Jordyn’s Soul Café is a premier soul food restaurant in Houston, Texas; expanding on our two thriving locations in Chicago to bring our home-cooked dishes and fresh ingredients down to Texas. Owner Angel McDonald opened up this business in honor of her late daughter, Jordyn. Angel has been working in the restaurant industry for many years and has always had a passion for cooking. The recipes she serves at Jordyn's Soul Café are close to her heart and have been passed down by her mother. Angel is dedicated to providing her customers with delicious food that is made from scratch daily, using only the freshest ingredients. She takes pride in providing customers with quality service and ensuring that all dishes served are prepared with care and love. They need to update their menu because they have increased their prices on some items and it is not reflected on the menu. You think you’re paying one price for something then when you get your bill, you see it’s a dollar more or two dollars more. I just feel as though they should have complete transparency when it comes to their prices and not do a bait and switch.

The service was excellent! The staff came by several times to make sure if we needed anything else. The food came out very quick and was great. I will defintely be going back again.

Great food great service nice vibe I’ll definitely go back the entire ambiance was great love the live dj played good music if you want good soul food in Houston this should be the stop

⭐️⭐️⭐️ We were really looking forward to trying Jordyn’s Soul Food — especially the oxtails, pork chops, or jerk chicken wings. Unfortunately, none of those items were available because they hadn’t received their order for the day. That was a letdown, especially for a first-time visit. On a brighter note, the waitress was absolutely amazing — friendly, attentive, and truly the highlight of our short experience. We didn’t stay to eat since the main dishes we came for weren’t available, but we’d consider giving it another try in the future. Hopefully next time, the kitchen will be fully stocked.

Our apps came before drinks, and my order was wrong. I got catfish and potatoes instead of the catfish and grits I ordered—no heads-up from the server. Disappointing service overall.

Highly Recommend Jordyn’s Soul Food Cafe! Our visit to Jordyn’s Soul Food Cafe was nothing short of amazing! We came in with a large group of 8 ladies, and everything—from the food to the service—was handled effortlessly. Kiera (aka Kee Kee) was so professional, warm, and accommodating. Even while training, Kai (Khi) did a fantastic job keeping things running smoothly. Their teamwork and positive attitude made our entire experience feel special. The food? Absolutely delicious! My fish and cheese grits were perfection—flavorful, creamy, and cooked just right. The fried chicken was crispy, juicy, and seasoned beautifully. I also tried the jerk tacos, and that jerk sauce was chef’s kiss—packed with flavor and just the right kick! Even though the soda machine was still being set up, they made sure we were taken care of with canned sodas, and the Arnold Palmer they made was perfect. Our food and drinks came out quickly, and we never felt rushed or overlooked. Top-tier service, amazing soul food, and a welcoming vibe. I’ll definitely be back. Huge shoutout to Kee Kee and Kai—y’all did that! The music selection was on point too.

I Absolutelyyyy loved it we went kinda late and it was very busy so we did wait awhile for our food. But it was soooo good, still hot, definitely worth the wait. The vibes were immaculate!
