Food was very good. Service was very attentive. First time visit, but will go back.
I heard this place was amazing so decided to try it out for Mother’s Day. Maybe it was the afternoon rush but the food left much to be desired. The prime rib was way too rare, the buffet lacked fresh items, and they ran out of a few key things. My steak and eggs entree was decent but could have been better seasoned. The burger on the brunch menu does not come with fries so beware when ordering. You will have to order fries a la carte. The waffle was very dense and flavorless (and came out cold) and the chicken and waffles is only served with dark meat. I like dark meat but the option for white meat would be nice for those who don’t.
The web site also needs to be update to reflect serving times. It says brunch is from 10-3pm so we hoped to order off the dinner menu. However, brunch actually ended at 4pm. Maybe this was a special time due to Mother’s Day, but it still should be posted and communicated to all of the staff since our waiter thought we could order off of the dinner menu.
The food wasn’t what my family expected, but we had a very nice waiter and the manager even stopped by to greet us and explain the menu.
O.K., so in the past I have really enjoyed my Ignite experience; I recommend them a lot, and have given good reviews. However- my family took me there for Mothers Day, and what a disaster. So, so disappointing. They were in no way prepared, and had obviously brought in several extras waitstaff that had no business being there.
They don't have a very good brunch, and the "experience" of going to the bar to get your own brunch beverage was ridiculous. The server and bartender explained that it was in order to make your own Bellini, Bloody Mary or Mimosa from all their special toppings- most of which were empty bowls. Just sad. The brunch buffet suffered from empty bowls as well. C'mon folks- for $18?
We did have a (manager?) stop by and ask how things were going, and oddly enough- he just walked away as we addressed the bar questions. Very unprofessional.
I'll probably go back and give them another chance and hope that it was just a really OFF day, but it was a big disappointment for that day.
We ate here for mother's day and everything from the food, atmosphere and service was phenomenal.
We went to Ignite for Mothers Day. The food was delicious and varied, had a unique make your own drink bar and yummy dessert bar. The ambiance was very nice and we plan to go back and enjoy their outside bar area one evening.
Mothers Day brunch was excellent!
Food was expensive. Like, more than Capital Grille expensive. The kids menu needs work, and the portions are tiny compared to other places.
Food was excellent and atmosphere was nice. Seemed a little pricey for lunch.
The service was excellent, Don was our server and very good at his position. We came for Sunday brunch and it just was not what we were used to or had expected. We thought the open selections were few and none of them had names (signs) so not for sure what it was. The price was good and the ordered entree was very good. All in all it was, well ok but I don't think we'll try brunch again for some time. We will come in for dinner soon and we hope our experience is better,
We went to an early "Mother's Day" celebration and Ignite delivered! Delicious food, great atmosphere on the patio, and excellent service. We will be back!
We had a great dinner! Both are entrees were really good, yummy sides ad my husband even splurged on dessert that was great as well. Loved the decor, ambiance and vibe. I just recommend ed it to a group of friends last night.
This was our 6th or 7th time to eat at Ignite. This was also our first disappointment. The waiter talked us into trying the new T-bone with Lobster tail and Prawns. $80. The T-bone was not good. The filet side of the T-bone was inedible. Total gristle and tough. We were also not impressed with either the lobster or the prawns. I would have rated the food lower, but the sides were very good and we were gifted cherry cobbler which was delicious. I also want to say the service was very good and the manager showed much concern. In addition to the cobbler, she had the kitchen bring us a filet, which was excellent. Everyone can get a bad steak now and then. This was a new item and I hope their supplier delivers better cuts in the future.
Dinner was really good. Nice atmosphere. Staff was friendly.
We were seared at a table at which two of the party had to stare into the sun for the entire meal. It was quite uncomfortable. Even after a complaint no one attempted to alleviate the problem. I mentioned the problem again as we were leaving and the head man just laughed at me.
The food is great, service is awesome we always have a great time!
Bar service was excellent. Great selection of wines, beers & hard liquor. Food was fantastic. The steaks were done perfectly. Outside patio was comfy. My one & issue was price. Just a bit high!
I have only been here twice but both times the food has been excellent. The cojita corn is amazing! I was looking forward to the chocolate flourless cake but they took it off the menu.
As always, the staff was excellent and the food was exceptional.
Sun coming through windows was blinding for quite a while even with blinds pulled down. Then sun reflected off building next to Ignite again blinding light. Had to keep head down to avoid looking into sun! Our server was fantastic. Did not rush us at all which we appreciated. Love the vegetable sides. Disappointed you took porterhouse for two off menu. That is what we initially came for so had to make another selection.
