Pre fix dinner is almost too much food. All of it amazing but 5 course option would have us go more often.
Chef Steve Benjamin’s pre fix menu is hitting on all cylinders in Jean-George’s outdoor dining COVID dining adjustment. Once COVID is over, they should keep this area open. Excellent food & ambiance. Good job.
Exceptional food and service in a pleasant outdoor setting.
The food was exceptional! The chef really outdid himself. My only change would be that there only be 1 dessert course instead of 2.
Expected a little more than we got.
The tuna noodles were exceptional but
The cod was downright mediocre
The rib eye was fantastic but small!!
The lava cake was great
Everything about the tasting menu experience was exceptional. We have dined at the French Laundry and this was just as pleasant experience .
Absolutely amazing food!!
FOOD: The beef was AMAZING. The egg yolk/grilled cheese? caviar was tasty. The tuna noodles were good. Then it ALL went downhill; the butternut puree lacked flavor. The fish was spongy/overcooked towards the top and the desert was dry, and even the last little cookies/chocolates were on the cheap side.
PRICE: This was priced comparably to my last 3 micheline star meal, Akalare in San Sebastian, Spain, but it lacked the justification. As stated above, the beef was the only course that could be considered 'justified' at paying a top price. Everything else varied from uninspired to boring.
NOISE: There was at least 6 instances in the night where we heard motorcycles revving over 100 decibels. This is supposed to be a world renowned/world class hotel; There IS such a thing as sound proofing.
-You cleverly 'created the illusion' that the restaurant was sold out, thus creating 'buzz', but it was quite dead when we got there at 8pm.
-The restaurant was 'out side' but not your SIGNATURE restaurant outside, on the top floor; I had not know that there was a second restaurant built in the Uninspired, poorly planned, street level with constant traffic sounds.
-You stated on open table a '$180 no show charge', planting a seed that the tasting menu may be 'petit' or as low as $12 a taste or $90/head....perhaps even $150/person, but $200/person SHOULD BE ADVERSTISED AS SUCH ON OPEN TABLE: 'Tasting menu for $200 a person'
IN SUMMARY; You forced me to do too much research for a random SIX HUNDRED DOLLAR meal. I feel 'taken' for my money; I'm NOT happy
It went well ..the service amid the covid pandemic was exceptional
This was a great experience from top to bottom. The space is subtly elegant, without being even remotely overbearing. The menu is creative, to the point where even I had trouble making decisions, but with just the right amount of options to keep it accessible. The food was tasty and prepared perfectly. Finally, the service was among the most gracious and accommodating I have ever experienced. I look forward to my next visit.
Strong candidate for Michellin star in LA next time !! Food is great, especially truffle pasta is to die for .. Sommelier is very professional and good wine list. All servers are very attentive and helpful. Absolutely spot for return-to.
Eat there quite a bit. Good as always. The avocado carpaccio pizza is magical.
It’s our anniversary and they gave us a free delicious desserts, with “Happy Anniversary” inscription.
Disappointing. I used to love going to Perry St and JG Tokyo. What happened here?! My friend and I both had the 3 course lunch prix fixe: soup/salad, truffle pasta and one of each dessert, the chocolate cake and the Mont Blanc thing crossed with a pavlova. My soup dish was dirty. The pasta completely lacked flavor and we both had to keep adding salt and pepper to it. The chocolate molten cake was overdone, not melty except the very, very center (hard on the outside). The chestnut pavlova thing should have been left as a normal Mont Blanc and it probably would have been fine. And to top it off, the parking is $20 with validation. Not worth it.
Very underwhelming food and experience for the price. Been in the jean George’s restaurants in New York and they are delightful, the one in Los Angeles. Very questionable I wish I can have my money back or at least go and have the real experience in New York.
Our server Kimberlie was excellent.
Lovely room, please retrain your staff, doesn't live up to the brand.
You need better glassware. Your glassware is too basic for such a nice restaurant and bar especially that your china is great
Best food in Los Angeles!
Our runner/buster Carlos was the best! He took care about our dining experience and for sure left us with a big smile on our faces ! Hospitality was second to none in general!
About food: thanks to chef Steve For the best food ever. Warm shrimp salad, tuna tartare, salmon, desserts - all that brought me back to NY, where we have the most amazing cuisine created by JG himself
Thank you, Waldorf Astoria and Jean-Georges
Steak was cold.
Latte came after food was finished.
We asked for bread and they said we have to wait till 11. After 11 we asked again and still no bread.
Service was slow.
Coffee not refilled till asked.
Very bad service for a high end hotel.
Great experience service and food top notch
We Always have a wonderful time at Jean George
The food is always good
Classy place and the food is excellent. Loved their brunch. Will definitely return.
Delicious food, wide choice on menu, excellent service, beautiful room
The restaurant is beautiful. Everything was delicious and the service was great.
Perfect as always, never disappointed when having a celebration there, the staff makes a wonderful fuss. The truffle pizza, the warm shrimp salad, the salted caramel sundae always a hit! Thank you.
I'm so glad that I've chosen the Jean Georges restaurant for my bd lunch today.
The menu offers a wide variety of delicious and mouth-watering starters followed by the main course and various types of drinks. I had ahi tuna tartar, MUSHROOM CRUSTED FAROE ISLAND salmon and warm chocolate cake with vanilla bean ice cream. Everything was delicious and the server was amazing - very thoughtful and qualified.
I highly recommend this restaurant🤗
We have visited J-G in NYC several times and this was our first time in Beverly Hills. We ate on the beautiful garden/patio. The set lunch was excellent value and delicious with enough choice in the courses for everyone. A wonderful afternoon in our vacation to California.
Exquisite food, both beautiful to look at AND absolutely delicious. Lovely location. Very glad we went, and will definitely return. But watch the extras; bottled sparkling water and cappuccinos are extremely expensive.
Service and food is always wonderful. Love the look of the restaurant, never disappoints
One of the worst dining experience in my life. The portions were ridiculously small. Never, ever go back again. So you spend $150 for lunch and the validated parking is $20? WTF?!!!
Great service & amazing food. Love the menu for dineLA.
Hope to come back again.
Great service both front of house and at table. Food good. Staff spoke to me by name.
Such great food, service and ambiance.
Was hoping for more from this iconic chef. Food was good, service was good but value is not there. Overpriced and food lacked flavor
The food was tasty-- service a bit odd. The $22 fruit plate wasn't spectacular -- perfectly tasty and serviceable, but one expects more from a Jean Georges restaurant-- that little something extra special that was lacking.
Almost as fabulous as Jean Georges at the Mark Hotel in NYC- which is my #1 most favorite restaurant and hotel in the entire WORLD.
Awesome service with the food you come to expect in a fine French restaurant.
Well worth the visit and I expect to return soon.
