We had 4 appetizers and loved the ahi cubes and shrimp with lavender cream sauce. The wine was excellent. We also thought the service and timing was very good. We are locals and were disappointed that since the restaurant reopened in November that they went from 2 for 1 appetizers or entre and 25% off for drinks to now a 15% discount on food alone. Also they have a poor selection of non alcoholic beers (O'Douls). The locals are struggling and to drastically change the discount doesn't seem like they are supporting their locals at this tough time.
Love the oishi sushi and the selections of deserts!

Disappointing overall experience! 3 1/2 hours for dinner-Party of 10 with 6 kids. Too many complaints to list. Will never dine there again. Poor choice for our NYE meal. One positive-they nailed the dessert with the creativity.

Stunning views of the pool property and ocean beyond. Very pricey but delicious. Service is very good, but needs a bit of work to match the overall experience. Service seemed a touch too casual and ‘diner like.’

We had a great Christmas Eve prix fixe menu which included a delicious lobster bisque, choice of salad or sushi, choice of seafood lau lau, lobster tempura, sirloin or another fish dish that I cannot recall, and a lovely dessert of white chocolate mousse cake with raspberries. All our dishes were very well served and delicious. Our server Matt was great. Restaurant is right next to the adult pool in the Fairmont hotel, there were only a couple of people in the pool when we were there so there wasn’t any noise. Not sure how it is on other days. Overall we had a great experience.

We have loved eating at Ko for years, and were thrilled when they reopened. We expect that restaurants will struggle to deliver at their pre-Covid levels, but this was a poorly prepared meal with very little food. Our server explained that it was part of the "new journey" they are on. I attempted to provide feedback privately to the restaurant, but received no response so I have to assume they are unconcerned.

Not as good as it used to be. My favorite Pupus disappeared from the menu and even the candied ginger with the bill is gone.
Service was spotty.
Concerning were the very large local groups. Not observing covid measures.

We were so happy to see our favorite servers again! We are so happy that Ko is open again! The chef's special was, as always, fantastic. He stuffed monchong with crab and scallops and a sauce that was delicious!
My niece had the Ahi on a rock. She said it was the best ahi she had ever tasted.
My brother-in law had the curry, and ate it down to the plate! He wiped up the last of the sauce with a piece of bread.

Chef Pang and his team got things going again. Amd making am early reservation 5pm) seems just right given our current circumstances and traveler's preference for darker hours.
You can't go wrong here...and they even still offer a Kama'aina discount.

I've had fantastic meals at Ko in the past and have always admired Chef Tylun Pang, but the quality of the food has gone down during Covid. The menu was a lot smaller, which I can understand. My Macadamia Crusted Opah was not hot and it tasted pretty fishy. The salad didn't have enough dressing. The chocolate sponge cake was not what we expected. All in all, it wasn't worth the money.

Overall the dining experience at Ko at Fairmont Kea Lani was good, but not outstanding. Our server Misty was very nice and knew all about the preparations of what we were considering ordering. The food was good, prepared nicely but lacking any real difference of a restaurant that served similar food at half the price. The setting at 8:00pm was lovely and fairly quiet. We shared plates of one "special" of a Maui beef filet and two head-on shrimp (not as moist as I would have liked) and an Amberjack filet seared in a wok - again prepared nicely but lacking in any discernable "local flavor". Our dessert was a coffee flavored cream de brulee - which did have a strong coffee flavor on the sugar crust but the coffee cream was somewhat chunky and not very smooth.

Waiter seemed to have a lot of trouble with our food allergies, he probably went back and forth to the kitchen 3 times and took forever to order. And then we had to send something back once the food finally came because he had made a mistake.
Assuming it was the end of a long shift (we were the last reservation of the evening).
The food itself was good, especially the ahi tuna appetizer. Ambiance felt...like a hotel restaurant, which is what it is.
All in all, if you don’t have food allergies, prob not a bad place to visit.
Appetizers felt overpriced, but entrees seemed fair...

Our first visit to Ko was 4 years ago the day we were married and everything from the drinks to the pupus to the entree was delicious. The atmosphere and views are always on point. We live on island an usual sit at the bar, but with COVID and having a larger party the table seating was just as nice.
