Enjoyed the experience very much. The recommendations for food and wine were spot on and the evening was flawless. Wine sommelier, Max was super knowledgeable and fun to talk to.
Fantastic meal, unpretentious servers, reasonably priced
We will definitely be back!
Wait staff was great, the kitchen counter was fun (getting to watch the food get made and interact with the chefs was excellent) but the food itself was underwhelming. Most of the food was kind of bland, though it looked nice (top points for presentation, but loses on taste). Biggest problem with the food was just that it all had a very similar taste profile, really needed some citrus or acid to liven things up.
Best course was definitely the salad course, which was quite good, but the burratta appetizer was basically just a lump of cheese with some boring crackers (a crusty bread or some seeds on those would have helped), The Pappardelle pasta just tasted like a mediocre bolognese, the Gnocchi mostly tasted like mashed potatoes, and the Tuna was overcooked and had way too much bacon which made the whole dish basically taste like bacon instead of tuna.
Perhaps we were just expecting too much, it certainly wasn't a terrible dining experience, just disappointing.
Great location, beautiful decor and superb service.
Fantastic food and great service.
Outstanding! Snails were the best I have had.
The food was spectacular. The bar scene next door was distracting, and completely in opposition to what the kitchen and restaurant were working on. It was like Las Vegas, 20 something get drunk, scream and suck face in the hall.
Met with friends for a get together; had a great meal sitting at the kitchen bar. Tasty cocktails, the burrata is incredibly tasty and the pasta was cooked perfectly. Wine recommendation was also on point. Will be back soon!
We chose Il Posto b/c they care about the ingredients in their food and try to serve organic foods when possible. I felt silly making a reservation for 8:30 on a Monday night, but am glad I did. The atmosphere is thoughtful, and our server was great. (We were in the window enclosed loft, which I bet is fantastic at sunset.) We enjoyed all of the food, which was served at a thoughtful pace, but the La Tur (served with perfect risotto stuffed squash blossoms that had a touch of saffron, and drizzled with house made ramp honey) was so wonderful, with so much subtle depth of flavor, that I had to close my eyes with each bite. Frankly, I got a little choked up when I thought about how much effort went into the dish over time. (They buy as many ramps as possible when in season so that they can preserve them for later, and clearly the farmer who made that cheese loves his/her cows.)
I considered going back the next day for more La Tur without telling my husband, but opted to (barely) share it with him a couple of nights later before we headed to a movie. He was very happy to order the same pasta he'd eaten before. A great experience once again!
Our service was awesome! My husband and I are both servers at Morton's the Steakhouse, and we were so impressed by the entire staff. Very warm, friendly, and attentive. Can't wait to come back.
Service is outstanding. We sat on the patio which was very pleasant and more quiet than i think the inside must be. We ordered Buratta cheese. Beautiful presentation (on all dishes), however it was sort of tasteless. Might be our bad to order it. We had the insalata, with a black berry dressing, I think. It was non existent. Might as well as had no dressing. That was disappointing. I like a light dressing, but this had none. Salad was nice otherwise. I had the pasta with a pork red sauce and mushrooms. It was really great. Very tasty and rich. My partner had the spaghetti neri with shrimp and he loved. it. Spicy and very well done. We had the donuts for dessert. They seemed slightly undercooked in the middle, but still yummy. It was overall a nice evening. Loved my glass of red wine.
We had a great time chatting with the sommelier and the food was delish!
Always a favorite. Food is delicious, staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Great place!
Fantastic service from the minute we walked into the door.
Took a while before someone took our drink order. Other than that, it was a pleasant experience.
I had the pleasure of being introduced to the Chef when i was in Denver 2015. He had a small restaurant all fresh ingredients...AMAZING! When I heard they moved and expanded but the Chef was still the owner/chef, I asked my boyfriend if we could try it again. OMG...SO wonderful and the food did not lose any of the quality or taste as when it was smaller. We had several appetizers that were out of this world...his zucchini blossoms and burrata with proscuitto. Nothing like you will taste else where. We both decide on the papperdalle pasta...reminded us of Italy...the quality and taste fantastic. We ended with the tiramisu...a couple of nice wines and espressos..what an evening!
