Beautiful sunset views off the patio and excellent food . Not a disappointment.
Save the cash and watch the sunset with a slice of pizza. The food is terrible. Service average. Price stupid expensive. If you have no basis to compare fine dining with, you may believe your meal is decent, but the food quality is disappointingly not up to par. Absolutely beautiful at sunset, however not worth it. I hope they pull themselves together and improve the food quality and bring it to a standard this place deserves.
Best place on the beach.
It was our Anniversary and we ate outside - the sever was very good and accommodating for my gluten allergy. We really enjoyed our dinner
Not worth the money. Food was average.
The views and live music (thanks Bolo Hawaii!) were outstanding, the service was friendly but very slow, and the food was only fair. Considering the cost, weigh out what you want from the experience. The food was not worth the high cost, but the views and live music made us feel much better about how much we paid for the experience.
I would NOT recommend eating at this restaurant. The oysters were served to us at room temperature. I ordered my filet mignon medium rare and it came to the table extremely well done. When the server asked how we were enjoying our meal we told him about the over cooked meat. The only thing he did was to offer to have it re-fired which we declined because my husband already had his meal and would have to wait. No other means to correct the oversight was offered. Not even an apology. Over priced and it DID NOT meet the level of expectation given the prices. We will not be back.
Menu was ok.
Server was. Bit rude but the rest of the staff was great!
Beautiful sunset, delicious food and overall a great experience!
We have loved the KPC for over 20 years …….. it has the most beautiful sunset! Usually the meals are fantastic but this year the meal was the worst meal we have ever had on the island!! Also the most expensive $$$$$$ We will never go back!
We had a lovely dinner. Our server (Alfredo) was really awesome and accommodating. Fave part was Kamboca Kale Salad! So, so tasty.
The food was delicious, the menu elegant, the ambience very pleasing in a beautiful setting on the outside back patio. And the service was perfect: professional, attentive and knowledgeable..
For the price you pay you would think your meal would be at least warm. Both my meals were cold, but husbands Beef Braised Short Ribs were dry and my Hanger Steak was overly tough and chewy. Everything on the main entree plate was cold. the only good from this dinner was the wine and the view.
This is a very romantic spot (outdoors on the patio Oceanside). The fix price menu offered many tantalizing choices. The 3 course menu was all excellent. We had wines by the glass and the choices were well procured from lesser known but outstanding wineries. They matched well with the food choices. It might have been one of the most memorable dining experiences ever but it was very windy with chairs tipping over — not the restaurants fault.
You expect to spend a lot at a resort. So ignore the prices. The flavor in the food was great. The greeters at the front door were snobby but we got over that. The waiter was wonderful. We are a fan of Moncton and that is their specialty so I have a weakness for this restaurant. I do recommend it but don’t set your expectations too high because of the stops at the front door.
Good food but over the top expensive. Excellent waiter but a very disjointed ambiance.
Location is the thing. Food good but not outstanding except the hot oysters which were wonderful.
Would not recommend. Service team was good. Food was average for the very expensive price. Almost everything on the menu was an additional charge to the chefs priced menu. I would not eat here again. The patio has a gorgeous view but that didn’t make up for the overall average experience we had.
We enjoyed the 3 course experience so we could take in the sunset and outside patio. The food choices were great - Alfredo our waiter was incredible!
They don't tend to answer their phones which can be frustrating when trying to update a reservation but the food and service once there were amazing!
Phenomenal views and fantastic food! We really enjoyed the entire experience. Every course was delicious and creative. The restaurant is a little pricey, but it’s right on the water, and the food was worth it. Great service as well.
We arrived 10 minutes early for our reservation and had to wait about 15 minutes past our reservation because they said our table was not ready and the whole time we waited they seated at least four party’s before us. The service was slow I sat there and watched the staff walk around our table helping everyone else, it was like we were invisible. We sat there for 15 minutes before we were finally asked if we wanted a drink…
We had the chefs tasting menu on the outside deck. Quite expensive, and dark. But the food was really good, smaller gourmet portions, so if you want big portions this isn't it.
