Il Corso - Palm Springs
Il Corso restaurant offers genuine Italian hospitality serving a wonderful variety of traditional Italian dishes, fresh salads, homemade pastas, wood oven pizzas and delicious seafood. In addition to our regular menu, Chef Mario prepares nightly specials from all over Italy like “the world’s best gnocchi,” and our house specialty, roasted leg of veal. Start your meal off with an Italian style inspired cocktail and remember to save room for all of your favorite Italian homemade desserts to complement your dinning experience.
Great dining in experience and equally enjoyable take-out during COVID-19 crisis. High quality, delicious food.
We had a party of six at Il Corso a couple of days ago. We all ordered pasta dishes and each one was just excellent. The service was prompt and un-intrusive. The room is very nice...contemporary but very comfortable. My only nit with the entire experience is that my panzanella salad was a bit drab with a mediocre crouton.
But overall we highly recommend it and we will be back again soon.
Great food, atmosphere and service. Our server, Raina, was great!!
The food was fantastic! We live in New York City and have access to wonderful Italian restaurants and Il Corso stands out!
Experienced the worst service at any restaurant in a long time.
Our waiter was so disrespectful...
Tried to order appetizer first ,, but was told if we didn’t have our salads with it , we would have to wait a long time..
Just not a good experience.
Food and service were not special- appetizer was cold. Overpriced. Food came out so quickly we were done in 50 minutes. Not ok.
Excellent authentic Italian cooking with professional, European level service. Portions were excellent (a course not a meal). Was a little noisy.
My filet mignon was delicious. Drinks were very good and the wine selection very nice. I'd definitely return. I thought it was going to be exorbitantly expensive because you have 4 Dollar signs on it, but it was really very typically priced for PSP upscale dining. They have a terrifically priced happy hour in the bar from 4pm to 7pm, by the way. (almost hate to let that be broadly known.... :-) The only thing is I had marked on our reservation that it was for a special occasion. (I was celebrating retirement.) Our server never acknowledged it or inquired about it. Oh well.
Disappointing wine by the glass list...hoping for more Italian wines!
This was our first visit to Il Corso and we will return. We took three out of town guests there for dinner and we were all impressed with the food, the ambiance and particularly with the service. The staff, especially our server, Jesus, were friendly and professional. Four of the five opted for pasta dishes and they were wonderful. The fifth person chose a steak and he was impressed. Prices, particularly for pasta dishes were quite reasonable.
Special Dover Sole was overcooked and bit fishy. Husband's salmon was way overcooked. Soup was not hot and had to send it back.
Food was good
Our server was good
The manager would not take a gift card we received as a gift. He said it had to be used at the other location in Palm Desert / I asked if they were both owned by the same people and he said yes but it was bought at the other location ???
I’ll warn my friends not to buy gift cards and I’ll never go back !!
Please accept our apologies, clearly our staff did not inform you properly. The Gift Card you had is from an older system which unfortunately it does not work on both locations as the new system we currently share does. Your Gift Card does not loose value and it can be still used at our location in Palm Desert. Our new restaurant system could not read the stripe on your card therefore we could not establish its current value. We are truly sorry for the inconvenience.
This is the first time I write a bad review but there were too many issues not to warn future gullible customers like ourselves. We decided to dine at Il Corso because it was literally next to our hotel The Rowan. From the time of arrival the service was highly disappointing. The hostess didn’t even want to seat us in the main floor even though we were on time for our reservation, further she claimed that it was full. I have her an indignant look and she quickly took us to the side of the main salon where there were actually not one but three available tables. After waiting for 15 minutes there was no waiter in sight and not even water or bred so I started demanding a menu. To make the story short the waiter didn’t even understand that I wanted a small taste of two wines and brought just one. My son’s Bolognese pasta was watery and my “special”, a parpadelle with with shrimp was overloaded with capers and way overpriced at $30. As far as the recommended tiramisu it was nothing special either. The layer of sponge cake or lady fingers was also watery and could have used a stronger espresso flavor. I do not mind paying $$$ fior a good authentic Italian meal but I was in major shock when I paid $150 for a very underwhelming dinning experience. Please do not fall for the grandeur of this restaurant that doesn’t match the quality of it’s food.
