Jordyn’s Soul Café is a premier soul food restaurant in Houston, Texas; expanding on our two thriving locations in Chicago to bring our home-cooked dishes and fresh ingredients down to Texas. Owner Angel McDonald opened up this business in honor of her late daughter, Jordyn. Angel has been working in the restaurant industry for many years and has always had a passion for cooking. The recipes she serves at Jordyn's Soul Café are close to her heart and have been passed down by her mother. Angel is dedicated to providing her customers with delicious food that is made from scratch daily, using only the freshest ingredients. She takes pride in providing customers with quality service and ensuring that all dishes served are prepared with care and love. Angel created a space that is second to none in its ambiance, and our food is beautifully presented with artistic attention to detail. Jordyn’s was absolutely amazing as usual. “B” was very attentive and informed us of all the amazing items on the menu. Mr. Craig was amazing as well informing us of how to book for birthdays or other celebrations. The hookah lady (Boosie Bad A$$) gave us lessons on how to properly smoke hookah. The owner allowed us to stay in with them and locked the door. Made us feel secure and like family.

The waitress was amazing, she was honest on the wait time and suggested the best time to come and visit. The food wasn’t good, the oxtails was greasy no gravy no sauce in the grits, food took 2 hours to come , greens was cold. The shrimp and grits came with 6 small shrimp. Place have so much potential but needs a better chef not cooks

Took husband for Father’s Day 2925. Waitresses took our order but we waited nearly an hour for food to arrive which was shrimp Alfredo, collard greens(were cold),ox tails and grits and catfish and potatoes. The music was soooo loud. The waitress had to yell and we had to yell at each other to talk which we eventually gave up. The food was fine, not great, just fine. The DJ had a great playlist it was just too loud for that type of restaurant.

My wife and I found this place on Open Table while looking for Soul Food in the Houston area. Our server Rachael was outstanding, friendly and helpful in making suggestions. The food came out hot and prepared just as expected. In addition, the food was well seasoned and delicious and the time to table between appetizers and entrees was perfect. We understand that there are two locations in Chicago and we have already made reservations, and hope we have a similar experience.

Ive been twice and it took an extremely long time for us to be tended to both times. The food and drinks are great! Second time I been food took over 45 minutes to be ready on top of me being there for about an hour before my food order was actually placed so I ended up leaving…