Really nice to sit out there under the stars and have a relaxed dinner with music.
Was really windy while we were there but no complaints since it was super warm.
If you want a classy relaxed menu, this is it, if you want big homey food it isn't
Outstanding food. Excellent chef and server. We did the open menu and were seated outside and could hear the surf. Dinners were well worth the cost
Service was great, location perfect
Amazing way to end our Big Island Vacation
We had a great experience. Service was great, food was excellent. Windy night, but all went well. Would go back again with no hesitation. Prix fix menu was a good value. Excellent sunset venue.
We were there on their first night of reopening. I expected less than stellar performance, but the food was excellent. I had the tuna med. rare and it was excellent. My wife had the fish special which resebled Ted snapper and it was also excellent. The Mai Tais were a tad underwhelming but overall we were quite happy.
The scenery was awsome but abit windy. Overall enjoyable experience for our anniversary
We've eaten at KPC many, many times and our experience has always been fabulous, until October 10. However, I would also say that it was the 1st day open after being closed for COVID reasons. We would have enjoyed the Chef's experience more if there wasn't an additional charge for every add-on. Just set a price and maybe a few add-on's. $85/pp + $25/pp for wine pairing is very reasonable, but there was an add for crab cakes, small filet, brussel sprouts. The "chef's menu" has 6 dinner selections and then 5 more for add-on, seemed a bit much. Our server was Ryan and he rocked! Unfortunately, my steak was cold, there was nothing on my plate that was hot. My husband had the short ribs and they were hot and very flavorful. The Grilled Caesar Salad is usually my favorite, but it ended up being wilted and the jalepeno dressing did not have a spicy flavor. The Banana Evolution was fabulous! I do think the meal was not up to our expectations due to "reopening, so we will return and Ryan's service was excellent, he could tell that we weren't particularly happy and he did a great job at customer service. I completely understand the desire to have a table cloth, however, when the wind is blowing 30 mph, you might want to re-think the table settings. I also understand the wind blows a great deal on the BI, but there is a point that plan B works better. The couple next to us, had a wine bottle tumble in the wind, knocking over a wine glass, there were napkins blowing around and we watched other customers holding their glasses and napkins on their laps. It is a beautiful setting, so don't distract your guests with anything other than a great sunset, fabulous food and excellent service. We will be back in May and look forward to a better experience.
Great setting. Food was prepared perfectly, solid wine list, and oysters were amazing.
The view, food, service, and ambience was outstanding! A night we will will never forget!
Amazing food, service, sunset, and ambiance. Would go there again!
Excellent food and view
We went to celebrate a special birthday,we had booked in advance . I tried to call them but they had no way to reach them. We did get a table but a very bad one near the stairs. You pay extra to sit outside but did mot feel worth it with such a table.
Overall food was very good.
The server was good and got us nice desert for birthday but the facility setup was sloppy and inconsiderate.
Ate at KPC while staying at the Hilton. Staff were friendly but not particularly happy to be there. As it turned out, they are limping to closure this week with no clear date to reopen. It is hard not to judge the restaurant by the Hilton property which was someone’s bad idea back in the day and long overdue for a makeover. Honestly, they need to do a Vegas style implosion and start from scratch. Hope the wonderful people of Hawaii can hang on through unemployment and find a better resort as their employer when things turn around.
The server and executive chef were phenomenal in making sure our dietary restrictions were met throughout the 3 course meal and we were so blown away by the exceptional service. The ambiance and sunset were of course, stunning and icing on the cake. This is our favorite special occasion location for sure!
A beautiful setting! It can't get too much better if you have an outdoor table. The food was okay, and our server was very nice. The meal was bit too pricey for what we received, however.
The food is exceptional and even if you're not a foodie, the experience is worth the time and effort.
