Excellent except 2 of the 3 snappers ordered were over-cooked& 1 was broken in 2 as if it had been tested in kitchen. Price per size of snapper pieces was high considering what 3 other pieces received on their selections
Normally love Jackson’s. Come here every time we are in town. Had food and service issues last night. Left disappointed Told hostess on the way out. She didn’t care in the least and I didn’t feel like dealing with it.
Excellent food and experience. Service was slow getting our food orders taken and the kitchen was slammed, but it was a Saturday night and we weren't in a rush, so no complaints. Great place, great food. Highly recommend.
They have a great selection for different tastes, and each of these plates are so different that the variety of flavor is really wide, good place to eat.
The restaurant is right on the water, with a beautiful view outside, as well as great ambiance inside. Service was impeccable, and nobody rushed us , despite the fact that the restaurant was full and we spent quite a bit of time talking before ordering and after dessert. I had the snapper with scallops, and my wife had the Jackson’s salad topped with salmon. Everything was delicious. For dessert we had an awesome peanut butter torte. We are from out of town, but the restaurant was picked by our friends, who live a few blocks away. They told us that it is their favorite. I do recommend reservations, as the restaurant is very popular.
The service was great , the food was excellent. Our waitress Lena was excellent , she recommended the wine and certain entrees. We took her advice and we loved them , especially the desert. We also like the atmosphere of the restaurant. We will definitely go back again. Even one of the manager's stopped by our table to ask how everything was and we told him everything was great.
all in our party enjoyed the food - salmon, lobster roll and grouper sandwich
We thought the food was good but not great. The restaurant should add table linens. The women’s bathroom was not clean, and the handicapped restroom was dirty and messy. We pointed it out to the hostess who laughed it off. The construction is still going on in front of the restaurant and hotel, so it was a very long walk from the valet parking, which was ridiculously priced at $10, to the restaurant itself. We hadn’t eaten there in years when it was much better. We will NOT go back there and do not recommend it, too bad.
Loved we could make a reservation. Got to eat outside and enjoy the beautiful view. The snapper was amazing and so was our server. Will definitely return!!!!!!
As “locals” we often find ourselves at Jackson’s to celebrate with family / friends. Have been coming for years, and can honestly say that we have never left disappointed. Last night we had a wonderful family get together outside under the veranda. Service was on point, food was delicious. We look forward to our next visit !
Been there many times. Usually a great place. Our server Jarvis was not typical of Jackson's ... service was more akin to what one would expect at a roadside diner or Denny's ... disappointed in that
great, the food was phenomenal
We went for Sunday brunch. Was put at a table next to the waitress station in a corner. The food choices were terrible, service terrible, ambience and view horrible. Would NOT recommend. Complete waste of $200
Disappointed with my past visit. Used to love getting dressed up and enjoying the atmosphere but I doubt I’ll be back soon. My wife and I felt way over dressed as attire has gone down hill. Pretty bad as she wore a dressy but casual pants suit and I wore dressy jeans and a button up shirt. Felt more like an upscale Golden Corral as we watched people come in wearing shredded jeans that left very little covered and basketball shorts and backwards hats. Just not the same as it used to be. The parking was a madhouse and I was forced to pay $20 and park upstairs. The food was mediocre at best. Omelette station was what I used to look forward to the most but I could only eat half and I’d had enough. The desserts taste like they came out of boxes and the sushi was sad for a “Bistro & Sushi” restaurant. Not saying much when the grits were the best thing around. I feel as though I could’ve eaten at plenty of other places much less expensive. $82 for two buffets, two waters and a coffee is outrageous. Especially for the food. Can’t say I’ll be back any time soon
We were on vacation and we searched up best places to eat in Tampa and Jackson’s BB&S came up. We felt like it was such a great place to eat and although it was packed and our waiter was really busy , he took the time to check up on us frequently. So pleased with the experience and service.