Mitch is very personable and the food is always great! It's my neighborhood go-to place!
Great food and nice place!!
Great spot to meet friends. Outdoor patio is delightful.
We had a good time at the restaurant, overall. But felt like we didn't get our $ worth.
I think the high prices and a la carte menu should come with better service, and free bread service. Service was good, but not outstanding. This is standard when you go to place like Bristol or Sullivans which are priced at the same level as Ignite. It just came short for us considering that it costs just as much as going to a real fine dining restaurant.
My review is a tale of two visits: The first time I went to Ignite it was great. Our waitress helped us with wine, entree and side choices. She was attentive but not annoying. Everything was great. The second time we went our food was tasty but 5 mins after it arrived it was cold. Not "not hot", not "not warm" but COLD. This applied to everything we ordered: 2 entrees plus 4 sides. Not wanting to send our entire dinner back to be reheated, we soldiered on and ate our meals. It was a little hard to eat cold fish.
A manager (I guess, she never introduced herself) asked us how our meals were. We told her about the temperature of our meals. She suggested in might have been due to an overhead breeze or being near the front door. I think we would have noticed either of those. She made no offer for a free dessert or glass of wine so I guess she wasn't too concerned about it.
Lastly, our waitress stopped by our table what seemed to be every couple of minutes to the point we felt like she was anxious for us to leave to get the next table seated. We had a 615p reservation and was out before 7p. We always order a bottle of wine when we go out so we like to enjoy a glass before our dinner and another during. We didn't really feel like we could sip our wine and enjoy it. I am not saying I would never go back to Ignite, but with so many great restaurants in KC, I will probably try a few new ones before circling back to Ignite.
Great Place, good food, great service. Plan to be back soon!!
Great looking place, great service but the food could have used more seasoning. I am born, raised in New Orleans and I like food with a bit more flavour.
Another excellent meal, love the turkey Rueben, great service from our waitress, Diamond- I never hesitate to recommend Ignite!
I had high hopes for Ignite; a great location and very nice interior design. It attempts to be upscale in decor and food pricing, but the wait staff attire is not commensurate with that theme.
As a "foodie" I was hoping for tastes that were really delightful and unique. Unfortunately, the best I can say is that their food was neither of those.
Very nice location , beautiful decor, Excellent Service, many seating options . Most of the food was excellent and presentation was great. However for the price paid for a steak it was a bit chewy, expected better. I would give it a try again and recommend to friends.
Love this restaurant. So inviting. Reminds me of CA.
Really glad we have another upscale location for business lunches in Lenexa. Always good, and the bread service is killer.
The restaurant itself was very cool, loved the look and ambience. Had lunch with a friend and I ordered the fried chicken sandwich . When I started eating I looked and thought the color looked off. Turns out they use a thigh so it’s both white and dark meat . Personally I dislike dark meat and the description never mentioned it. I assumed it was a normal chicken breast. When I mentioned to my server he just commented that it was a thigh and that it has more flavor so that’s why they use it. Fine, but the menu should be more clear. He noticed I wasn’t eating it but never made an effort to offer me another dish or compensate.
I may give it another try since it’s nice to finally have a cool restaurant in this area but I’m in no rush. I’m happy to visit Leawood or country club plaza where there are plenty of better options.
Had planned a Birthday dinner for my wife and myself. They recognized her several times during the occasion by saying “Welcome, and Happy Birthday” that made the evening more enjoyable.
First time for brunch and loved it!
We had Easter brunch with family. The staff was very helpful and accommodating as the weather delayed us. We had a table in our own little dining nook which was wonderful.
Everything we ordered as well as from the buffet was amazing. I enjoyed some of the best shrimp and grits and we'll definitely eat there again!
Great brunch and mimosas
I had brunch here on Easter and it was wonderful. I had eaten here twice before and 1 time was great, the other not so great. So I was pleased that I had a good time this visit. I am sure to be back!
Great Easter brunch with mimosa/bloody mary bar, huge buffet and dessert bar. Plus you order an entree from the menu. Notable are the empanadas on the buffet , the shrimp & grits entree and the warm apple or blackberry cobblers. More food than I need but all delicious!
Easter brunch. Very pricey. Food okay, selection okay. Sadly Brewbakers or Barleys selection is better. Bloody Mary bar was too expensive and they were not good. In a small glass too. Great food when not forced to eat Overpriced Brunch.
