As always, delicious cuisine, excellent service and friendly staff.
Amazing experience. Just a little loud to carry on a conversation
Food was very good with the exception of the roast lobster which was dry and rather tasteless as both myself and friend who ordered the same thing agreed. The lambchops and the veal chop were excellent. Service was abominable for a first class restaurant. We could have had better service at any one of a number of coffee shops.
I would return just to see if the service was better another night.
Good filet steak, Avoid the seafood dishes. Good chocolate soufflé. Good service. Mostly, laughably bad pairing of flavors otherwise (despite the eponymous chef being on site that evening).
The restaurant was amazing. The food was incredible and the service was impeccable. Our server was attentive and cheerful. The GM was so hospitable and gracious. I will definitely return soon.
The food and drinks and service were well thought out, from amuseBouche to desserts; our palates were dancing with every bite! The elegant high-ceiling dining room and Lovely patio dining areas, with ambienced lighting and comfortable music accompaniment, hosted our conversations without having to shout.
1 of our starters, warm organic egg 'Mimosa' never tasted so good, complement with golden Oscetra caviar ♡
The Luscious charred corn ravioli, tastefully bathed in combo of cherry tomato salad and basil fondue, impeccably highlighted wonderful seasonal ingredients with every spoonful ♡
Our fish course, the Local striped bass, served with spinach in green olive dressing and crispy shallots, tasted as if we've caught the fish and grown the vegetables ourselves!
Other seasonal ingredients perfected in the cherry chocolate meringue accompanied by sour cherry ice cream and sorbet.
The Sommelier's recommendations to my dining partners were outstanding!
We have plans to come back to enjoy the chocolate soufflé and the entire seasonal menu!
The food was awful. The angel hair tasted like canned tomatoes and was very oily. Nothing about the food was worth paying what we did. One of the servers looked like she needed a bath. It seemed like they focused on “important guests” and forgot about everyone else. I will never return.
Great place for when you just want to enjoy great food. Tables are very close to each other. So keep topics light ;).
Wonderful and attentive service all throughout.
I took my friend for her birthday and she/we just loved it. It was the first visit for both of us and it was FABULOUS, from start to finish. The Wait-staff and Hostess were very personable, attentive and professional. We had the 3-course lunch menu and it was OUTSTANDING!! Our Server, Michaelangelo , was just AMAZING and treated us as if it was both of our birthdays. He also sang Happy Birthday by himself to my friend, even after the dessert was served. The only negative (a small issue) but......... when I made the reservation, I asked to please add my friend's name on the birthday plate in addition to the "HAPPY BIRTHDAY" if they wrote on the plate and I was told that was done. I reiterated that request when I arrived, ahead of my friend, but, her name was not added. It would have been wonderful if they had, but.... overall the experience was WONDERFUL. Thank you.
Excellent waiter ❗️great experience great food will return 💕💕
food was fabulous and very interesting dishes that were executed very well
service top notch
pricey but worth it!
Went there for Father's Day and it was super expensive.
over priced restaurant with low quality food. The food was mediocre. We went for Father’s Day and basically wasted $1,000. We had four different meals and the chicken tasted like hospital food, which was the waiters recommendation. The dessert buffet looked pretty but didn’t taste anything exceptional either. I wouldn’t go back and if anything the rooftop is better ambiance to just go and have a drink with appetizers.
Very expensive $155 for lunch was not good value for money. You can find equally good food and drinks for less. Decor of the restaurant was average, nothing wow about it!!
We went there for the Father’s Day brunch, $175 per person for an appetizer, an entree and dessert. We expected something better than a few random dishes to choose from, with relatively poor ingredients and no originality. The food was just good and very boring. The most underwhelming dining experience we have had in a very long time.

What a tremendous disappointment! When you spend $176.00 (inclusive of tip + tax) on 1 adult & 2 children for breakfast (with no alcohol) there is a certain expectation for service excellence. I had to look for and flag someone down 3 times for more coffee. After the 3rd time I asked them to leave the pot on the table. My daughter’s entrée was served. Afterward we had to remind the server we were waiting for her smoothie she ordered when we sat down. They delivered 2 entrees and then the 3rd 5 minutes later. Very friendly server however not close to what I expected from a Jean George restaurant and Waldorf… and the restaurant was 1/3 full at 9:00 a.m. We frankly would have had more attentive service at DuPar’s. UPDATE: 6/18 - I emailed the GM of the restaurant and hotel and did not receive a reply.
Great food, lot of options and amazing ambience. The Hotel by itself is very beautiful and the restaurant too. The atmosphere is very classy. Great for a romantic date!
We were not given an option to choose inside or outside seating at the time of reservation. There were no tables available indoor and we were seated outside which my guests did not want, making for an unpleasant first impression.
Food was pretty good - would recommend the Veal Chop from the grill - as was the service but as it is on the expensive side...
