Excellent all around. We had the filet Neptune with crabmeat. Our waiter didn’t bat an eye when I asked for mine “on the rare side of medium rare” - it came out perfect. I can’t remember when I had a more tender cut of meat! Service was attentive and discreet. Truly a wonderful experience.

It was our first time to Hy's and we celebrated my birthday. The food was simply amazing from start to finish, and our waiter, Dino, was simply helpful and went above and beyond to provide exceptional Customer Service. We will definitely be back.

Excellent food, bit overpriced, couldn't partake in happy hour just because we were in the dining room yet the dining room was empty. We could see and hear the live music so not being able to partake was a little silly, especially if we have a super early dinner reservation.

What can you say about Hys that hasn’t been said…exceptional in every way. From the moment you walk in you are surrounded by an elevated experience. The chairs, the surroundings, the vibe set the mode then you are wowed by amazing service and food. My all time favourite in Calgary!

Hy is a favorite but my Steak au Poivre was a bit overcooked, a bit meh! The poivre sauce was too long on flour and too short on taste.

$160 meal (including tip) included smallest steak they had with fries and salmon special. One beer, no other drinks, no appetizer and no dessert. Steak was bad and salmon was off.

The service at Hy’s is just phenomenal. They do such a wonderful job choosing and training their staff. Thedo was our server and he was just wonderful! Cheese toast, ceasar salad, and steaks were delectable. I love Hy’s!!!

Hy’s food is just out of this world (and that comes from a man that knows how to appreciate a good steak and any sort of meat cut). I had the Gorgonzola filet while my wife had Steak Neptune (the filet). Both prices melted in our mouths. The appetizers were nothing short of delicious and both the old fashioned and negroni were awesome. Our server (Kim) prompt, competent and very pleasant. Wife and I agreed to make regular visits to Hy’s.

For the past 40 years, there have been two venerable steakhouses in Calgary. Hy’s is one of them and has in the last 5 years evolved into a more modern version of themselves with a very good combination of new modern ambience and nouveau traditional steakhouse cuisine. In addition, the lounge is a very popular central component serving high-quality drinks.

We had an absolutely amazing dinner experience at Hy's. The service was outstanding. It was such a lovely experience to watch Kim make our Cesar salad for us at our table side. She was very knowledgeable and shared the salad dressing recipe with me. I was very impressed with our meal from beginning to end. First rate and top notch come to mind in describing Hy's!

This is the first time in all the years I have been taking clients to Hy’s that they let us down. Steaks were drastically undercooked and cuts were poor, service was fine however not exceptional. I will not be taking clients there again after this experience. Ceasars or modern are now the two steakhouses downtown I would recommend the guild is also quite good.

Simply perfect steak! Delightful wine. Private-feeling booths are cozy yet roomy. Table-staff John was very professional, knowledgeable, and helpful in recommendations. Live music was gentle, background music, and not overly attention-stealing. It’s a little bit dark inside though. 5/5 experience. Would absolutely return here.

Our evening at Hy’s was a highlight of our trip to Calgary. Dino was our server and he made our entire evening special from start to finish! The table side bananas foster was a treat, paired with a delicious dessert wine he recommended. Our steaks were cooked perfectly and we enjoyed the fun atmosphere of this upscale restaurant. This is definitely a place we will return when we are in town! Thank you Dino for a perfect night out.

Had a good lunch and arrived a bit early around 11:45 due to commitments right after lunch; service was prompt and quality of food was good. Prices were a bit high but a great location for a business lunch downtown Calgary.
