Ignite Wood Fire Grill Ratings and Reviews
Ate here for the first time during KC Restaurant Week, so our menu choices were a little limited. My dining companion had the pork tenderloin, which was outstanding. I had a 10 oz strip steak, which was thin and a little tough. Salads, sides, and desserts were very good. I would go back.
Service was very good for a busy night during Restaurant Week. We had to wait 10 minutes past reservation. They brought our daughters drinks right away, but didn't take me or my wife's drink order until she wanted to take the dinner order. My wife's water glass had a crack in it. The Restaurant Week first and second course came at the same time. My wife and kids liked their food, my steak was a vain cut and a little underdone.
The pasta with Italian sausage and kale that I ordered was great, but the steak my husband received was not that great. Very thin. House made steak sauce was served with hit, that tastes good, but was cold. A warm sauce would have been better, but I’m not sure how they would make up for a 1/2 thick ribeye. They did have cherry cobbler for dessert and that was delicious! Service is awesome!
We have come to love Ignite for it's impeccable customer service and fantastically delicious food. We also like the roomy dining area and tastefully decorated decor. I have really come to love the Caesar Salad ... it's best in the metro. We will be back again soon.
My boyfriend and I went to Ignite during restaurant week during Monday late afternoon. The portions were small for the amount you pay. My boyfriend is a wine connoisseur, and was impressed with some of the options of wine. The food tasted good, but wasn’t blown away like I thought I was going to be. I was impressed that my sweet potatoes stayed hot for a long time due to the little silver bowl they placed it in. It took forever for service. Very slow and not very attentive. It was not busy at all so no excuse there. Although the atmosphere was great. Loved the decor and the smell of fire burning wood as soon as you open the door. Very open but kinda cozy at the same time. Liked the different options of seating. People were friendly. Mints on the way out were “cheap”. I can buy those at Walmart. Could have made a bit more effort in that area... just seemed kinda cheesy for the class of restaurant.
I had leftovers... my boyfriend did not. I tried his food and he tried mine during the meal. As soon as we left the restaurant my boyfriend wasn’t feeling well, which got worse. I was feeling fine. On our way to our next destination he really wasn’t feeling good, by this time I wasn’t feeling that well either. This may be way too much information but let’s just say ignite really ignited our fire!!! There is no way it could have been coincidence that we both got sick after we left the restaurant. Those leftovers never made it to the refrigerator and went straight into the trash. Which basically was money down the drain! Wasn’t going to risk getting sick again with whatever made us not feel well. No thank you. So I highly doubt we will be back there again. Was very disappointed in our experience. Maybe my expectations were too high! Although some of the things on the menu sounded very appealing and would love to try them for brunch sometime. Like the s’mores waffles I think they were called if I remember correctly. Maybe we will get brave another day.
Went there for lunch. They were out of various menu items (bread items, dessert items, ingredients for drinks on the drink menu...a lot of things I wanted to order and had figured in to me picking the restaurant on that day). I was disappointed because I had a great experience there for dinner on my birthday for dinner and had been looking forward to going back, but, for lunch, in addition to not being able to order things, the food was just okay compared to last time...meat was a bit dry/overcooked like it had been made way in advance in preparation for a rush and soup came out lukewarm.
What a find and right in our backyard! We had stayed away because we thought the menu would be pricey but to our surprise it is very reasonably priced! We tried out during restaurant week and have found a new place! The atmosphere was just enough cool without being too much. The temperature was comfortable on one of the coldest nights in a long time. Salmon was excellent and steak was seasoned just right although it was more medium well than medium. Clam chowder was tasty. I recommend trying Ignite!
Beautiful dining areas, great food, excellent servers, management involvement with guests (Kevin was awesome!!!), fun, right amount of noise, had a great time!!! Dined during Restaurant Week and my wife and I found a gem! We joined the rewards club to take advantage of some of the special events coming up! It was a cold, cold Sunday and restaurant was warm and cozy. Can't wait for summer and the patio!!!!
First time to visit, but won't be our last. Great choice for restaurant week, wish we had perused the regular menu but we will return. Great food. Loved the choice of music. Tables had a welcome distance between them. Tv visible w no sound was good for checking game score.
The restaurant was out of all the special things we came to eat for brunch: chocolate donuts, Opéra cake, and the bacon-chocolate chip cookies. I ordered a hash that was just soggy old French fries covered in a bland red sauce. Very disappointing! We love them for lunch though!
Decent food, but nothing special. My husband was not impressed with his steak, but maybe they are lesser quality on the restaurant week menu. We were surprised there by the lack of a special cocktail menu at the bar. Service was ok, had to ask for napkins / utensils when our food arrived and we would have drank more if our server had come around to ask.
We ate at Ignite for Restaurant Week. This was our second time to dine at Ignite. We had the same server as our first visit. While he was attentive at first, I was facing a room that contained two large groups and he had both of those groups. He also had the table next to ours. Once he got busy with the large groups we did not see him until we got our bill. I would have liked a drink refill, but he didn't come back, so I didn't get the chance. Since it was Restaurant Week, we had a fairly set menu, including desert. We asked our server for desert to go and he said it would be fine. A different server brought us our dessert on plates, we told her it was "to go" and she took it back. When she brought it back in the "go" bag, she chastised us for getting a Restaurant Week item "to go" saying they weren't supposed to provide that. We had ordered cobbler (our only choice) and when she brought them back, she had combined them in one container with the ice cream still on top of them. Between our loss of our regular server to large parties and the rudeness of the dessert server, our evening was more or less ruined, at the least it put a damper on it. I now have negative feelings about Ignite, which I'm sorry about because we enjoyed going there.
Loved the atmosphere!! Lighting, seating, design was perfect. The service could not have been better and the food was very good. My wife has the swordfish , she cleaned her plate ( something I have never seen her do). I had the strip steak and it was very tasty. I would absolutely recommend this place!
My wife and I have been wanting to try Ignite for about a year so we decided that her birthday would be a nice occasion to do so. We were not disappointed! She had the salmon, I had the rotisserie chicken and dumplings. For dessert we split the chocolate chip cookie with bacon and homemade ice cream on top. It was killer!
Service was ok, food was good but not hot enough. Probably sat too long before serving it.
One meal had to be sent back for warm up. I had to eat my meal as it was just warm but was
almost finished before wife’s meal was returned. It was fine but not what you expect when
paying over $120 . Would not recommend this restaurant for fine dining.
Nice facility and nice people but could use a little training back stage.
We took great-grandmother to Christmas Eve dinner with us - a lively group of 5. Food was amazing, drinks were great and service was friendly and attentive. It looked like a great bar area as well with garage doors that go up during nice weather. A definite gem.
We were so disappointed. We had hoped to have a very special Xmas Eve dinner at this supposedly very nice restaurant. We elected to try their “family style” dinner. The coffee was cold. We had to ask for plates and utensils each time a course was brought out. Very weird. The food was lukewarm. We were to get a half chicken and when it came there was no breast. The spinach and rice/beans side dishes were awful. . When dessert came out in a big bowl, again we had to ask for separate plates and spoons. Expensive and very, very disappointing! We will not come back.
This was our first experience at Ignite, we'd heard a lot about it and we were not disappointed. Our service was amazing! Our waitress was a delight. The food was perfect (I suggest the foccacia bread to start! Warm and delicious!) and came out quickly. The dessert was awesome! (Perfect peach cobbler) This was the perfect place to start a new Xmas Eve tradition. We're excited to come back next year, but even more excited to visit in the spring/summer to try out the house made sorbets and sit on the patio, as suggested by our waitress. You will not be disappointed!