Nice atmosphere great view I recommend the sexy Lobster roll very delicious, good date night
Awful and overpriced food, but great view of the river. The seafood items we tried were terrible: calamari, grouper with crab, and blackened grouper sandwich. We are from a coastal town, and one should never scoop crab salad onto grouper while calling it “lump crabmeat” and grouper stack. Also, the charcuterie board was inedible because the meats were too salty. The cheese were of no better quality than that found among the velveeta in the grocery store. It was a truly awful meal from appetizer through entrees.
The food was not really good. Also, we had to wait about two hours for our food to come to the table.
Good Coconut Shrimp, Grouper Sandwich, Steak Sandwich. Fries, salad, Gelato, Creme Brûlée all good. Nice wine list and good coffee.
Good wait staff.
Great atmosphere and great service. Came here for Valentines Day and they were very timely with service
The sushi was phenomenal. The prime steak burger was very good.
My fiancé ordered the grouper with crab cake but the sauce that was poured on the grouper was very salty. We did not ask to take it back and get replacement because the kitchen was backed up. Small portion for the price - $31.00.
Food very fresh good service definitely will be back
Very romantic Valentines Day dinner, originally I was served the wrong dish but once corrected it was fantastic.
Great restaurant. Really enjoyed it
Small food portions and way overpriced. We waited for over an hour for our food. I do understand it was a busy night but I do believe you should be better prepared as a business on Valentine’s Day. There was more food in the appetizers than the main course. Food was good not great. Again way way way over priced.
On Valentine’s Day, dinner was horribly delayed. Waiter was MIA, general manager never stopped by. All waiter had to say was it wasn’t his fault. Dinner was over an hour late. We ordered an extra round of drinks because of the delay and a good restaurant would have cooked that round or something. And then waiter forgot a couple sides. We just punted because it got so late. Food was very average at best. Never again.
Our fault for making reservations on a holiday.
It took over
Server was not helpful when asked about the menu. She didn’t seem to know much about it or cared much at all. Although the food was fine, I was extremely disappointed in the blatant lie about the lobster being a New England Lobster tail. It was clearly a Florida lobster. I’m from New England and have been catching NE lobster for years. There’s an obvious difference in the shell of the tail. I question all seafood being represented in their menu now versus what I may receive. I’ve been to Jackson’s several times and always had a good experience. This on was, again, very disappointing. What surprised me the most is that the waitress insisted it was a NE lobster. When I asked to speak to the chef I was denied. The bill was adjusted but, that’s not what I wanted. I wanted a NE lobster tail.
I will be posting this concern about Jackson’s on various sites to warn people that they may not actually get the seafood they’re ordering.
Shame on Jackson’s for trying to pawn off a crayfish or spiny lobster for a New England Lobster. I’m embarrassed and will not suggest this restaurant to anyone.
Great food, although it took over an hour to get it after we ordered it was well worth the wait. Just know going into it that if you get a still water you will get charged $7.50, wish I would have known that before ordering nothing is made clear. Be sure to ask about things if fancy is not a normal thing for you.
We had a table for 6, which was outside and almost on top of the sidewalk. The server and kitchen were overwhelmed. It took 30 minutes to place our order and more than an hour after that for the food to arrive. The appetizers and salads we ordered were not delivered in between. Had to get two managers to get our food. One told us our order was complicated. We split one appetizer and one salad and one entree and ordered two other meals and four sushi rolls, which the waiter had painstakingly written down and repeated to us. Not too complicated. One entry had to be returned twice and the third time still was not right. We ate it to get out of there.
Had dinner on Valentines Day so pretty busy that night. Enjoyed the grouper crab stack, wedge salad, and edamame appetizer. Very convenient spot when attending an event at Amalie Arena.
Excellent food and service, love to sit outside with a view of the river and Tampa, short walk to events at Amalie Arena.
We went here for an early dinner on Valentines Day because of a concert that evening. We enjoyed the food very much. the service was good also. The water view was a added touch!
