Ignite Wood Fire Grill
Disappointing. This was our 2nd visit, will most likely not return. we have a birthday dinner for my mother. the service was slow, the room was very noisy. When the food was served we were not provided with steak knives. Really? This is a steak joint, right? I had to get up and walk back to the kitchen to request the proper cutlery to eat our food (while it was getting cold). My poor mother, who has arthritis, was sawing away on her porkchop with a butter knife.
It seemed to take forever to get our server to box up our leftovers. The server saw the cards and gifts on the table and asked if we were celebrating something and we told her yes, it was a birthday, so the server handed out the dessert menus and asked if we wanted to buy dessert for the birthday girl. Seriously? Our total tab was around $250 with tip for 5 people and they can't offer a complimentary birthday dessert? I told her, "no thanks, we have cake back at the house".
Especially enjoy Sunday brunch! We'll be back again!
This was our fourth trip to Ignite and was our best experience there. The scallops are wonderful, although spicy (and no warning of that on the menu). The lamb gnocchi was only so-so. Don't need to try again. One complaint is that there are very few local beers on tap. With all the excellent breweries in KC, you would expect more local beers, like Blvd Tank Seven. Our main complaint is that this restaurant is extremely noisy, compounded by the fact that they play dreadful music way too loud.
Great place, price point is a tad high, high enough to make you think twice about visiting again.
We had excellent service. Food was good, but not good enough for the prices, which are high. I wish I had tried a steak, but I went with the pork shank. It was good, not great. A little bland.
Was disappointed in the food. Meat was tough and chewy.
Service could be a little better, other than that really nice place
The food was good but lukewarm and our server took a LONG time and then wasn't very friendly. We went with my husband's parents and it was a bit difficult to hold a conversation due to how loud it was. However, the restaurant is beautiful and their menu had a few things I'd like to go back and give it a second try.
The waitress did not smile much during our encounter with her. Perhaps she had something going on. Otherwise the ambiance is great and we had nice wine.
Service was a bit slow however she was very nice. All else 5 stars!
Wife and I went for a nice meal, have been here several times now and it’s always good. My only complaint is the cost to amount of food ratio can be disappointing, but the quality is definitely there. It’s a very cool establishment and the staff are friendly and attentive. I’ll be going back.
The food and atmosphere was very good. I had the filet and wife had the salmon. Both were excellent. In fact, I can't remember when I had a filet that good. It was cooked to perfection. Friends of ours had the pork chop and said it was outstanding. Service was very good as well. We will definitely be going back.
Great staff, very attentive. Food was delicious. We're shared the porterhouse and free dessert for our anniversary.
Only problem. One of the appetizer was out when we ordered them.
This was a great evening at a great place. Food was fresh and flavorful. Large portions and priced competitively for other similar places. My only complaint is the place was so dark I had to use my cell phone as a flashlight to read the menu.
Food was very good, nice wine selection, restaurant is very loud at peak time
Hannah, our server, was fabulous as was our chosen dishes. Scallops cooked to perfection and the signature roasted chicken was excellent. Happy to find a go to restaurant.
Me and my husband split house salad, the Ribeye with sides of mac and cheese and loaded mash potatoes. Our son had the hanger steak with side of ceasar salad and mac and cheese. For desserts Cheesecake, apple cobbler and ice cream sandwiches. All of it was very flavorful and delicious. John our server was great and polite.
I went for Sunday brunch and the food and service were great. I will be sure to visit again!
Our server was not good. This is actually the second time we have had him (older gentleman) and we will request someone else next time we go. My husband asked which beers were available on tap. He only gave him three options. We felt hurried through the entire meal. He cleared the cornbread muffins before we had a chance to try them.
Other issue was that we were sitting at a half circle booth close to the kitchen. It was so dark we could not read the menus. :(
Food was very good.
Great place for a special occasion. Great food and courteous staff.
I frequent this restaurant 2-3 times a month. The service and food I received during this visit was completely horrible. I will never visit this place again. Manager was not helpful either.
