Jean-Georges At The Connaught
Overlooking fashionable Mount Street in the heart of Mayfair, the restaurant will offer all-hours, informal gourmet dining in a relaxed, contemporary neighbourhood setting.
The eclectic, imaginative menus are inspired both by Jean-Georges’ experiences of the Far East and his signature use of South-east Asian flavours, whilst also featuring his distinctive take on British and Connaught classics, from fish and chips to traditional afternoon tea, influenced by his earlier working life and love of London. Sourcing the best of British ingredients, the menus will also reflect the simple farm-to-table, fresh-from-the-market approach long pioneered by Jean-Georges, and found at his restaurant at The Mark and ABC Kitchen in New York.
Had wonderful Saturday lunch with grand-daughter and husband who were visiting from Yorkshire.
We sat inside overlooking Carlos Place and elegant Mount Street.
Restaurant has been artistically outfitted and is light and pleasant. Seating was extremely comfortable with good distance from other diners.
Interesting cocktail assortment, my cucumber martini was excellent. Had very good starter of crab salad followed by superb "fish and chips". Beautifully cooked. My guests had fillet steak and lamb chops which they said were delicious. The desserts were were well presented and the look on my guests faces indicated their appreciation.
The staff were courteous and efficient. We were extremely well looked after and were not at all hurried.
Enjoyed our afternoon immensely and will certainly visit again and recommend Jean-Georges at the Connaught.
Cannot fault this restaurant - the service was perfect as attentive as needed with a really knowledgeable waiter. The food was superb and that fact that the executive chef made time to walk around and chat to his customers was charming.
Really worth a visit - it is not cheap but a really excellent experience. I will go back.
Outstanding food and friendly service in a very stylish modern atmosphere. We enjoy eating at Jean George’s restaurants and while at London decided to try it and were not disappointed.
love it every time we are there
Nice service and ambience. Beautifully prepared food albeit with a slightly incongruent menu. Service very attentive.
Restaurant, location and ambiance was great! The food was at best mediocre and over priced.
Excellent overall experience!
Recommended by a friend. ....her reasons were borne out by the service and hospitality received. Good table layout...ie not immediately next door to another. Food was good . Wine list interesting. Expensive for a lunch £130pp incl a bottle of wine. Light and airy room. Negative aspect was the long wait to find my suitcase from the cloakroom. David B.
Excellent service! The staff very friendly polite and helpful. Amazing food amd great atmosphere! Enjoyed every minute
Amazing food but very pricey. Truffle pizza overrated but try the rigatoni and candy floss dessert!
Nice bright room and an extensive breakfast choice. We went for the Dosa as the executive chef is Indian. They did take quite some time to arrive but we were brought some complimentary fruit and pastries whilst we waited. They arrived and so did the chef to check all was well. Made up for the slow service with the extras.
Wonderful food, excellent service. One of best restaurants in London.
Advertised as casual dining but very sophisticated food and presentation. Wonderful flavour combinations and good service. Signature Strawberry and Verbena Candy-floss dessert spectacular. Don't particularly like the background music, seems unnecessary in such buzzy surroundings.
Great place service and breakfast.
Great food and great service! The chips were the only let down, a little dry and over cooked, but they were removed from the bill once we mentioned it to our waitress.
The signature candy floss dessert was excellent!
This is an amazing restaurant, with lots of quality. Excellent food, friendly & professional staff, great atmosphere. Highly recommended, We are definitely going back
Food was marginal, service was clumsy and they sat another table so close that a stranger and I rubbed shoulders for 45 minutes. So many better places to choose from. Very disappointing.
The jean George was a pure dining delight.
From the food to the service. All perfect
If you have a special occasion to celebrate with deep
Pockets then this is the perfect restaurant
We chose the tasting menu and asked for the wine pairings. Each course, starting with the caviar, was a surprise with delicate flavors and artistic presentation. The paired wines were all new to us, the most dramatic being an Italian white served from a jeroboam. But nothing could match the drama of the mountain of spun sugar filled with sorbets and treats that were revealed when the sauce pierced the top. A memorable evening. And the staff made it even more so with attention, stories and charm.
