One of the best meals I have ever had!!! You must go!!
We ordered the 6 course meal. The food and wine pairings were not great. Very unimpressed with food for a bill coming out to $715. Wines chosen on the premium tasting, were just as expensive as the regular wine tasting menu. The steak was cooked perfectly, but the other items were definitely not worth it.
My husband & I had our first dinner out at Jean Georges since March 2020, and it was wonderful! We had a lovely table outside, very distanced, and the service was stellar and both masked & visored! We did the 8 course tasting menu, and tried both wine pairings. The food sizes were perfect! Thank you for a marvelous meal in civilization, and for making by birthday so happy!
Beautiful restaurant with 5star food and service. Very expensive but worth the experience. Fine dining at its finest.
I attending fine dining restaurants on a monthly basis. Was expected a lot from this place with such a prestige chef. Thoroughly disappointed with the food and service. None of the 8 courses were worthy of a fine dining experience and service was rushed. When you spend $180 per person you expect a little more.
Beautiful restaurant. Amazing food.
Excellent meal, tasty as always. but this is our first tasting menu.
For the amount of money, we were underwhelmed by the quality of the food.
Amazing food and pairing. Excellent service
We went for an 8-course dinner. Though most of the dishes were very good, my main dish, Salmon, was really very disappointing. I had requested it to be medium-rare and it was served medium-well! It was dry and not very tasty. I could have gotten much better quality salmon at several of the far less expensive restaurants!
The overall experience is good! The waitress is very kind and helpful. I ordered the 8 course tasting menu and substituted the beef tenderloin with Ramen cause I don’t eat meat… (Obviously I should have asked them to substitute with something else)
The size of food is… tiny, and I was still hungry when I finished the dinner. And it took 2.5+ hrs to finish the all 8 courses. It’s pretty tiring……
Food and service was excellent
Went to Mothers day brunch. It was served family style aside from the entrée. Appetizers were odd. I felt like I was in a Mediterranean restaurant. The entrée was excellent- lemon risotto with grilled shrimp. The deserts were very good and beautifully presented. Service was hit and miss. Had to ask for more bread. Cocktails were not tasty. According to the promo, the mothers were supposed to receive a small spa gift and a special pastry from the chef. Neither were forthcoming.
I have been here on other occasions and enjoyed the experience. This was quite disappointing overall.
No value for money spent. I would not recommend this to anyone.
Not a remotely good value. Service and setting were far below what I expected for an 800$ prix fix lunch for 3.
Fantastic food with wonderful service. The only thing i can complain about was that it was a little dark. Which made it difficult to take pictures of the beautiful and tasty food. It is definitely worth a try.
Great food, great location with great service. Recommended.
All I can say is that it's not even close to the Restaurant in New York. The staff was very nice and accommodating. The food was below average.
Was excited to dine here, but when we arrived for our 9pm reservation we were told by the hostess that the restaurant stopped taking reservations at 8:30. She told us we must have the wrong restaurant and was curt and defensive when we tried to rectify the confusion. It wasn't until we showed her our Open Table reservation that she reluctantly sat us at a table. It left a poor taste in our mouth before we even sat down. Thankfully, our server Bill, provided us with impeccable service, making for an incredible experience. The presentation and plating was unrivaled and aside from the main course of my girlfriend's vegetable tasting being too spicy, the food was amazing.
3 of the 8 courses were phenomenal. Crab risotto was by far the best thing. The steak just wasn’t amazing.
Just what you'd expect: Impeccable and personable service; delicious, creative tasting menu; excellent (premier) wine pairings; all in a relaxing and lovely setting.
My husband and I came here for our anniversary. It is pricy, but the experience is amazing! Food, drinks, service was everything you would expect!
The restaurant feels like a temporarily converted corporate event space. The atmosphere is muted and the decor uninteresting. The food is similarly uninspired, the standout dishes would be the weak points at places like Per Se or Daniel.
Nice to experience tasting menu 8-course meal. Unique food selection - but not over the top.
A special experience with wonderful service and exceptional food.
Wow what a great meal
I was hoping for more originality in the fixed menu. Not overall impressed.
Perhaps a la carte is better.
We went on a Sunday and for some reason they had a 8 course meal that costs $180/each person. Didn’t like that there was on flexibility on choosing what you’d like to eat, especially that the pre-set dishes were not enjoyable at all. We wasted so much food! Wish they had some type of disclaimer on here about their set menus when you’re reserving a table.
The service was amazing!
Love the hotel and the restaurant was nice. Service was above excellent. It is definitely an experience. We go out often and the person I dined with is a chef. We expected spending what we did and that was not the problem. The courses we nothing special. Same thing done over. I mean how many times can restaurants have peppercorn crusted filet or tuna tartare. I was just very disappointed with the dishes. I was expecting to be wowed, not at all the case. Nonetheless, it was an experience and if you can afford it, do it at least once. We will not be returning.
Pre fix dinner is almost too much food. All of it amazing but 5 course option would have us go more often.
Chef Steve Benjamin’s pre fix menu is hitting on all cylinders in Jean-George’s outdoor dining COVID dining adjustment. Once COVID is over, they should keep this area open. Excellent food & ambiance. Good job.
Exceptional food and service in a pleasant outdoor setting.
The food was exceptional! The chef really outdid himself. My only change would be that there only be 1 dessert course instead of 2.
Expected a little more than we got.
The tuna noodles were exceptional but
The cod was downright mediocre
The rib eye was fantastic but small!!
The lava cake was great
Everything about the tasting menu experience was exceptional. We have dined at the French Laundry and this was just as pleasant experience .
Absolutely amazing food!!
FOOD: The beef was AMAZING. The egg yolk/grilled cheese? caviar was tasty. The tuna noodles were good. Then it ALL went downhill; the butternut puree lacked flavor. The fish was spongy/overcooked towards the top and the desert was dry, and even the last little cookies/chocolates were on the cheap side.
PRICE: This was priced comparably to my last 3 micheline star meal, Akalare in San Sebastian, Spain, but it lacked the justification. As stated above, the beef was the only course that could be considered 'justified' at paying a top price. Everything else varied from uninspired to boring.
NOISE: There was at least 6 instances in the night where we heard motorcycles revving over 100 decibels. This is supposed to be a world renowned/world class hotel; There IS such a thing as sound proofing.
-You cleverly 'created the illusion' that the restaurant was sold out, thus creating 'buzz', but it was quite dead when we got there at 8pm.
-The restaurant was 'out side' but not your SIGNATURE restaurant outside, on the top floor; I had not know that there was a second restaurant built in the Uninspired, poorly planned, street level with constant traffic sounds.
-You stated on open table a '$180 no show charge', planting a seed that the tasting menu may be 'petit' or as low as $12 a taste or $90/head....perhaps even $150/person, but $200/person SHOULD BE ADVERSTISED AS SUCH ON OPEN TABLE: 'Tasting menu for $200 a person'
IN SUMMARY; You forced me to do too much research for a random SIX HUNDRED DOLLAR meal. I feel 'taken' for my money; I'm NOT happy
It went well ..the service amid the covid pandemic was exceptional
