Sorry but the food was NOT good. I did not really enjoy it for the price.
We always a great time!!!
Everything was wonderful. Food, service, SERVERS, beverages all met expectations.
We went on Mother's Day. Great food and atmosphere! Thank you for the Sunflower!
Nice decor and good cocktails. Menu looks delicious but unfortunately the food does not live up to the expectation. My family of four had Mother’s Day brunch at Jotoro and all ordered a different dish. Not one of us liked our meal. The burrito was bland and mostly beans, the brunch Benedict had an intense lime flavor that overpowered the dish, and the chicken in the quesadilla tasted strange. I don’t usually complain unless the food is inedible and that’s how we felt. The manager was professional and took care of removing the meals from our check. We preferred to leave hungry and eat elsewhere because it was so bad. Only thing I can say is that the peppered maple bacon appetizer was incredible but it’s hard to screw up bacon! This place could be cool if the food tasted good. I’ll never be back nor recommend it.
Waited 50 mins for food to be delivered. When it arrived food was cold. It was redone 20 mins later. Left without eating. I would NOT recomend anyone eating here
Great food, horrible waitress experience. Never came by to ask if we wanted a refill on drinks or even asked how our food was. Complained to management but didn't seem to care. Will have to think about if we go back.
The outside seating was well covered so we weren't sitting under the hot sun. Food was great, drinks a little strong but still delicious. Hosts and server were friendly and quick.
Food was tasty, salsa was just okay with little flavor. The drinks were the worst. All had margaritas and we all agreed that they were horrible and tasted like pure moonshine. I had the spicy watermelon and that one was terrible.
I’ve seen big lines outside this restaurant since they have opened, and I finally found a last minute reservation to give it a chance. We sat outside because the weather was great, but they had extended their outdoor seating to non-restaurant parts of the sidewalk and the entire atmosphere was just weird. A lot of noise from tables close by, and the outdoor high tops were not comfortable to sit for dinner. Drinks were OK, but didn’t leave me wanting more than two. We ordered two drinks each, two appetizers, the fried rice, and our bill was over $100 with tip. Quality of food was two stars at best, all of the dips we had were missing something to the taste profile, and the fried rice was so hot for over 20 minutes we took it home and only had a few bites there. A lot of under 21 looking people there, which ruined a date night atmosphere as they were very loud and they had inappropriate conversations for all to hear. Server was very friendly, but very inattentive and took 20 minutes to finalize the bill. Expected a lot more, I am happy I had Opentable gift cards to help take care of this expensive meal.
Food was horrible, very low quality.
Food was great. Our server very attentive. Great 5 de Mayo for our group
Easy to make reservation, went there on a weekday night and sat outside! Beautiful atmosphere, music wasn’t too loud but could still hear it in the background. Drinks were delicious and for my birthday I got a free shot of the restaurants choosing! Food was 10/10, plating was gorgeous! Waitress was very pleasant and answered all questions and even helped with making suggestions! Would definitely return.
For a restaurant that boasts a Michelin star chef, you think the food would be better! Every time I come to Jotoro, I leave with a big bill and little satisfaction. I have been to the restaurant about 5 times now, each time ordering something different, and not once have I found something that I love. To me, this place is just not worth the cost for the quality of food.
If you come to Jotoro, come for the drinks and get the salsa, guac and cheese combo. THATS IT. Those are the only things worth it in my opinion.
Food was good. Service was a bit lacking however. Our server greeted us promptly and asked if we knew what we wanted to drink yet, we did not. She said she would be back shortly to get our drink order. A lengthy period went by and the server was nowhere to be found. It wasn’t until the manager noticed we had been neglected for a while were we able to put in our entire order. The server promptly came back with our drinks and our appetizer followed shortly after. From there service improved some, but we did wait a bit more of an extended period to get another round of drinks and then to get our check after that. Quality of the food definitely helped salvage our experience.
