Michelin-starred Jamavar London, located on Mayfair’s iconic Mount Street is celebrated for its gracious hospitality, inviting atmosphere, and beautiful surroundings inspired by the Viceroy’s House in New Delhi, the acclaimed restaurant is a rendition of a palatial Indian dining experience in the heart of Mayfair.

We had a reservation for 10:30 PM and arrived early to ensure we were seated before the kitchen’s last call. Despite this, we weren’t seated until 10:45 PM, and the table wasn’t even ready—some of us had to stand and wait for chairs. Once seated, we were rushed to place our food order and weren’t asked about drinks. In fact, we were only offered water after our food had already arrived and eaten

We ordered the tasting menu and we were rushed, because we were gently reminded twice that our table was for 2 hours. I think the restaurant should either extend their booking time, or allow customers to opt for tasting menu at the time of booking for a longer reservation. They mixed the order as well - my fiancé ordered the lamp chops but they brought something else. The food was delicious and we really enjoyed it, but overall this didn’t seem like a michelin star experience (we’ve been to quite a few michelin star restaurants).

Our experience was absolutely phenomenal. The staff was very welcoming, and the quality of both the food and cocktails was world class. We had some of the best cocktails, prawns, and lamb shank in our lives. We will be recommending Jamavar to our friends and family.

First experience with authentic Indian food and we did the tasting menu paired with wine. The service was attentive and helpful explaining all of the ingredients. The sommelier paired the wines perfectly and spent time walking us through each glass discussing the region, flavors and reason for pairing. Highly recommend!
