This was our fourth visit to this restaurant. As French visitors, we make a point of coming here every time we're in San Diego. Unfortunately, this was the first time we left disappointed. While the food is still good, we felt that the flavor balance was off — too much of a sweet and salty mix — and some dishes lacked real depth or interest. We also noticed that the portions have become smaller over time. The service was another letdown: it took too long, and we were served by too many different waiters, which led to some of our requests being forgotten. We truly hope things will improve, as we've always appreciated this place in the past.

We’ve been coming since they opened; it never disappoints, the food is exceptional and the service is a class act always. We luv it, thanks for being in the Carlsbad! We always look forward to our next dinner here.

Incredible experience, incredible food. Co & Dan were so friendly and knowledgeable about what we were eating that night, they really helped us enjoy the food on another level while taking care of us during our dinner. We did the beverage pairing, which I would highly recommend to those who prefer a drink with their dinner. They have a non-alcoholic option as well!

Another exceptional dining experience at Jeune et Jolie! From the first greeting at the door, to the last goodbye, everyone was warm and gracious. The menu featured some new items which were all beautifully presented, and equally delicious. The amuse bouche of a chicken liver mousse tart and a gougere topped with black truffle set the stage for the rest of the dinner. The veal tartare with radish was attractively prepared in the shape of a Michelin Star - a nod to the restaurants well earned status. The Pigeoneau was a seared breast of squab served alongside leek confit and green garlic. For the main course, Rabbit was presented two ways, garnished with shaved porcini mushrooms, potato mouselline, and a cherry and rabbit demi glace. The strawberry with marscapone and puff pastry was a great ending to the meal. I'd be remiss if I didnt mention the bread course - one of the stars of the show! Its a beautiful brioche, glazed with a Meyer Lemon and served with cultured butter. It could stand alone as a meal with wine. Of note, the wine and cocktail programs are strong, with a wide variety of selections to enhance the cuisine. Service at the bar was friendly, attentive, and knowledgable. I look forward to returning as soon as possible.

All of the food was creatively conceived, well executed and beautifully presented. I usually don't dine at restaurants that serve food that looks pretty enough to be hung as art, but I wanted to try J&J because it's always on lists of best restaurants in San Diego county. It's a special experience and wouldn't be a regular dining option for me, but I'm glad we went. Everything was delicious and the service was outstanding. The four courses are served at a leisurely pace, so it's not a good choice if you or members of your party are impatient diners. But it would be a great place for special occasions.
