I have to start by saying that our waitress Irene was absolutely the best and probably the only good part of the whole experience. She was so attentive and truly guided us to the best possible choices. We shared a Caesar salad and I did enjoy that. The little glass of water with something in it was nothing that I would’ve even served my dog. We ordered wine and it truly was the tiniest poor I have ever had. We then ordered the lasagna, which did have a very nice flavor, but was far too rich. The bone with marrow was an interesting touch and that really was a delightful surprise - very tasty. Thank you, Irene - you truly were the best part of the evening !! we will not be back

Dear Marion, Thank you for your feedback. We're thrilled Irene made such a great impression — she truly represents our hospitality. Our wine pours are a standard 6 oz, served in oversized glasses to enhance aroma and flavor. The lasagna is our Ossobuco version — intentionally rich and decadent. For something lighter, we suggest the Radiatori all’Amatriciana or Fettuccine al Pomodoro. The small glass was a rosemary-infused palate cleanser, rich in antioxidants. A cozy neighborhood gem! Antonio and his team are amazing. Very welcoming and attentive. Our go to for a date night or casual dinner at the bar.

3rd visit, this is a great restaurant..Small, charming..excellent menu, creative cocktails and everything you would want from a lovely neighborhood Italian restaurant. I live 40 miles away and we make the trip for Dining of this caliber.

First time at II Girasole and it did not disappoint. I love that it’s located away from the SoCo traffic. The food was fantastic! My date and I cleaned the up our plates. We also ordered a specific wine glass, but our server recommended a different wine based on what we said we liked. She was right, we ordered a bottle of her recommendation after we tasted it. The overall prices were great, and we will definitely be back.

It was our first time and won’t be the last :) Everything that we ordered was delicious and very presentable. Ambiance was very pleasant and our waiter Fabrizio was very attentive and informative. We left happy.

We chose Il Girasole to celebrate my sister’s birthday and it was sadly, a fail. There was confusion with our reservation where they assumed I was another patron without asking me. We ordered the lasagna and it tasted like someone forgot the seasoning throughout the whole dish. Each bite tasted like boiled, unsalted pasta, with unsalted ricotta or cream. We told the server and she just oddly said I’m sorry and asked if she should take it away. No offer for another dish or even pretending like she’ll check with the staff to see what happened. My sister’s birthday was not acknowledged. When we tried to leave, our check holder was dropped off at our table without any receipts in it. Our server never came back, so I had to get up to ask her for our check. At least the decor was pretty inside and the cocktails were good. I still feel upset about the experience and hope others have a much better one than we did