The food was great. Our waitress was absolutely terrible. When she finally did make an appearance she got our drink order and then we didn’t see her again for literally 15mins. She was talking to other waitresses and waiting by the bar for our drinks and laughing and talking with the bartender. I tried to get her attention... when she finally came back to the table we quickly ordered our appetizers and meal and then didn’t see her again for another 15 mins. until our appetizers appeared. We asked for drink refills and then we didn’t see her again until our food came out and we had to ask for refills again.
Our waitress was Peyton and she was super nice and personable. Helped me decide which margarita to try first, both tasted really delicious (bonus: If you don't finish your drink ask for a togo cup and you can carry it around Sparkman Wharf while you check everything else out. It was pretty quiet when we were there and not too busy, people filed in as we were leaving. The food was great!! The only complaint about the food is more of a personal preference, they have an oak fired grill so the charred pieces of chicken were really charred. Some people like that, just make sure to mention that to your server if you don't enjoy charred meats. I ended up cutting some of it off to avoid eating it. Will definitely be going back here at some point!!!
Was good, not great. I expected something if slightly higher quality and quantity for the price point. I would try Jotoro again though in the future.
Taryn and Ashley Evans were AMAZING!
They really did a great job at getting to know us and provide an exceptional experience.
We are repeat visitors and love Jotoro. We like the outdoor seating on the larger patio. The smaller patio at the front is loud with the trolley track right beside it and people walking by though.
Table was not available at reservation time because the kitchen could t keep up
Our server was great. Very informative and also very friendly. Food was fantastic. The best we had on our 10 day trip throughout Florida. If I'm in the Tampa area again, I will definitely be going back.
The food is amazing! We had items from both the brunch and dinner menu. Sat outside and enjoyed the weather and people watching. Enchiladas, nachos and Churro French toast-YUM!
Service was excellent. Food was good, but limited choices for a Mexican restaurant. Although if you want tacos, burritos or enchiladas, this is a good place to go, but no carne asada. The enchiladas were delicious, but not so much the beans and rice.
The service was incredible!
Love the food. Always a good time
Seated outside Lovely dinner
Visiting from TN, my husband & I split the wedge salad which was delicious! The spin on this classic by using grilled pork belly with a chili lime bite was indeed the perfect bite. I had the Baja shrimp tacos and hubs enjoyed the TX Style Steak & Cheese Enchiladas. Our waitress was very attentive. Overall very nice place!
I don't remember who our waitress was. I know she was in the military, but she was amazing! was on top of all our orders, never missed a beat, and her energy was amazing!!
now the food is alright, not much to choose from, but okay. the drinks are amazing.
Our first time here. Food was good but a bit expensive for Mexican - but it's the location too. Good people watching and a nice place to walk around before or afterwards. We were a bit miffed that we had a reservation and arrived on time, they sat the couple in front of us without a reservation and then we were told we had to wait 10 minutes for a table to be cleaned. When my husband questioned it, he was told that reservations are more like call ahead lists??? We would go back for the nachos - looked great at the table next to us.
Great location. Fun venue. Nice variety of food and drinks. Great for groups and celebrations.
The food never ceases to amaze. We are always trying something different and it is all equally good. I recommend to all of our friends
Freak service and drinks were awesome! And atmosphere was awesome as well.
Nice location in downtown Tampa.
Menu is interesting, but the food was mediocre.
Service was subpar.
Wouldn’t go back.
Very good food for the value. Great atmosphere and location. Very good customer service and the waiter, she was fantastic.
Visited Jo Toro for a date night with the wife, as i work in the area i had visited before, but wanted her to experience it. We had the trio starters with now our favorite drink Blueberry Gin Fizz! Everyone was courteous and attentive. We will definitely be back.
Because Eater recommended this restaurant we went. Mistake. Uninspired Mexican. Not my thing.
Great, great service by Kaley, good food although the menu is limited, nice ambiance
This is our third visit to this amazing restaurant and every time the food is amazing. We keep trying different things and it is all equally good. The margaritas are also excellent. The service is great as well. If you are looking for good Mexican food this is the place.
This restaurant was not to our taste. The guacamole was chunky and tasteless, the chips were greasy, the food was all too spicy. My kids food was not touched. Go here solely for the well-crafted tequila cocktails and friendly service. Skip the food.