General: I made the reservation through Open Table for dinner. My husband and I arrived approximately 20-minutes early to the restaurant and we were seated immediately in the patio area. Although it was chilly outside, the heaters were on and the area was warm. In addition, the ambiance was great and the seating was comfortable.
Food: The staff brought complimentary bread and gazpacho to start. Both were great and refreshing. Afterward, we were served the Wagyu beef tenderloin, the ribeye, and shared fries. The food overall was outstanding.
Drinks: I ordered a vodka tonic and asked for Tito's vodka. The drink itself cost $23, which was odd considering their mixed drinks cost less. Considering the price point of other places along the same caliber, the drink prices overall were quite expensive.
Service: The hostess was professional and friendly. Our server was not attentive and at times off-putting. This was the downfall of the experience. We did not receive a steak knife for my husband, and when the server noticed he immediately took the butter knife from his hand instead of asking to exchange the knives. After completing our food, it took the server approximately 15-20 minutes to ask us if we would like dessert. However, instead of waiting for a reply, he walked away. At that point my husband and I were tired of waiting, so upon the server's return to the table we asked for the check.
Overall: I would recommend Jean- Georges for the food with the caveat that customer service is lacking.
This was perhaps the most disappointing meal I’ve ever had. Been to Jean George’s in NYC many times, and his Prime in Vegas. All great. It was my birthday and we went to the Bev Hills restaurant with friends visiting from NYC. I was incredibly embarrassed how poor the food and service were. Our NY friends chalked it up to LA not knowing fine dining. I felt somehow it was a reflection on me. That my friends thought I don’t know how to choose a good restaurant.
The food was a huge disappointment. Bland, ordinary, tasteless. And we all felt this way. As for the service, we had to pour our own wine serveral times. We were completely ignored. Can’t imagine this is how Jean George’s wants LA to regard him.
This review is of a meal downstairs.... JG is a first rate chef, as is well known in London, Paris and New York. Superlative, attentive but relaxed service coupled to an inimitable way with food, especially with the vegetables in the entrees. Expensive but worth it.
Elegant, trendy restaurant with outstanding service and some of the best food in Los Angeles. Alcohol is a bit pricey.
My foodie friend and I meet for a nice, lingering lunch once a month, usually on a Saturday, because we both work during the week. She's a seafood fan and was sorely disappointed in two of the selections she ordered, though she did like the Crispy Sushi, her third choice after she was dissatisfied with the first two. She also thought her salad was bland. Dessert was good and our server was excellent. We make it a practice to dine at L.A.'s finest restaurants, and were hoping Jean-Georges would one to add to our list. We decided at the end of the meal we were one and done. I'm only taking time to convey this message, as I would imagine other patrons are expecting better as well.
What you would expect from a high-end hotel restaurant — good food, great service — not a fine dining/Michelin Star experience. Was a bit underwhelmed. The presentation was not super delicate or artful, again very good food — should have been about 15% less.
First time eating here but won’t be the last. The cocktails were great, the food was wonderful and our server, Bryan, was fabulous. Very enjoyable evening. Thank you.
I have to slam one of the four dishes we ordered.....a relatively easy pasta which was almoat cold and without taste. I should have sent it back.....but our water and his helpers were sooooo good, I did not. A bravo for grilled veal chop, which these two diners are happy to christen as "the best outside of Italy".
Absolutely first rate food and service. And you can actually have a normal conversation with the entire table.
It’s not the same as NYC’s JG! Sadly, everything was average at best.
The restaurant was lovely. Light and airy. We had a great corner table. The service was pleasant but they forgot to bring our dessert. Once we reminded them, they did comp it, but it didn’t help. The food was okay, but on the underwhelming side. It was not a bad experience, it just wasn’t a great experience, especially for the cost.
I had a great meal, as always. The avocado flatbread is always incredibly good. There was a selection of jams on the table that I wanted to try, but I hadn't ordered any toast or rolls. The waiter brought me toast, gratis, just so I could taste the jams. This is the kind of extra mile that they always go, even though I'm often disheveled and always in jeans.
Loved it. We came here for my birthday and I was not disappointed. From getting out of the car (valet helped my husband with his jacket and offered me a hand to get up) to my dessert, everything was fantastic.
Pricey but exceptional cuisine. The black truffle pizza is a must. For an upscale event or business meal.
Absolutely lovely evening. We celebrated a birthday and the evening was perfect. I so appreciate the excellent service and attentiveness for our dinner party. Wonderful!
Food is tasteless, drab and ridiculously over priced, complete mistake to have dined there and it won’t happen again
Great! Good food & ambience
Beautiful restaurant, the décor is lovely and very fresh. The food was delicious, staff very attentive, and friendly. Will be back.
Customer service definitely needs to be improved. Other than that, the ambiance, food and overall vibes are amazing. It’s always a pleasure coming.
It was our second time in 2 days. We ate the same A5 wagyu with some different appetizers and desserts. As good as the day before. We will be back!
