From a relatively small menu, the chicken was tasty and a good substantial plateful. By contrast, we both felt the slate bearing the lamb meal was a sparse offering and, no matter how tasty (and the puree was lovely), represented poor value for money. Even for a light lunch, the amount of food was disappointing.

We booked for Valentines and the Valentines menu, but were give the general menu by the Manager. When we asked the waiter about the Valentines menu he said he would fetch the manager. I wonder if was because we were two men they assumed we weren’t a couple. Anyway the manager was most apologetic and attentive after this. Overall the service did appear a little chaotic and the other two waiting staff inexperienced. We had an ok meal, but not very romantic! The dining room was Courtly.

I was very happy. It was very quiet as I hoped for, you can really have a conversation or just enjoy your food, that is also well presented and tasty, with flair. I did not see the A la carte Menú, but I was quite impressed with our dishes, service was fast and polite. The Venue it's beautiful and Quirky, Definitely recommended to everyone who likes quiet places

We booked an early evening table on a Saturday. On arrival we were led to the restaurant in the hotel but the only waiter was busy in the next room so we stood around for a while before being acknowledged. He was unaware of the booking (it had been made in the morning) but sat us down at a table of our choice. There was only one other table seated. We we're left with the menu and when the waiter returned for our drinks order we asked if they had a cocktail list. He replied that cocktails are only available if ordered at the hotel bar. When we ordered food it took an age for them to arrive and we were getting peckish so asked the waiter if we could get some bread and butter while waiting. There were side plates and butter knives on the table. After another slow 10 minutes the waiter brought us two slices of toast and a few packets of butter each which made us laugh and slightly concerned about what lay ahead. Fortunately the starters and mains were pleasantly flavorsome. When we asked for the bill after declining desserts the bill was not discounted and the waiter had to take a photo of my reservation on my phone before going into another room and producing the correct bill. After dinner we went over to the bar which looked great with it's refurbished holding cells and jail theme. All in all, nice food, nice dining room shame no one seems to be going.

The restaurant opened recently and because of that it probably needs a little more time to get things right? We thought the food was average , the menu actually a bit boring, nothing overly exciting. There were enough waiters and only a few tables were sold, but they hardly paid attention to us. (They cleared after we finished our mains but we were left alone for almost 20 minutes before anyone offered us coffee or dessert). But most annoying was that the waiter 'forgot' the special soft-opening rate of 50% discount. We knew when we booked there would be a special rate, which was clearly posted online and there was a big screen at the restaurants entrance as well inviting people for the special rate soft opening. But when the bill came we were charged full price. After I asked the waiter about it he said "he forgot about it" and changed the bill. Really? I wonder how many other (less informed) guests he made pay full price. Bad service.
