   Absolute disaster, they had no reservation for me and they seemed not to realy care much about it. Staff totaly indifferent to my request but they did offered a table next to the entrance which is exactly what I specified on my reservation that I don't want. Will tell all my friends that they shouldn't bother with this venue.

   My parents and I went there for their 29th wedding anniversary and had the most wonderful time, as always. The food is excellent, the wine is fantastic and our host charming. Not only were we treated to fantastic Sicilian food but also an impromptu history lesson in Sicilian wine production. We have never had a bad time at Isola del Sole, more to the point we've had nothing but great times. Highly recommend

   Unfortunately, we had quite a bad experience on our last visit, and I don't think we could return as a result. Our first meal there 2 weeks ago had been quite good, and we returned hoping for a repeat performance and also hoping perhaps this restaurant could become one of our regular haunts in Putney. My wife is Italian after all, and we are always looking for nice local restaurants. However, this was one of those bad service disasters, where there is a level of neglect and then even a failure to be accountable or acknowledge that things didn't go to plan. What transpired was very uncomfortable and awkward for us, and it would now feel even more awkward to return. In addition, the food was also not anywhere near as good as the first evening we were there, which compounded the bad service. Different chefs perhaps? In any case, I don't think you can rely on consistency of either the food or the service at this place. A true disappointment.

   My husband and I really like the food at Isola del Sole, especially the home made pasta dishes. Christiano is very passionate about the wines and the food served and provides very good explanations of preparation methods, etc. Service can be a bit slow at times.
