Great view of the sunset from outside!
Sitting out near the ocean with good company at night eating killer food awesome
This used to be a good restaurant. The quality of food and service has gone down, yet the prices have gone up.
Food was excellent but expensive. Waterfront dining was beautiful. Service was mediocre at best. Cats are annoying.
The ambiance is worth the trip. Service from Amy was excellent. Very customer friendly & respectful. The music duo (Sat evening 11/10/18) was thoroughly enjoyable. Tasteful (not loud) selections & conducive to getting people to want to dance in the sand... Nick (Restaurant manager 11/10 evening) was very friendly & willing to spend time with patrons. Front desk staff helpful in choosing t-shirts/baseball caps. An overall great/fun experience. We were apprised of fun atmosphere prior to dinner, but was truly pleased with our experience. Lava Lava did not disappoint. Thank you, gina E
Great spot for our anniversary dinner. Steak was super tender and the sunset was gorgeous. Staff was very attentive and friendly
Couldn’t love this place more! It was so perfect and delicious!
You can't beat the ambieñce. My wife and I have dinner here every year for my birthday usually with friends. The food is good, the view is usually spectacular, the drinks are average and the service is usually good. It's not cheap but overall it's a good place for a special occasion.
Restaurant is spectacular, we had the surf and turf and it was amazing. Great cocktails as well. If available, upgrade to the $25 per person VIP seating, most amazing sunset you’ll ever see.
Our first experience with KPC was on our honeymoon in 2010 and it was a wonderful and memorable experience. Since that time we have treated several loved ones and friends to the experience, including my brother who we refer to as the “Anthony Bourdain” of the family. The prices have increased so it is definitely a special occasion restaurant, but intimate and unique.
It was average. Nothing outstanding other than the view at sunset but then it’s dark.
Amazing location, beautiful sunset on the patio. Staff very attentive, great service. Would recommend to anyone visiting the area. $$ but worth it for a splurge.
Absolutely gorgeous unobstructed sunset while dining on amazing food and drinks. They even remembered my husbands birthday. Recommended to all!
Ok food but expect much better at a Hilton resort. Service was very good and steak cooked perfectly just not much value for the price.
Embarrassing food. Crab cake worse than frozen..amazing they could make and serve something this poor. Waitress didn't give us the daily specials. We heard another table being offered those.
The weather didn’t allow an outside table, but that didn’t matter the food was fantastic. Two fish dishes that we couldn’t decide which one was better. Two make it even better or server who was great brought out a complimentary desert of of coconut cream brûlée to complete our meal.
Food quality was poor and expensive. For example, the $80 lobster was dry and chalky tasting.
Nice location with expansive views of ocean. Go for the sunset.
20th Anniversary dinner, booked 9 days in advance. Arrived on time. Hostess was cold and did wish us a happy anniversary and then said we had to wait and promptly looked down and sort of forgot about us. For two customers ahead of us she invited them to wait across the way in an outdoor lounge. She didn’t do that for us. We wandered into a lounge next to the entrance and ordered a drink and waited. After seeing the two couples ahead of us and three who came after us escorted to their tables I decided to go confront the hostess about the situation. She had forgot about us. Had I not said something, no doubt our “guaranteed” Ali’i outdoor seating wouldn’t have happened because by the time we were escorted to our table there was only one surf side table left. Nobody apologized to us.
Food was fine and waiter was good with us from then on, but their service and performance on the greeting and first impressions side was damaged already and nobody executed ANY damage control. A disappointingly sad 20th Anniversary dinner experience for us at KPC.
My husband and I went to celebrate our anniversary. We were seated right at the very edge of the water and it couldn’t have been more romantic. The food was delicious and came out quickly. Our server was pleasant. The prices were not bad at all. I would definitely recommend this place and will be back again!
Best place to watch the sunset!!
My husband and I had an amazing anniversary meal and enjoyed watching the sun set. But, I was extremely disappointed that there were 2 cats that would not leave us alone especially for the $280 it cost for dinner! And when we asked the servers to do something about it they said that it’s tough because they were outside! It was a fine dining establishment on a resort at a Hilton! And I and the couple next to us are severely allergic to cats.
This was the first time that I ate at KPC. I read the reviews ahead of time and saw a few low ratings and it made me somewhat wary. I was absolutely totally pleased with my experience and I can only conclude that those people had to be having a bad day. The food, the service, mother nature, were all spectacular the day I was there. Hats off to our server, Cornelius.
