While the food was good, where I felt the experience was short was the level of noise in the restaurant. The music in the restaurant was way too loud, I had to request a few times before they brought it down to an acceptable level. As we couldn't hear each other seated around the same table. Secondly, it was quite hot and felt stuffy, so we couldn't enjoy the food. This was highlighted and was informed as there were too many guests andthe air condition was not optimal. Lastly, I had requested a takeaway Nali Briyani, but it was packed as a vegetarian/vegetable biryani. Felt the amount of money I spent in the restaurant was bit short of the expectation.

We have been to Jamavar many times and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. On this occasion the food was excellent. The waiter was very attentive and served us well. However the Maitre D was inattentive and offhand. On arrival I was seated and a few minutes later he came over and asked what we wanted, however we had not been given a menu! When I asked for one he appeared to get very annoyed with us. During our meal the table next to us was cleaned with spray disinfectant spoiling our food taste. At the end of the meal when I used the bathroom there was no soap. This is not you expect of a restaurant in this price bracket.

Excellent food as usual with inconsistent and friendly service. Given how hot it was, upstairs not cool. For the prices Thea rest of the set up should match the very fine food

We had the tasting menu. The starters and puddings were nice. Nothing exceptional compared with the quality of other Indian restaurants around London. The mains were truly dreadful. Bland, tasteless and certainly not authentic. The butter chicken tasted like cream of tomato soup out of a tin and the palak paneer tasted of absolutely nothing. Breads were dry. The atmosphere feels like just your average central London restaurant. The experience as a whole was a far cry from other 1 Michelin star restaurants I’ve been to.

We had a fantastic family dinner at Jamavar on June 17, 2025. The staff were welcoming, the food was delicious—especially the butter chicken and paneer—and the elegant setting made the evening special. Great for families and highly recommended!
