   We had dinner here for our sixth anniversary and had not been in a while. The food was excellent but the service was not. Our server seemed distracted and had to be asked for refills multiple times. Brought our appetizer at the same time as our dinner, brought out the corn bread that we ordered after dinner and just popped it on the table And turned around and started making conversation with the bartender without acknowledging us or asking how the dinner was that had just been served. my husband ordered coffee and it was served in a plate full of spilled coffee to him. Our anniversary was not acknowledged at all, even though my husband wrote it on the paper table cloth for her, and we mentioned it when we made the reservation so it was a disappointing celebration experience .

   This was a wonderful experience for my father's birthday. He and my step mother have had a hard time finding well cooked seafood in Colorado after traveling the country for most of their adult lives. I am thrilled to say that Jax was the exception! Her catfish was perfect and we all enjoyed the Oyster/Cold bar starter combination. Daddy tried something new in the Kanpachi Crudo and the flavor parings impressed us all, especially when matched with the house made ginger beer. Over all this was a great night with excellent food and incredible company.

   This was my third trip to Jax’s in the last year. We have always had a great experience (even the one time we brought 11 other people with us) and tonight was no different with the exception that the food was really well done this evening. Again, we have always enjoyed the food but tonight it was really delicious - we all agreed. The service was and always has been fabulous. I highly recommend this place.

    We eat here regularly, I love their oysters because they are definitely the freshest around. Restaurant is pretty good about modifying items to fit allergy needs. Service is always great. Food is a little pricy but very delicious so I’d say it evens the good vs bad out. We did make reservations last night for my birthday. (Specifically asked what we we’re celebrating) there was nothing offered to celebrate birthdays? So unsure why it was asked? I got the salmon for $31 and it was really good, the mushroom aioli was amazing but I did ask for it cooked Med and it was burnt, so that was a little disappointing. I also ordered a dozen oysters and got one for feee for March oysters so that was cool. Overall I’d still recommend, great staff, great environment & the food is really delicious. Just every now and then they have a one off which is ok, I can’t expect them to be perfect every time 😊

    I’ve been here before when there wasn’t nearly as many people. It was happy hour and all of the happy hour food was really good (peel n eat shrimp, crab legs, & raw oysters) but the non happy hour, regular menu food, I think was coming out too fast. The dishes I ordered I’ve ordered in the past and it was amazing, this time not so much. It lacked the flavor and wow that my prior occasion had leading me to think they were swamped and not as much time and energy was put into the dishes.

    Food was amazing! The grilled octopus was the best thing we ate all night. The restaurant is very small and the table/area we were seated was crowded but the food made up for it. We will definitely be going back.

    Wife and I went here for a date night and was extremely happy we had a reservation. The place was packed, but we got seated quickly and a server met us in a fast manner. We ordered drinks and oysters off the bat and weren’t disappointed. We got meals that were delicious, however, my wife’s salmon was burnt to a char on the bottom. The rest of the fish was good, but she had to eat around the bottom. Other than that the food and service was good. A nice place to go for date night for any couple.

    My husband and I love coming to Jax! Being from Charleston SC this is the closest we get to fresh oysters here in Colorado! This was the first time we sat at the bar and Megan, the mixologist was FANTASTIC! She had great mixed drink recommendations and even made us a drink we are calling “The Orange Stuff” she was knowledgeable, fun, and kind- just the kind of attitude you want going out on a Monday night! We will be back soon!

    We had a most enjoyable dinner with John as our server. he was attentive and the food was excellent. On a cold night, the seafood chowder was just perfect and my husband thoroughly enjoyed the oysters as well. Salad was fresh and tasty and there was a nice choice of wine!

    What a cute place. Warm, wonderful decor, vibrant atmosphere. The food was fantastic and our server was wonderful. Attentive but unobtrusive. Happy Hour menu is outstanding and now that we know this will be a great stop early after work.

    Have been to Jax several times before and always enjoy it. Sunday nite is much quieter than usual so we gave it a try. My wife had clams and oysters and though they were good. I had the Copicino and it was mostly broth with very little seafood other than a small crab leg. Was $45 and I won’t order it again.

    Small venue and it was busy! Definitely make a reservation. Great selection of oysters and wait staff was knowledgeable. Be sure to “ask about the bread”! It is delicious but you have to request it. Two of us had scallops and found them to be utterly FANTASTIC and simply WONDERFUL! Was a little noisy (small place packed in) and wait staff was good and helpful without being omnipresent during the meal.

    We took our son here for his 20th birthday. He wanted seafood & in a land-locked state, it's hard to find GOOD seafood. We knew Jax wouldn't disappoint. His sisters (almost 8 & 9.5yrs) tried oysters for the first time & loved them. Not only was the food incredible, but the service was great as usual! We can't recommend Jax Fish House & Oyster Bar highly enough!!!!
