Johnny’s Downtown, opened in 1993, is similar to the original Johnny’s Bar on Fulton Road, featuring pasta, veal and fish. The setting, a refurbished 1860’s Warehouse District building, formerly a general store, is the drinking and dining spot of locals and business people alike. Joseph Fall, the executive chef, oversees the food operations and is responsible for our crafting our signature dishes and creating daily specials. There are several wines by the glass to choose from and the wine list has nabbed an Award of Excellence from the Wine Spectator. There is piano music in the bar featuring Mike Petrone Monday-Friday, and Cliff Habian on Saturday evenings.

We had a lovely evening. We started in the dining room and then realized there was a pianist playing and singing in the bar, so asked to be moved over. It was no problem and our server took care of us in the lounge while we listened to some great music.

We had reservations before a concert. We told the server we were on our way to the concert she blew us off, saying everyone was. We waited an hour before we received our bottle of wine or any food. We watched as other server tables received their food and complained to the server that we needed to get our food expedited. We complained to the manager he went and checked told us 5 minutes but we still did not get food for another 15 minutes. We ended up having 15 minutes to eat our meals and had to ask for the bill when our entrees were served. My meal tasted ok but looked terrible, bland and soupy. The manager never came to our table and we were not even offered a discount. The server said she would have offered us dessert but we had to go. We won't be back to the downtown location.

Nice space, great waitress. Stuffed peppers and Steak Poivre were good. Angel Hair Pasta was mush. Pasta isn’t that hard…take it out of the water before it’s overcooked.

We ordered 1 salad and two pasta dishes. We were seated at 7:15 and our main dishes arrived at 8:35. Our angel hair pasta was congealed into one lukewarm lump. When we were done eating we waited 15 minutes for our check. There were no refills of water offered in the 2 hours we were at our table. The restaurant had been highly recommended by a friend but the experience was terribly disappointing .

We celebrated our anniversary there as we had our first Cleveland date there 16yrs ago after meeting on eHarmony. We were in there early 5:30p to get a drink at the bar and ended up eating there as the barmaid was very friendly and it was quiet at that time

Good cocktail, good service. Way way way overpriced mediocre food. Stuffed calamari had 4 small pieces rolled with some kind of stuffing / saucy stuff. 18.00 for this tiny tiny not tasty appetizer. Salad lettuce walnuts blue cheese on a saucer- 8.50. Ridiculous portions and poor quality. Band on truck was awesome as always!

We found Johnnys on Reddit. It wasn't the best. The fried mozzarella was ON POINT and amazing. The bread and pasta were good. But my steak needed some sort Of butter or something in top. It was a bit dry. And the scampi was rubbery. Not worth the $$. Service also took a LONG time. I just wouldn't spend my money ther againz

Excellent food, service and value. Incredibly loud table near us. Would go again and just recognize some people are just very loud.
