Top-notch food and service, great cocktail menu, huge variety of steaks. This is a world-class steakhouse.
Good service and great food!
Absolute favorite place to go for a special occasion. This visit was to celebrate some goals at work being met, and it was a great way to spend an evening with my team. Thank you to the staff of John Howie for always providing an incredible experience!!
Everything was perfect, with the exception of my girlfriends Filet mignon steak was ordered as medium rare, but was not served as medium rare (overcooked) She was disappointed, as had heard how good the steaks were here. Seated in a quite area, but when a group of 8 people were seated next to us, noise levels went up quite a bit. Everything else was perfect
Great Delmonica steak, awesome lobster bisque, and fresh Ceasars salad. Any questions? Yas!
We went to John Howie Steaks 1.5 years ago and I was disappointed by the experience. The General Manager reached out to me and asked for us to try again - I am very happy we did.
The food here is exquisite. The starters, soup, entrees, and desserts were all unique and memorable. For shared dishes, the people at our table would find different aspects or ingredients of the same dish more appealing. Their 28-day dry aged steaks are as good as any steak available at restaurants in the Seattle area.
We had been leery of dining out due to re-opening challenges most businesses are facing but decided the time was now. You will not notice that the entire economy is understaffed here. We had a wonderful waitstaff and they were very attentive to our requests throughout the evening. Everyone thanked us as we left the restaurant. The courses are all presented at the same time and the waiter was well-versed in each entrée.
If you have a chance to dine here, I recommend you try it. It is a longer dining experience, especially if you enjoy four courses as we did, but well worth it.
I will be back again and share my next experience as well - thanks Tim!
The service was excellent, and the food was divine.
We were - for some reason - seated by tables that had very young children. So it was noisy for quite some time. As a fellow parent, I definitely understand the uncontrollable, noisy nature of young babies. At the same time, when we are paying hundreds of dollars for a meal out, there is a certain expectation that my meal would be nice and peaceful.
It was everything we expected in a fine dining experience, executed flawlessly.
Glad to hear! Thank you for supporting JHS. Have a great week. Cheers, Tim Lodahl GM
The experience was absolutely phenomenal. Bella provided service with a smile and make some great recommendations.
I appreciate the kind words about Bella. I will share this with her next shift. Have a great weekend. Thank you for giving us the opportunity to serve you. Best, Tim Lodahl GM
Pros: The bread basket was really good. The tempura bacon was outstanding. Sauces for the steaks were good. My wife's and son's steaks were good.
Cons: The fries were underwhelming, and tasted just like any other fries. My son and I both got a wagyu steak, and mine was overcooked based on how they described their cooking style. I didn't say anything cause it was still moist, but I would have really preferred it to be a little more red. On the noise level I could hear everything said at the other tables, from one person wanting to walk on the ledge but not fall in on his wine to another one saying she didn't want any pork at all so noone at her table to get the bacon.
We always love going to John Howie steak. Although last night's dinner seem to have taken a long time. Total time there was three hours. The food was excellent although some of our favorites had a little tweek to them ie the crab cakes had a little bit of a spicy sauce, and the tenderloin appetizer had a different flavor than in the past (still good though). The table side Caesar salad was delicious but the portions were giant which is great if that is your main meal. The bananas foster was outstanding (even if we waited at least 15 minutes plus before they came back to us after ordering it). As always our cocktails were perfect.
Thank you for the review. I would like to follow up with your service team. Would you please provide reservation name and date? I appreciate your time along with any additional feedback. Enjoy the Sunny weekend. Best, Tim Lodahl GM
Steak was under seasoned and undercooked. Caesar salad was disappointing and overall flavorless.
Service was great. Bread service and dessert were the highlights of the meal.
Would you please let me know which steak you had? I would like to speak with the executive chef on the items you listed. Thank you for the review. If you would be willing to discuss please call 425-440-0880. Best, Tim Lodahl GM
Service charge is strange and server struggled with explanation
Thank you for dining with us. I would be happy to have a discussing about the service charge. Please call 425-440-0880. I appreciate your time. Best, Tim Lodahl GM
We had a great time once seated, but we did have to wait 25 mins past our reservation to get our table. I understand that things can be pushed back sometimes, but 25 min seems unreasonable for a restaurant of this caliber.
Thank you for the feedback. I would like to follow up with the dining room manager. Would you please provide reservation name and date? I appreciate your time and want to remedy this.. It's through our valued guest feedback that makes us strive for continuous improvement.
Steak was chewy and raw
I am sorry to hear this. Did you have the opportunity to speak with a manager? When issues arise we want to fix them in the moment so no guest leaves unsatisfied. Would you please provide reservation name, date, type of steak ordered and temperature ordered? I would like to follow up with the chef and your service team. Best, Tim Lodahl