Lovely place, tasty food, clean bathrooms . Liked it overall
We went for brunch. There was an appetizer buffet that was $15 and you could add an entree for an additional $3 Our waitress offered to pack the entree to take home, as the buffet was substantial. For us, some of the highlights were smoked salmon with crackers, cream cheese, and capers, and shrimp cocktail. There were grilled veggies, an awesome potato, cheese, and bacon casserole, green salad, multiple pastries, and other goodies. It was ALL good!! My entree was a burrito filled with grilled steak. I’ve had 2 breakfasts from it at home. I would definitely have it again.
The one item that we wanted on the Valentine's menu was sold out. No offer to replace with another kind of steak. So we bought two $45 ribeye steaks instead. For this price you'd expect an exceptional quality steak. They were less than average a lot of weird chewy stuff that I had to spit into my napkin (great on a date night). The main meal came out only a few bites into our salads . It would have been nice to sit and enjoy the salads for a little bit before the hot food came. Broccoli and butternut squash side portion was less than a half cup and no butternut squash to be found. The plating was a slab of meat with some red blood floating around and the silver cup with the side . Not even a sprig of parsley. You would just expect a little more visually appealing presentation . We got the cheesecake with cherries to split and it was delicious, however, the piece was three" long. It looked like maybe they were running low on that and trying to make it last. The service was adequate. The atmosphere is very pleasant, with a lot of background noise. We probably won't recommend it to anybody and probably won't return.
Close to home, good service and food in a nice atmosphere, we have never been disappointed.
Fantastic ambiance and service. Drinks and appetizers were reasonably priced and we were never rushed. Steaks were stringy and tough. Would not order them again. Crab cakes were unbelievably good
This is very romantic, you can carry a conversation very easy.
Neil was our Server. He has outstanding customer service! The food was excellent!
The restaurant is very nice and the service is great but the food is over priced, mostly the steaks. Way over priced. Not the best flavor and a little over cooked. Many other places where you can pay the same the same price for great steak!
First and last time for a meal here. Food was lacking in taste. For a place with it's bragging about executive chefs, this was a big disappointment. I had steak and it was just "okay". My wife had the pork chop and stated it had "no taste". Only part of the meal that was good were the mashed potatoes. We actually stopped and got something to eat on the way home.
Comfortable, relaxed dining with really good food.
We had a great dinner and overall experience. Guys loved their pork specials, all the food was delish, and the ambiance was perfect. A busy Friday night with experienced & friendly wait service
The place is very nice. The service was good. The drinks were over priced. And the food was not worth the high prices. Our Caesar salads had big thick iceberg rib chunks. We shared an appetizer- wood grilled shrimp. It was so salty it was barely edible. Then we shared a ribeye sandwich. It was also ridiculously salty. And it was so fatty and thick it was impossible to eat as a sandwich. For that little bit of poor quality food, a bar drink, a bottle of beer and a glass of wine, the bill was $85 plus tip. Cost over $100 and wasn't even 2 full meals There were other items on the menu that may have been better. We may try again after we work all the salt out of our systems
Service was great. My Ribeye sandwich was not edible unless you prefer 60 percent fat and 40 percent meat. I don’t. They never should have allowed that sandwich to be put on a plate. For a $26 sandwich, this one is a deal breaker for me.
Absolutely the best salad I’ve had in years!
Great dinner with friends!
Chef and his team were excellent! Salmon superbly prepared. Steak soft and flavorful. Variety of appetizers blended well. Mike was very helpful with suggestions and prompt service. Love the space and layout.
Made reservations for 6:30 and when we showed up they didn’t have a reservation for us. They ended up sitting us by the bar. It took them 10 minutes to come to our table to give us water and then another 30 minutes to even order our food. Waiter was hit and miss when he came to the table and I had to go to the bar to get plates for our appetizers. They did comp one appetizer and a round of drinks but it took for ever for them to bring the bill. Once I sat my credit card on the table he was right over to grab it and then was gone for a while to run it when the register was one booth from us. Over all the food was good but the service was horrible. We’ve eaten there before and it was good but this time was not. Hopefully next time it will be better or we will just go elsewhere.
