Table was bad. Reservation was made a little more than a week prior and we got a bar table. Not great for a date. Kept getting bumped by staff and patrons. Not awesome.

I had a great experience at Javier’s, our server Santo was great and provided great recommendations for food and drink, his service was efficient and he made sure to check on us after we received our food. We ordered the tamarind margarita, Trio De Enchiladas Del Mar, Aguachile De Callo De Hacha, and Empanadas de Cameron. All were so delicious, the aguachile had some spice to it just a FYI to those that candle handle any spice. We asked for sides of habanero hot sauce and it was creamy, spicy and tasty. Definitely a great experience for my first time. It is a bit pricey but we came for a special occasion.

We took my daughter and her new college roommate out while in town dropping her off for the first time. Our food and drinks were delicious and the staff was friendly, knowledgeable and polite. I would definitely return.

I made reservations for my daughters 30th - called July 1st , spoke to summer - who was so professional in helping us reserve for 9 . Once we showed up last weekend the front desk girl was so extremely rude - said we had reservation for 8 and to “step aside “. We waited for nearly 20 minutes . A gentleman showed up and said, “oh, you want to change your seating to 9” , I mentioned Summer helped me a few months ago - Open table showed 9, the text confirmation showed 9. Not a great start . ( as we ALL flew in from Northern California . However , our server made up for it . He was AMAZING

Always enjoy eating at Javier’s when I’m in La Jolla. This visit the wait for a table with a reservation was 35 minutes which is actually ridiculous. I observed the hostesses slotting in walk ins between reservations. If I’m making a reservations I’m not expecting to wait in a queto be seated. The hostess actually asked me for the time my reservation then wrote my name on a list instead of referring to an online system which I thought was odd Service otherwise was very good and food was wonderful. If this is an on going process I will rethink going for dinner in the future

The food and ambiance was great! However our waitress was rude and curt rushing us and calling us “chica” and “ Chico “ and standing over us and we pay our bill, rolling her eyes because my sister had questions about certain dishes. She made our experience awful, extremely disappointing and awkward.

We love going to Javier’s it is one of our favorite spots. The food is so delicious very authentic Mexican food with great flavor and the service makes it even better. Everyone is always very friendly and attentive. We also love the ambience and music it is very fun.

First time dining at Javier’s despite being locals and loving fine Mexican cuisine. A great and very diverse menu with lots of seafood as well as vegetarian and vegan options. Loved the experience so much last weekend with our friends, we are retuning tonight with our three pescatarian daughters.

Unfortunately it took over an hour to get our food and 2 of the 9 meals came wrong. Ex. Vegetarian meal came with chicken. It was such a nice place but we were hungry and the service level was sub par.

I have been going to Javier's since it was the small and cozy restaurant in Laguna Beach. Even though it is now part of a large corporation, they have managed to sustain the great food and service. Actually, the service is impeccable. A server was always around (and not in an intrusive way) to refill water, chips, salsa, etc. Chips and salsa still some of the best around and the margaritas as well. The expanded menu has so many great options, it is difficult to pick just one item. Carne asada, pollo asada, carnitas, mole, guacamole were all great food items. I highly recommend Javier's, especially for a special occasion!

We went here for our wedding anniversary and ordered the La Tablita. Steak was over cooked and wasn’t seasoned whatsoever. Definitely not worth $90.

If I have to say something great about this restaurant, is definitely about their great service. The waiters wer SO nice and polite. Food was good, but not as good as I expected. The elote bread dessert was really good, though. The ambiance didnt dissapoint. I would return to try something else from the menu, yo give it another chance, food wise. The elote bread, OMG!

Made reservations for Labor Day weekend. Ubered there and the drop off was easy for the driver to find. Inside was very nice, friendly staff, food was great. I’d come here again next time I’m in SD

I do love the vibe of this place and the margaritas are the best! That being said the food is very good but very pricey. I always ask to be seated outside because inside we cannot hear each other. It’s super noisy.

The ambience was amazing and the food and service was great. The only thing I would say is to be sure of what you want because they don't take items back that you don't like. My fiancé had a IPA he never tried and didn't like it. They refused to exchange it until I asked for a manager and explained it was his birthday and our bill was over 1k. Still enjoyed ourselves, definitely will be back!
