Hawaii from japan, Portugal, Etc. The food is expertly prepared. Extremely fresh. I have dined here 4 times and have never left unhappy. It is an experience and worth the cost
Amazing place! I loved it! Even had dessert because the meal was so good that I didn’t want it to end.
Sunday night special (LauLau) OMG it was fantastic! We will be back just for that. The salad, was just ok, but everything else was great. I had the special, and requested steamed vegetables instead of the potatoes, they were great about the request. The staff was excellent, our server was fantastic, and we all enjoyed!
Food good, but my fish arrived overcooked so it was dry - otherwise very good
The Portuguese soup appetizer was one of the best we ever had. Would go back there just for the soup.
Lobster was over cooked but the rest of the evening was great.
The meal was very expensive and not worth it. Our calamari was not very good as there was more breading than calamaris. My burger was excellent but we had to pay extra for fries. My husband’s ahi salad was very ordinary. We would not go back.
We really enjoyed our dinner experience - food was wonderful and a great taste of unique regional foods. Our waiter Bjorn was very attentive and helpful in selecting our dinners
Superbly fresh fish and sushi, great drinks. Service was attentive. We picked 2 different preparations of monchong and both were great. Fine dinner.
Had an excellent server who helped guide and give his input on the menu. When the food came out by the good runner they called us by our last name which was really impressive. Food was great better then other restaurants in Fairmont and other resorts we have ate at. Views weren’t as soon as some other restaurants but the food made up for it
The food was great as usual. But never in the multiple times I’ve dined at Ko have been treated with bad service. Our female server was rude, checked on us twice throughout the whole dinner & forgot that it was my sisters birthday (when the hostess and someone in our party had told her). The ambiance and delicious food made up for the bad service, but I don’t think my family and I will be dining there again.
Loved getting a “traditional” meal. The food was delicious and the servers were helpful and friendly
We had the most fabulous experience at Ko. We requested a quiet table and got a lovely table with a view that was very private. The service was exceptional. For appetizers, my SO had the vegetable tempura, which was crisp and hot (temp), and I had the Mauka salad which was fabulous, although I couldn’t identify the fern shoots. For the entree, my partner had a fish special with the macadamia preparation, which he raved about (he loves fish and said this was exceptionally fresh) and I had the vegetarian curry which had an incredible broth and the vegetables were out of this world. For dessert, my SO had the chocolate cake which was deeply chocolate and super rich, while I had the Kona creme brûlée. You can’t even imagine how silky and full-bodied it was. Outstanding! The wine list is exceptional here. I will dream of coming back to Maui and eating here at Ko.
Wonderful atmosphere. They made us feel very special on our anniversary. Food and drinks were excellent! Overall the best restaurant experience on this Hawaiian trip. We will be back!
Very nice place.
Beautiful, sophisticated casual open air covered terrace dining. Menu was select, perfectly prepared, with delicious, innovative Asian fusion flavoring.
Excellent food, especially the daily special. Great service for us with 3 kids. Work definitely go again.
We had such a wonderful time here. The food is absolutely incredible and is matched with the service. I'm still thinking about this fish dish we had there that was wrapped in leaves a month later! Definitely try it! Also, I am strictly DF/GF and they made accommodations with ease.
Great service and good food, but not exceptional compared to similar price level restuarants in Wailea.
