great dinner at the bar. friendly, funny, and proficient bartenders! food, cocktails, and wines by the glass were also top-notch.
Love the outside patio
Excellent food and service as always. Best patio dining.
Food was okay at best. Atmosphere would have been amazing but we were swarmed by flies every time we had any food on our table.
Service was slow having to flag down someone to order anything.
Food was fantastic. Service, specifically our waitress, was terrible - very cold and unhelpful.
This place was okay, the portions were small and food was good enough but not worth the price. You're truly paying for location. Service was okay, when other tables began to fill, service basically disappeared for us.
Good place to go, the pesto is really rich and I loved it. Pasta was just okay, we got the PAPPARDELLE and it honestly wasn’t that great & the noodles didn’t seem fully cooked.
Too loud, food was edible but nothing to write home about.
Amazing. As always.
Great service, top notch food, half price drinks at happy hour!!
Food took 40 minutes to come out
Good was great, wine was great, patio had a great ambiance. Will definitely go back again next time I’m in Austin!
The service was really bad. The hostess was rude and short with all of us. The food was not at all what the 6 ladies and I expected. We were very disappointed and all of us said that we would not return.
The food was absolutely delicious! The service was very nice. My only concern was the seating … considering the high level of COVID in Austin, it would have been nicer if seating would have been a little more spread out. I know “maybe you shouldn’t go out then” … I just thought the restaurant could afford to spread patrons out a little more (for inside seating)
However, I highly recommend the restaurant … the lamb was delectable and the fried artichokes to die for! ❤️
Food and cocktails were delicious but it took a very long time for our main entree’s to be served. Might be nice if they served complimentary bread with olive oil or even as an item on the appetizer menu.
We've been going to Il Brutto for years and we always love it. The whole experience is really special. Great Ambience inside & out. Good food. Amazing drinks. Love the big aperitif & digestive selection! And the service is always very warm but professional.
Best evening out in a long time!
Great ambiance and service, food is ok
The outdoor ambience easily eclipsed the food, pizza was average at best
One of my favorite places in Austin!
If you have allergies, I do not recommend Il Brutto. The staff are not equipped to answer questions about the food or how it’s prepared. They will also get annoyed and ignore you for the rest of your meal.
Great as alway. Nice and modern vibes with a great selection of drinks and food! If you’re looking for a new date spot, this is it!
Parking is a challenge-everything else was worth the hassle, lots of construction in the area
Had a wonderful outdoor dining experience. We ordered burrata crostini, cacio e pepe, lamb scottidito and farm salad. Everything was delicious, and the crispy artichokes with the lamb were devine. Our server was attentive.
Very nice outdoor seating and excellent drinks, food and service
It was such a nice atmosphere that we plan on coming back with friends!
My husband and sons took me to II Brutto for my Birthday. I had the lasagna, my husband had the pasta with the cream sauce with cheese and pepper and my son had the gnocchi. The portions were small and it I did not even come with bread or a small dinner salad. It was way too pricey for the amount of food they give you. The service was pretty good. We were disappointed with the prices and potion size.
It felt like a fast food restaurant. It was clear that the cooks wanted to either go home or get out to the bar by 9pm. They rushed us to order, then rushed our food the entire time. They even served our main course at the same time as the salad. When we asked them to take it back, they placed it under a heat lamp and then served it 20 min later. It feels like a chain. Screaming kid with iPad at the table next to us, trash on the floor. 👎🏼
It wasn’t bad, but for the prices there’s far better restaurants at the same price point. The tiramisu was still frozen and dry.
Great outdoor patio, shaded by trees, and aided by fans. Surrounded by lively east 6th.
Had a fantastic time at IL Bruto! Definitely coming back. Food was SOOO GOOD and the staff was super friendly.
The vibe and the food were great! It was our first time going here, we’ll definitely be coming back more often!
How is this a water trade company restaurant? Ambiance and service were good. We did not care for the cocktails, apps or pastas we got. The squid ink-super salty with clams overly smelly. The cacio de Pepe-mediocre, when compared to those around town. The gnocchi-an after thought in a soupy watery tomato paste. We ordered a coke that was $6 and the refill charged another $6, so warning. Also the rest pricey.
I have never experience more rude and snooty staff. The food was ok, but the horrible service was enough for me to not come back.
Food is always amazing. Love this place. Everything is good. EVERYTHING,
I felt a bit disappointed with our experience. I got the Cacio e pepe and my partner got the lasagna. The lasagna was very undercooked to the point where it blended in with the cheese and it just felt like a mass of the same texture.
The cacio e pepe was alright, but nothing to write home about. Overall it left us wishing we'd spaced the stomach space for another meal worth the carbs.
Nice place, good service just not our taste for the price.
This was a repeat visit and Il Brutto did not disappoint! I highly recommend the IL Brutto Spritz—we tried both and the frozen was best. The farm salad was fresh and tasty, and I now have difficulty ordering any pasta dish but the agnolotti, because I love it so much. Also, the tiramisu is not to be missed. It’s perfection.
Great to be able to take our well-behaved pup to a date nite at a fabulous restaurant! Staff is super and well-coordinated.
The food had flavor and was incredibly fresh. Had the gnocchi and it came with red sauce which is different for me, loved it. Our bartender was on it. Alexander was slinging drinks like nobody’s business.
Food was very good, everyone had a different dish and all 4 guests were very pleased. The pizza oven back bread was memorable. Wine menu could use some more selections but was adequate. We ordered a Sangiovese ($92) and it was enjoyable. On a very hot day (98 outside) it seemed the A/C was struggling to cool the place off. Was warm inside until after sunset. We will definitely go back to Il Brutto. Very enjoyable evening.