Service was incredible and the place is smazinh
In contrast to its more obviously fine-dining predecessor, "Jean-George at The Connaught" is unashamedly just an expensive bistro; accordingly I hadn't expected too much. Nonetheless, the cuisine is refined, and lunching there was still a treat. I shared the Grilled Octopus starter with my lunch companion, and followed that up with the Poppy Seed Crusted Salmon -- both were delicious. As expected, the service was flawless. Further, that location and space remain unrivalled in terms of brightness and airiness; anecdotally, on this visit thru the hotel another 'world-figure' walked right past me... Barring the price-tag, I recommend without reservation.
The staff at the Jean-Georges was absolutely amazing, very welcoming and friendly.
Food was excellent, and the atmosphere very cosy.
Highly recommend it!
Expectedly pricey considering the setting, Jean-Georges nevertheless does not fail to impress, surprise, and overall leave a generous and foody aftertaste. The food is innovative and daring and the atmosphere is shrewdly casual.
The only irk is the ‘we require a credit card number to secure your booking’ policy. Although this is probably going to become an industry standard in Western cities (hey, it’s 2018…), there remains the feeling to be treated like a stuffed turkey. Unsurprisingly, they don’t serve it a la carte.
remarquable adresse ; très bons plats accompagnés d'un service très appliqué
pur moment de bonheur
It was good
Lovely. Best hamburger I have had in ages
Business lunch. Modern brasserie style restaurant. The menu offers a range of proper food and it was difficult to choose – we wanted to eat everything! The food was well presented, and the truffle pizza was incredible (we shared it as a starter). Service was efficient and caring.
The pizzas are the greatest in London.. and poshest. The kale salat is unique.
Excellent all around!
PEFECT EXPERIENCE IN EVERY ASPECT......VERY COOL FOOD EXCELLENT
This is the quintessential example of a refined yet relaxed dining experience with delicious food and perfect service in an elegant “living room type” setting. It is lovely in every way. The Lemon burrata appetizer is unique and refreshingly delicious. The spiced salmon is near perfection. There is a fine wine selection and you can get the wonderful Billecort Salmon Brut by the glass ! Desert is sublime. My husband and I give this restaurant 5 stars because it is consistent in all aspects of the dining experience - from taking your coat upon entry right through to the doorman at the exit. Feels like family at the end of the evening. Well done, Jean Georges, well done!
Been for lunch many times but first time in evening. Atmosphere was great and along with top service and excellent food really made it a perfect evening dinner for me and my guests. Thoroughly recommend!
My second visit and cannot wait for the next .
Exceptional service standards in surroundings that delight the senses
Well thought through menus and dishes executed with skill and passion.
Too many favourites to pick a single dish. The wine list and cocktails served with great knowledge and skill.
If you only dine in one MAYFAIR venue in 2018. Make it here.
Really nice, thank you for all the arrangements.
Absolutely perfectly executed food and experience.
I’ve always been a fan of Jean-Georges’ restaurants in New York. This restaurant stays true to the clean fresh delicious taste I’ve come to expect. I look forward to going back.
The furniture is too small for men over 6 feet. Very uncomfortable.
My assistant booked for lunch thru OpenTable using my account and I received the confirmation on my mobile. But the a day later I got an email from the restaurant asking for my credit card info to guarantee the reservation!
What a hassle! A bit arrogant. Not very customer friendly.
Anyway, so I, not too willingly, obliged since I had already announced the lunch location to my guest and did not want to change it.
But then thru out lunch I realized there where at least half a dozen tables available. So all that headache and bitterness caused, was for nothing, it was not as if there were a stampede to eat there.
I am not going back
love this place it is a guarantee for success. love love love it
