My wife and I came to KoAn for our first wedding anniversary. The restaurant is beautiful and the service was fantastic. Most importantly, the food was delicious. The appetizers and sushi roll that we ordered were very well made. Our entrees were wonderful. As good as all of that is, the desserts there are on a different level. Each plate looks like a work of art and has a taste to match. I’m someone who always orders “the chocolate dessert” but at KoAn that rule is out the window. Every dessert I’ve ever tried there has been amazing and unique.
The food and ambiance at Ko An is wonderful. High ceiling and modern atmosphere. The craft drinks are delicious. I have brought guests the last two times and they have raves about how good the food is. In particular the trout and Korean barbecue are great!
The food was well prepared. The menu shows inspiration although the flavor combinations were good but not necessarily memorable. The price point was a little high for the food but not unreasonable. The wine selection was adequate. When I return, I will favor the more "southern" influenced dishes rather than the more traditional asian dishes.
Incredible dining experience, loved every bit of it!
I eat here all of the time, and it is really an outstanding eatery, however, on my last visit There was something wrong at the bar, all of our drinks were not correctly made.
Two were sent back but were still not right.
One gin and tonic had no tonic in it, just tasted like water was added.
Bourbon was watered down, etc.
Don't know what is going on, but really needs fixing.
Our dinner at Ko*an was pretty amazing. The food is absolutely delicious. I can recommend all 5 dishes we had - there was nary a flaw. Steamed buns with lobster salad filling - oh My. The lettuce wraps - delicious. The duck confit - just right. The Catfish - wonderful. And the pear dessert - really, really good. Service was excellent, the wine list was well chosen and fairly priced. I recommend Ko-an very highly!
Very good food and excellent service!
Best meal ever in USA
Very large but well space seating. Excellent food. The service was great but a bit slow.
Service, ambiance and wine were top notch.
I think the food was better when it was An.
Sushi was really delicious. Couple of small misses with the gyoza, cauliflower, and edemame.
There should be a meat option for the gyoza. The “chicken” taste lingers in your mouth for longer than I’d like.
Edemame needed salt and the cauliflower tempura batter was soggy.
First time to ko-an. Surprised at the size of the restaurant. Beautiful inside. Very classy Asian restaurant. Our server was outstanding. I commented that she was very good at her job, which sounds simple, but is getting more and more difficult to find these days. Food was outstanding. Several sushi choices. Seasoning on edamame was fantastic. Will certainly go back
Excellent food and service
What a fabulous meal! Everything was outstanding and the service impeccable!
We can wait to return. Mark was fantastic.
I have referred to this visit to Ko-an as a true dining experience! It was nothing less than phenomenal.
Food, service, and atmosphere all fabulous!! Trendy but zen. Just what the Dr. ordered after a long week.
Steamed buns with lobster salad, lettuce wraps, unagi, Wagyu beef, and pistachio dessert were all incredible.
And the much needed wine:)
I cannot wait to go back!
The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. The food was delicious and very well presented. The decor is elegant yet comfortable.
Pretty tasteless food. I think the ambiance is lovely but don’t expect great food
First tile here...and what a nice place! Low key, classic, serene...will be back!!
Food is not good enough to justify the cost. Better options available
It was our 30th anniversary and we wanted to celebrate with a delicious relaxing meal. In these covid-times we preferred to eat outdoors and there is no place nicer than Ko-An.
Our waitress Gabby was excellent both in terms of recommendations, service and picture-taking (the other servers are very accommodating if you need something and your server is not nearby!)
The food was yummy. We are typically pesco-vegan but we always splurge on desserts, especially on big occasions. Tonight we had the new Ko-An fall salad (arugula and turnips and daikon in a ginger dressing), the cauliflower appetizer, the spicy salmon roll and the fish curry. For dessert we savored the new Ko-An pear tart and the chocolate dessert.
Everything was magnificent. We had a spectacular, celebratory evening!
The food was great the excellent service accompanied it and I would consider going back.
Everything we ordered looked good and tasted great.
The food was impeccable. Gabby our server was so lovely. And a great playlist! Loved it. Will be back
I've been to ko-an twice now and I have recommended it to my friends. They offer small plates and entrees. I have not eaten an entree at ko-an yet because I've shared the small plates with friends who have gone with me. The flavors are outstanding. They have a cauliflower small plate that I would eat as my main course if someone did not want to share. The peach dessert we had was like a charcuterie of fruit and flavors to mix. The sushi they offer is delicious. I personally cannot eat hot spicy food and the server was able to explain to me which dishes could have the hot spice not included and those dishes that could not. Depending on what you order, this restaurant can be expensive, but it is worth the price. I highly recommend this restaurant.
Taking advantage of the gorgeous weather, we decided to dine outside (we made reservations). Our server was informative, she ask questions about what we liked/disliked and made spot on recommendations. The lobster steamed rolls and the Nam Khao were amazing- nice sized portions and so very flavorable. We also enjoyed the Ebe sushi roll which was also super tasty. For dessert, try the pear tart. You will not be disappointed. We will definitely be back to try the other dishes!!!
Mark, our server, was very professional, helpful and friendly. We had a noise concern (from a large party in a separate room) which he solved by closing the door. Cauliflower small plate ( not that small) was shared and was delicious. Prawns and grits was outstanding, didn’t know grits could taste that good.
We will definitely be back.
First time for us
Great food and service
We will be back
Could not have picked a better place for a birthday dinner and a girls night out.
The food and service here is top-notch! Have been on several occasions and am never disappointed.
Always a wonderful time at ko an. Food and service are den one to none.
My husband and I had not eaten here since pre-Covid and went the other night for dinner on the patio. We were really impressed with their outdoor seating space—very comfortable, spacious, and lovely ambiance. The service was excellent, and the food was beyond delicious. We particularly loved the lobster steamed buns small plate, Thai red curry entree, and the pistachio dessert special. Great cocktail selections, as well. Highly recommend for a special night out! We’ll definitely be back!
Everything was great ! The food, service and experience . Went for a birthday dinner but will return for date night.
Excellent food, service, and experience. Loved the patio space!
Love the outdoor patio dining. Feels very spacious, safe and private for a delicious special meal. Service was fantastic!
Food and service were wonderful. Love this place.
The cauliflower is heavenly. Freaking awesomeness at its finest. A must try! Nice ambiance.
Great food! Service was fantastic!
Food and cocktails were excellent. Not an inexpensive place but everything was fabulous
Outstanding dishes, and in particular the sushi and fish apps and entrees, and the desserts: perhaps the best in the greater Triangle (no exaggeration!).
Awesome atmosphere, food, and service. We sat outside and the place is great. A bit pricey but food was excellent. Would go on special occasion.
Wonderfully crafted drinks, delicious and well presented meals and attentive service.
