Michelin-starred Jamavar London, located on Mayfair’s iconic Mount Street is celebrated for its gracious hospitality, inviting atmosphere, and beautiful surroundings inspired by the Viceroy’s House in New Delhi, the acclaimed restaurant is a rendition of a palatial Indian dining experience in the heart of Mayfair.

We have been to Jamavar many times and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. On this occasion the food was excellent. The waiter was very attentive and served us well. However the Maitre D was inattentive and offhand. On arrival I was seated and a few minutes later he came over and asked what we wanted, however we had not been given a menu! When I asked for one he appeared to get very annoyed with us. During our meal the table next to us was cleaned with spray disinfectant spoiling our food taste. At the end of the meal when I used the bathroom there was no soap. This is not you expect of a restaurant in this price bracket.

Excellent food as usual with inconsistent and friendly service. Given how hot it was, upstairs not cool. For the prices Thea rest of the set up should match the very fine food

Nice room;staff somewhat disinterested...could be neighborhood norm; food was fine if a little precious; no better than many much less pretentious Indian places on brick lane.

We had the tasting menu. The starters and puddings were nice. Nothing exceptional compared with the quality of other Indian restaurants around London. The mains were truly dreadful. Bland, tasteless and certainly not authentic. The butter chicken tasted like cream of tomato soup out of a tin and the palak paneer tasted of absolutely nothing. Breads were dry. The atmosphere feels like just your average central London restaurant. The experience as a whole was a far cry from other 1 Michelin star restaurants I’ve been to.

We had a fantastic family dinner at Jamavar on June 17, 2025. The staff were welcoming, the food was delicious—especially the butter chicken and paneer—and the elegant setting made the evening special. Great for families and highly recommended!

The noise level in the restaurant (it was busy and the background music was quite loud) made it difficult for us to have a free-flowing conversation even though there were only four of us which was a shame because it was meant to be a long catch-up with friends as well as the opportunity to celebrate a birthday with excellent food. The service started very well but tailed off by dessert which ended up being slightly stressful as we had a train to catch. The cancellation policy of £50 a head if you cancel within 48 hours of the reservation is too punitive for my liking so for all the above reasons we will sadly not be returning.