Best part of this restaurant is the view. It was our anniversary and they did not celebrate or recognize it. The food preparation and quality was ok at best. My fish was good but was served on a bed of mashed potatoes, so every bite of fish was stuck on mashed potatoes, totally destroyed the texture and flavor of the fish. Very pricey and not worth the money. Avoid this place.
Food was not great. Service was sub par. Their renowned dishes were not memorable. Wouldn’t go again.
Should have been better, especially at the price. Had a better dinner at Roy’s.
Great food with an amazing view! A memorable dinner.
Food was very good - especially the fish. However, none of our group of four felt it was worth the price. The by-the-glass selections of wine was poor for a restaurant at this price point (a 2016 cab sauv is quite young). The service was a bit obtrusive and we were continually interrupted - we eventually asked our waiter to leave us alone and said we would let him know if we needed anything. At this price point, you expect unobtrusive service. It's nice that there is no loud music piped in or live, and easy conversation should be possible. However, there were three screaming children during a 7:30 seating, one of whom was running around in just a diaper. I know it puts the restaurant in a bad position when customers act that way, but the rest of the diners were listening to screaming and the waitstaff didn't do anything.
Reserved a special table with a view of the sunset months before my 50th birthday. On the day of my birthday, they called to say they were closing the outside because of the rain. I was 500 ft from the restaurant all day. There was no rain. Then we were given a crappy table and Front of House could not have cared less. Server saved what would have been a 1 star visit with free drinks and amuse bouche, as well as birthday dessert. Food was great. Front of House needs serious retraining. We dropped $600+. FOH treated us like gum on their shoes.
Way overpriced for experience. Food was good, menu was limited
It's a long treck back to the restaurant from the main entrance and not a lot to look forward to once you arrive. Service was alright and staff was friendly and engaging, but the food left a lot to be desired. I had the shrimp and squid ink pasta, but the shrimp went to mush in my mouth and the pasta had been cooked within an inch of its life. They gave me my second choice, the NY strip to try again. But it was drowning in a thick and heavy gravey that destroyed any hope of tasting the meat which you were eating. Overall a disappointing meal, wont be returning or recommending.
We have been going to KPC every couple of years for the last 20 years. Their sea food dishes tend to be more Asian influenced then I care for but we have always enjoyed their other dishes. The filet and lobster dish has always been great and you can’t beat the view at sunset.
Three of us ordered this dish tonight and while the lobster was very tender and sweet the steaks were tough and without much flavor. I’m 6’ 4” and it’s a very rare occasion for me to not clean my plate. Today, myself and my two dinner companions each left half our steak uneaten. They were listed in the menu as 6 oz filets but from their texture and degree of gristle they had to be a cheaper cut of beef. They were NOT the filet mignonette we expect On top of the poor quality steak you only only two asparagus spears and I swear what looks like two tablespoons of mashed potatoes hidden underneath one of the lobster tails.
As a starter I also ordered the lobster chowder. Very under seasoned and tasted more like potatoes then anything else.
While our server was great, the food this time was very disappointing. We did let the restaurant know how disappointed we were and we did get two of our three entrees comped. This helped but it was still a very disappointing experience. What was supposed to be our anniversary dinner turned into the most disappointing meal and the most expensive I’ve had in years. Even with the two entrees taken off of our bill (2 x $65) we still ended up paying over $150 for the three of us. I expected more from Hilton.
Spectacular view and excellent food. Don't miss this stop in Waikoloa
Service at this locations needs improvements. Upon arrival/check in, you are asked to go to the bar before you get seated. While we waited, what appeared to be the manager and two other restaurant leads, they were reviewing and going over areas of the bar that needed tending to, Examples: where Items should be stored, items that need fixing, where new paint is needed. This happened through out our evening. As a dinning guest, I don’t need to hear & see this during my ‘dinning experience’, especially on my last night of vacation on this island. (This made it not special at all.) These issues should be addressed when no guest are not around, especially when you only do dinner service. Waiters need to be more aware of there surroundings and not make gestures or complaints about other guests they are attending to when the night is not going as planned. Set aside this, the food was flavorful. Good belly pork buns and well cooked steak. The ink squid pasta had nice presentation and great taste. I probably would not go back because of the service, but if this is what this resort calls their fine dinning... this is only a low 3star but many will show despite of reviews because most other ‘fine dinning’ may take over 45 min drive☹️. So this place banks on that. They do have great views and word of advise, do not pay the extra to be seated closest to the water... you will have regular beach goers/hotel guest walking on the same walkway they place tables at.
Great food and phenomenal view of the sunset. Maui is sometimes visible, depending on the cloud cover. Get an early dinner reservation to sit outside for the best view.