We find the food great. But our waiter hovered and we felt rushed. We have had him two or 3 times and every time, its like get in and get out.
Made a reservation for my wife’s birthday. Noted it on the reservation, but it was ignored. Seated on bar side, nice table but with a hockey game on a big tv. Not so great. Restaurant is pretty big and our waiter had tables on both sides. He was ok, but constantly in motion. Asked how we were enjoying everything, but in motion when he said it as he was walking across to the other side. Never actually stopped.
First Lasagna was burnt
Second time around no better
Asked for no sauce on Veal.. got sauce
Pasta was dry with shrimp like it had been sitting
Wine was great as we had a bottle so they could no harm to it
We love your restaurant. Salmon was perfectly prepared. Not overcooked. Chicken was in a delicious sauce. Large drinks well prepared and served fast. Most of all we appreciate the great job our waiter did delivering personal and prompt service. Can’t remember his name, but mustache that curled up. He’s the reason guests keep coming back.
Tables are too close to one another. Pasta was undercooked. Great location. Nicely decorated and place to go with friends
Woefully understaffed. Host did a great job pitching in, but server was MIA most of the time. Management should have been prepared for a good sized lunch crowd on Sunday during Modernism Week and before a holiday. Major fail.
Really terrible service. Second visit and both times bad service
Our second time here and the experience was terrible. Both salads we ordered: beet and the Bella were tasteless. Only one of us liked the entrees. The other 3 had little flavor. Our biggest complaint was the service. We had to wait 40 minutes to get our entrees after we finished our salads. Our waiter kept saying “they would be right out”. Not going back! Very noisy!
How can the same restaurant be so good in the Palm Desert location and so awful in the Palm Springs location?!
Where to begin....20 minutes to get drinks, stale bread basket, inattentive service, worlds worst Caesar Salad, burnt lasagna—ugh, never again!!!
The quality of the food does not match the ambiance of this restaurant.
Our meal, although somewhat satisfactory with service that was formula driven, didn't make this a great dining experience.
I wanted this place to take me to level of dining that the décor suggested, unfortunately it didn't happen.
You will get mass produced Italian food that tastes ok but for the price, you would expect something much better.
Nice spot, good location, food is good, server was nice.
Though my recommendation would be mixed. We had great service from Jesus. Beautiful interior, though hard to hear. Amazing tapenade and generous bread. My cod was excellent, flavorful, well-cooked and delicious sauce. Vongole was very bland, and just four ravioli was skimpy. Salads were completely forget-able and desserts were dull and tasteless.
Great food , great place
Wonderful ambiance, attentive service and interesting, well balanced dishes. A great addition to downtown Palm Springs!
Staff is so great, and fun
Very European feel to ambience
Love the outdoor seating
We were seated promptly for our 6pm reservation (don't make a 7:30 or 8pm reservation and expect to be seated right away!) and given water and our waiter took our drink order. Ordered the fish and a pasta and they were incredibly good! Excellent food, fast service, we will be back!
It’s such a nice place but menu and staff are so so
Quality of service and the food preparation would remind one of fine dining in Italy.
Well, I keep coming back for a great experience. Just one of the best restaurants in town.
We really like this restaurant and took our daughter and her friend for dinner to celebrate her friend’s birthday. Out of the four entrees...two were good. Several were not hot enough. Delicious appetizers and a nice birthday dessert. Service was pretty mechanical.
Friends in town from Dallas
This is our third visit. The food, as usual, was excellent with one exception. One of our lunch companions steak was over cooked. It was returned and redone very sloooowly. This probably should not happen in a fine restaurant but does every now and then. We will still return.
Great place! excellent food with a personal touch! we recommending highly😊
While the food was good, it was not as good as our previous visit. The fettuccini of our previous visit was homemade and the shrimp were very large, while the fettuccini of this visit was not homemade and the shrimp were smaller. Notably different.
Great space, good acoustics. Over priced pasta in small portions though. Too bad. Pasta costs do little so checking out just drives us away. Was too empty to justify this.
Beautiful space with attentive thoughtful service. Dishes were presented well but everything was under seasoned. I had pasta and you could tell it was not house made or boiled in salted water.
