We came for dinner after seeing Johns Facebook appeal. We wanted to support local business during this challenge time with the corona virus. We had a lovely evening and everything was perfect. Our server, Michael, made rue experience five-star.

Appetizers were great. We ordered the filet flight, medium rare, to share. It was brought out and cut into halves. They were blue and then put back on the grille and they were rare and chewy since they had to be cut into. We expected more for $145 steaks.

Everything from beginning to end was amazing! Service is always on-point, food was so fresh and tasty. It was a perfect evening for us to celebrate a birthday.

Servers were great and the food was very good. I was extremely disappointed at the 20% service charge. Especially since it did not go 100% to the server. I ordered two bottles of wine, both over $300.00 and both with considerable mark-up. I am happy to take care of the server and always leave at least 20% tip, including 20% on wine but I do not appreciate the restaurant forcing the 20% and then keeping it for themselves.
The restaurant is begging to look run-down. Many of the light fixtures have torn fabric and need a good cleaning.
Overpriced for the condition of things.
Thank you for the feedback. In October 2019 we decided to move to a commission based system. Most crew members receive a commission percentage based on their sales while other work groups were given a higher hourly wage. We worked on this model for eight months to make sure our dedicated staff of professionals were well compensated. Our staff is currently making the same or more then the previous tip model system. It was a fun family dinner night. Normally we are frown upon because we are loud and I prefer wearing sweats!
We booked it right when it open to get a more private time and I will say it was perfect. The service was on point and Bella was a great host. Can’t wait until next time
Our waiter was average, I would expect better service considering gratuity is included your bill. However the food was excellent.

We were disappointed that they did not have the cut of Wagyu that we wanted, but our alternate choice was great. Service was fantastic.

We go to John Howey a few times every year. We go for lunch because it is more affordable than dinner. The food and drinks plus service are above reproach. More like exceptional! Parking is subsidized by the restaurant, usually free. There are tables and booths. Some tables are by the large windows allowing a view of the Cascade Mountains at times. Go enjoy!

Waited for about an hour and fifteen minutes before we got our food (at lunch), after we said we had time constraints. The manager took a percentage off the bill. Overall an expensive wait for a so-so lunch.

I ordered the Juicy Lucy medium-rare. The burger was barely cooked. The fries were cold and old. Also, I tipped the waiter an additional 20% and I think it was already covered in the total. He should have said something about that when he brought me the check. I didn't say anything about my food because I was with a customer and didn't want to make a big deal out of it in front of them. My wife and I celebrate our anniversary with you every year. I would like to continue that but if things are going to be this poor.

Whenever I have time off from my work work week, John Howie is the go to place for lunch. I enjoy the excellent service and delicious food. Looking forward to my next visit there.

Absolutely stunning meal. Japanese Wagyu filet mignon was best piece of meat I have ever had in my life. The bourbon soaked black cherry donut bread pudding was an amazing end to the meal, especially after not having had sugar in a month and a half. Definitely worth the splurge. Can not wait until my next visit.

I am extremely happy with John Howie Steak! I have been a Met Grill guy but now I think John Howie is right next to Met Grill if not better. The steak is supreme! Consider the portion, the price is reasonable. The server was excellent. I enjoyed his friendliness and helpfulness!
The only one thing I have a problem is the receptionist. She seemed to focus on the computer screen in front of her. Greeting guests seemed to be second priority to her, which was odd because greeting guests should be her first job I assume. It took a while before I got to my table. Right before I left the front, the receptionist told me she would take my friend to the table when she arrived. Then, my friend told me, the receptionist made her waited while she was working on the computer screen, even though my friend knew I was inside already. After a few minutes, my friend just walked in herself. Perhaps, the receptionist was busy with another project that she was given by her boss (I have no ideas what was going on) but if that was the case, someone should also be there to help her out. Making guests wait while they work on the computer screen gave a bad impression.

When a guest checks in the front desk we use multiple functions on the Ipad to make sure all guests information (table assignment, special requests, guest likes/dislikes, allergies ect.) are communicated with the sever. We found a piece of hair in our broccoli after my wife had put some on her plate with her steak. They quickly replaced her steak and broccoli, but the steak was underdone. After the second mishap we didn't bother to send the steak back. Had high hopes but all in all it was just an average experience. Maybe should've went to outback....I think they would've at least comped our steak not just one glass of wine.

It was Valentines Day weekend so probably a bit busier than usual, but no slow down in service at all. Which was great. The steaks were stellar, but the sides were really lacking. The lobster mashed potatoes were literally just plain mashed potatoes with their average lobster bisque poured over it. I would skip that one. The mushrooms were just meh. The bread basket was super worth it though. As was the ahi tartare.
