Love, love the food. Friendly staff and great atmosphere.
While they promote this as a "Pizza Place," it's really much, much more than that.
The various entrees and side dishes are simply outstanding - the best you'll find ANYWHERE!
Tuesday has $10 pizza and wine.. OMG great!! Their pizza never disappoints.
Wonderful ! Enjoyed everything !
Went with friends for dinner. Good Italian wine selection and excellent garlicky dip to start. Squid ink pasta with shrimp was great as was pasta special. Speck pizza less successful. Panna cotta with strawberry, add agate, and chocolate budino were very good as well. A bit noisy but a great local neighborhood kind of vibe. Large portions and very reasonable prices for La Jolla.
Yummy food, with great presentation. Solid wine options. Nice ambience, upscale without being too fancy. We were there as a group of girlfriends but I saw a date table and several families.
This was our first time here. WE loved it the food was incredible and the bottle of winw was perfect as well. we will be making this one of our "GO TO" places.
Excellent food and a great value. Our server was very helpful with our wine selection. The food was brought out timely and was delicious Just be aware that a table of six or more has added gratuity and they don’t do anything special for birthdays. Overall a very good meal! Will return.
Isola is my GO TO spot for the most authentic Italian pizza in San Diego. I absolutely love Isola!!! Both locations!! Great great food, delicious pizza and salads and pasta. I probably eat at Isola 4x a month and have since they came to San Diego. Just perfect...eveytime and a killer happy hour too.
Wow! What a great surprise it was to find this place. We love dining in the Village and Isola is an amazing addition to the area. You will not be disappointed here. The service was friendly and attentive. The food was delicious! The value is excellent and lots of great Italian wines to chose from. I will definitely be back!
The happy hour menu and pricing were great! It was our first time in though, and it is worth noting that happy hour is communal seating, first come first serve, even if you make a reservation. Not a huge deal but if your expecting to be able to have a nice conservation with your friend and are instead seated with a child having a tantrum or a huge overbearing group (we experienced both) it's a little difficult to focus on your conversations.
I'd definitely go back on the basis of food, I'd just tailor my expectations in terms of ambience.
Another perfect night.
Love sitting at the bar. Great service.
When Massimo is around, the place is phenomenol. It is a great addition to La Jolla. Great food, great value.
Consistently good food
Had the eggplant parmesan and it was delicious. Been here before and have had great meals each time. Noise level can be high when it is busy.
Great pizza and tasty eggplant parmesan. Would definately return.
Love the place love the food hate the middle tables
They market themselves as a “pizza” place, and their pizza is very good, but they are really much more than that. Their entrees, while few in number, are extraordinarily good - you’ll not find better food anywhere! I’ve been back many times, and have never been disappointed. I really can’t say enough about it.
Great service and the food was excellent. I really liked the pizza and the Tiramisu was so tasty. Not very crowded which is okay with me because you get plenty of room and quick service. I certainly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a great authentic Italian food.
Great food, wine and service. Waz was our server and she was great. Had a fantastic night.
We ordered bruschetta. The tomatoes tasted off. It was as if they had been cut up several hours ago and had not been refrigerated. I ordered the pasta with seafood. The pasta strands stuck together and did not appear freshly made. My husband ordered the bolognaise which was not up to standard.
We were very disappointed as this was often our go to restaurant.
Real simple good Italian food. Excellent pizza. One of the few restaurants I frequent. Definitely
would recommend to others.
Isola never disappoints with their pizza.. ingredients are fresh and crust is perfectly charred. I have only had better pizza in Italy. Their special menu last Friday was impressive with a Carbinara, pear Gorgonzola salad and crepes that were amazing .
The house wine was delicious! As was our pizza and salad. Cool vibe and fun atmosphere ! Would go back again!
I often order mussels at various restaurants, but these were especially good - a nice size and the sauce was thick and delicious. Excellent pizza and arugula salad.
Food was delicious...loved it all...the Brussels were delicious and the Burrata was amaaaazing....my husband had the squid pasta and loved it...❤️
Amelia was welcoming , informative and attentive to our needs .
Food well presented and very fresh / wine selection ( all Italian) was broad and well priced
A comfortable quality restaurant on the main street of La Jolla
Excellent pizza. Wonferful desserts. Efficient and friendly servers.
I love this restaurant. We were here New Year's Eve and came back for Happy Hour last evening. I am very sensitive to background music as I find it distracting and the music does get a bit past the "background." But the staff is genuinely kind and enthusiastic about their guests and the food is deeelicious. Will put it on a regular schedule now.
Food was terrific, as always. Service also excellent.
Enjoyable and adula
Another wonderful meal at Isola. I just love their pizza selections and my wife loves their pastas.
This is one of the best wood-fired pizza places in the San Diego area. The taste of the crust reminds me of what my Sicilian grandmother used to make. There are so many other options on the menu too that it's easy to order a few different plates and let everyone share.
I visit La Jolla 2 to 3 times a year and every visit includes a stop at Isola! Many thanks to the staff who makes this so memorable!
A favorite neighborhood dinner. Great food, selection, service and value.
Awesome place. They have issues with reservations. 2nd time when there was no table ready. First time was Wine Dinner they hadn’t “shut off” Open Tables and we sat at bar and had great experience with Jacob. Last night l, there was a “Yelp” photo shoot keeping us from getting a table. Hostess overwhelmed and line of guest unhappy. We sat at the bar and thank goodness Jacob was there. Will probably just sit at bar moving forward. One of our favorite spots in the area but they need to get the seating figured out.
We love it here always excellent pizza the best and papradelli so tasty
We LOVE Isola. The atmosphere is comfortable, the service is friendly, the food is fabulous. Favorite dishes are Burrata E Pomodorini Roberto's way (add arugula and proscuitto) and their Cacio e Pepe.
The seafood pasta had no flavor and no salt. We have ordered it in two special occasions and this time has been the worst. No love. It's a bad combo for primi since the pizza is so delicious. The appetizers are also very nice. The service was only good when Isola first opened. Every time we go now it just becomes worst and worst. The hostess and servers are all poor and inhospitable.
Everything was delicious.....we'll be back soon. The octopus was terrific.