Started out strong. Service slowed down. Wine was something we needed help with, but didnt get it so we picked on our own. Drinks took forever. Brought the courses out too fast. Food was ok at best. Split a main course and didnt bring out a separate plate to share with. Not impressed. Would be okay if I didnt fo back. Not the same as it used to be back in the day.
Steak was rubbery, food was overall was not worth the money. Won’t be returning.
The tables were too small for 4 and the pasta (primari) arrived at the same time as our entrées (secondari) when the pasta dishes should have come first, then the entrees given the small size of the table that wasn’t very practical.
Otherwise, the wine recommendations were outstanding, the food amazing and the staff very nice. We will come back!
Five star. Really great pasta !
Great spot for Italian food. Great vibe and wonderful modern architecture. The service is impeccable.
Had a great birthday dinner for our 16 y/o son. The staff was great and everyone greeted him with a nice “happy birthday!”. My sons request for dinner was “a fancy Italian dinner”. Il Posto did not disappoint!! The Buratta was amazing and worth the trip on its own.
This place was great. This will be a must go to place every time we're in Denver.
There's never a question - for every special occasions, it is always Il Posto. Unfortunately, this last time was so underwhelming that we both left, looked at each other and said "Well, I guess its time to branch out". Service was slow, and not like leisurely Italian, but understaffed/forgot multiple requests slow. Of the three dishes, one wasn't great, and two were strong.
My favorite thing about Il Posto is the ambiance and the service. Service was way, way off - and our romantic 5 Year Anniversary dinner (which they were made aware of at the time of reservation) was had at the table facing the very, very busy bar.
The food was delicious and the ambience was perfect for a date night. The service was not great. The waitress hardly paid any attention to our table. No plates for our bread or appetizers, we weren’t asked if we wanted any refills of water or wine until we were paying for the check.
This is my third time, but first upstairs. But first the food. The times I’ve eaten at Il Posto I have always come away more than satisfied. The simple Italian food has always been so well prepared. Sometimes the menu understates the richness of the dish as was the case with the Branzino.
The other two times we sat at the bar along the kitchen. Obviously there’s a lot more activity adjacent to the kitchen, it never interfered with quiet conversation.
Great spot. I thought the dinner was very good, the burrata was very good with a huge portion. Will definitely come back when I’m in Denver.
We each started with a handcrafted cocktail - barman's choice. All were delicious and interesting, none of the the four were alike. We moved on to sparkling wine with the first course. Don't miss the calamari - a different look than normally expected but oh-so-delicious. We all had a light red wine with the main course. I had the squid ink pasta for my main. Everyone loved their own dish and stole nibbles from other's plates.
Definitely worth the drive. Delicious!
Amazing as usually. Must try!
Highly recommend this restaurant! We ordered several appetizers and four different entrées to share family style, and every single one was absolutely delicious! Fantastic service and extensive wine list too.
Maybe our favorite spot in Denver. The food is always perfection and the wine stewards are expert at matching an unexpected wine with our meal. It is pricy, but very much worth it!
We had three excellent meals and the salad was superb!
Quality ingredients and the don’t scrimp on them! Everything was fabulous- calamari appetizer, salad, pork rage pasta..
Took forever after ordering and snarly employees
Amazing all around but uncomfortably hot inside. Not really as nice attire required as many had on shorts hats and athleisure.
Our favorite restaurant in a Denver. Grab the counter seats overlooking the cook line, and watch the magic happen.
Amazing pasta dishes, best burrata anywhere, great vine selection, and amazing budinos for dessert. Their Italian Manhattan is out of this world, especially is you ask for few extra black cherries.
$16-19 pasta plates, $30-40 meat plates, $13 cocktails.
We loved it! Great (and very attractive) wait staff. Wonderful flavors and the lunch special is a great deal!!!
Food was delicious. The aged balsamic vinegar with the burrata was outstanding. Our waitress was very knowledgeable about the entire menu and wine list. And as it was our anniversary they took great care of us on the chefs counter. When back in town will def revisit.
