The food was delicious ,wait staff explained each dish and components which made the meal even more interesting and enjoyable. The desserts were perfect not too sweet and perfect marriage of flavors . The best pannecotta ive ever had
This is a place that wants you to think this is fine French cuisine but it just isn't. I had their Duck Cassoulet for lunch. It was a duck leg in beans with a few extra undercooked pieces of celery in it. No crunch crust, no sausage, no bacon. Just kind of boring. I suppose the chef imagined they were simplifying and deconstructing the class dish. The marketing department said, "And it's really great that we can make it so cheaply and still charge $32 for it."
It is a nice place with good decor and ambience but for me it's all about the food and it was really lacking.

Beautifully designed, elegant casual seating, superb layout. Pristine kitchen! Handcrafted cocktails to enjoy, great variety of wine and premium spirits. We love the place! And that was before we tested the food. We chose the Lobster Caesar as an appetizer before our lunches. The Pre-Fixe menu was well thought out and great portions. Butternut squash bisque to start. Delicious! Sea Bream was to die for. Crispy skin, tender & moist flesh!! Accompanied by Brussel Sprouts, Mushrooms, and Roasted Miniature Potatoes! The Fig Panna Cotta was amazing, and I usually do not like any dessert. But I thoroughly enjoyed this creation by Chef Esnault! Thank you for a wonderful meal and a very enjoyable experience. We shall see you this coming Friday for the Chef Tasting Menu! Our server and the restaurant's entire staff were amazing. This is the art of fine dining at its best! They made us feel at home and wonderfully comfortable. We love everything about Knife Pleat!

So happy they are back to doing business. Chef Tony is amazing!!! The wine list is fabulous and the menu changes all the time based on what fresh ingredients are available. Service is top notch. They will wait on you hand and foot. Ya know the restaurant has class when the waiter picks up your party is celebrating an occasion when nobody mentions anything. For example, we went to celebrate my birthday and I had a little bday gift bag on the bench next to me. None of us had mentioned anything to the waiter and he picked up that someone in our party was celebrating a birthday and prepared a wonderful little dessert bday celebration. Service like that is so rare nowadays. Please do yourself a favor and go. I recommend sitting out In the garden terrace as the tables are very charming.

Can’t wait to go back and try their dinner selections, the menu looked amazing! The food is excellent and the service very accommodating. Victor, the sommelier, is an outstanding choice for pairing wines with dishes, either by the bottle or by the glass.
My husband likes his black truffle Brie, but not as much his Cassoulet. My king salmon is just average. Service was good.
The service was very friendly and accommodating. The cocktail recommendation -the smooth operator- was perfect, smooth (pardon the redundancy) and it tasted very good. The black truffle brie melts very delicate on the bread, the butter lettuce salad was combine very well with fresh and delicious herbs, and the duck cassoulet was very good, maybe a dish for cold days- but nevertheless very tasty.
We are so grateful that Knife Pleat was still open! My husband and I celebrated our anniversary at a beautiful lunch.

I attended the first Knife Pleat alfresco dinner at the lovely Bridge of Gardens at South Coast Plaza. The staff literally moved the restaurant outside to recreate the same elevated experience while observing current safety protocols. The dinner consisted of six delightful courses, each complimented by a compelling wine pairing. From the moment the creamy Vichysoisse Soup was served with a generous shaving of summer black truffles, we knew it was going to be a special dinner! Chef Esnault's terrine was a classic presentation, highlighted with seasonal peach, basil and toasted brioche. It would be difficult to determine which of the main courses were more delicious, so I'll just say butter poached Maine Lobster and Crescent Farms Duck done two ways with breast and leg confit. The Brie de Meaux Napolean served as the traditional cheese course, done in an attractive and richly savory way, served again with a generous portion of shaved truffles. Finally, the v.s.o.p. mousse, almond cake and crumble was served inside a caramel globe, which showcased the exceptional talents of the pastry chef. It was a satisfying way to end the meal. The wine pairings by Sommelier Victor perfectly complimented the dinner, and I particularly enjoyed the Savenneries which was a tip of the hat to Chef Tony Esnault's roots in the Loire Valley. Service as always, was crisp and professional and friendly. Chef Tony and Yassmin Sarmadi are the consummate hosts and I always leave feeling satisfied, yet ready to return for my next dinner. The Orange County dining scene has really improved in recent years and Knife Pleat is among the finest!

So glad we are back now Knife Pleat has reopened on the patio. Beautiful setting and same great service. More creative cocktails on the list. We used to sit at bar all the time before the Covid-19 shut down and now we realized this outdoor patio is a true blessing.

Knife Pleat delivers on all levels. Entering the restaurant I was immediately greeted and seated. Service all evening was impeccable. Not only food service but Victor the sommelier was quite knowledgable and the wine list was as comprehensive as any in OC. Food is off the charts. Executive chef Tony Esnault is brilliant. Steak tartare is perfectly blended and savory. I would also recommend the duck and the legumes de saison. The rabbit pasta was also delicious.
Overall 5 stars for food/service/ ambiance/ beverage and hospitality. Amazing Michelin star experience

Delicious. Wonderfully executed. Lastingly good impression. However, would not add the black truffle to risotto again as it has almost no taste. We expected a slightly mushroomy taste to the slices of truffle.
