Amazing place! Loved everything about this place! Food was EXCELLENT, and they even added a nice touch since it was my birthday!
HMK is now our favorite Roy Yamaguchi restaurant! Beautiful setting with sunset views, outstanding small plates to share, delicious and generous-sized entrées, all with Roy’s signature flair. A true homerun experience!
Service was amazing...food was even better...and thank you for the lil anniversary dessert.
and the Maui Golden dessert was amazing...we own the farm
Attentive and friendly staff. Our Go To for Asian Hawaiian fusion.
Everything on the menu is delicious. Preparation and presentation is classic Roy’s style.
Great personal service, very good food, nice view, pleasant ambience.
We had a wonderful experience- from the exceptional service provided by Shane to the delicious food. The calamari was great as was the monchong. We had the chocolate gluten free dessert which was very good as well. Beautiful ambiance. Can’t wait to go back!
Amazing view of the sunsets. Service and food were excellent. Worth a try even if not staying in the resort.
The view was beautiful and the food was absolutely delicious!! Great restaurant to have a nice romantic dinner for our last night on the island!
My wife and I had one of the best meals on the island. If you want to share this is the place to go. The size and presentation was wonderful. We will be dining there again. Thank you for a great experience
Delicious, but pricey. Yet that's expected in Maui right?
Our favorite restaurant in Wailea, this was our third visit. The food is flavorful, consistent and never disappointing. We love the Kula mixed greens salad which is very simple but shockingly fresh and tasty. It has a light dressing with blue cheese and nuts. We’re not sure if they grow their own vegetables but the lettuce tastes like it was just picked from the garden. We highly recommend it and it is nice size to split. Our other go to dish is the Phoenix roll. It’s spicy and creamy and the perfect balance of flavors. The fish is very fresh and high quality. On this visit we had the baby back ribs appetizer which had an awesome spicy, sweet sauce. We also had the braised short ribs which were fall apart tender and excellent. We love this restaurant and can’t imagine a visit to Maui without dining here. If you like cocktails the Magnum PI is like a whisky mai tai. I am not a big whisky drinker but I loved it.
Amazing and very delicious! We've been before and forgot just how delicious the food is!
I made a reservation for my ladys 29th birthday through open table. I decided to call HMK afterwards to verify the reservation and also share some details for our dinner reservation. I told them that that I just wanted to dinner to be special because the person whose birthday it was truly deserved an amazing day. I was greeted by the manager Anthony shortly after we were sat at our table. I had no idea that they had planned to take such special care of us and provide us with an unforgettable experience. I highly recommend the place not just for the quality of food which was excellent but because they made my dinner very special and memorable. We are grateful for them taking care of us. Thank you to the whole humble Market kitchin team you guys are awesome. We will be back for sure.
We were in Hawaii for almost 3 weeks, Humble Kitchen was my favorite. Every bite delectable.
Just not as good as Roy’s or Nicolina’s that used to be in Kahana
EXCEPT for the Lava Cake.
Great food, great service!
Jeff our server was awesome
Food was perfect
Drinks were excellent
Experience was first class all the wAy
Delicious food 😍
Absolutely great fish! Kerri is also a superb server.
Humble Market Kitchin has become one our favorite dining spots on Maui. The food is farm-to-table fresh, beautifully prepared and presented; the service has always been exceptional and the view is spectacular!
As always, the food was incredibly delicious. Loved the new dessert that was served for my husband's birthday.
Great food one again, and our server Anthony was excellent! Thank you :)
Humble Market was great to deal with. The venue was really amazing and we got a seat outside with a terrific view right before sunset. Calamari appetizer was calamari appetizer, hard to screw that up but nothing special. Also had a vegetarian sushi roll that advertised avocado but had asparagus instead and wasn't that special either. To add to this we submitted a request via open table that some vegan options would be appreciated and they did deliver with a special vegetarian menu that could be modified.
Talking with the waitress left something to be desired. It seemed like she didn't really know things to suggest. I asked a couple if questions about sourcing of the beef and she knew that the chef didn't like the local grass fed beef flavor and thus didn't source the beef locally. They only had a couple if different kinds of local fish done 3 different ways and she seemed to strongly recommend the seafood carbonara. I prodded a couple of different times and she reassured me that it was a solid choice.
The seafood carbonara was a true disappointment. There were 5 of the tiniest shrimp bites, 2 solid lobster pieces and 3 big scallops and a sous vide egg. The egg was unnoticeable. The shrimp we're very small and the three scallops all had sand in them. Many unplanned vegetables and not that great.
Wine pairing with the waitress also seemed like a non-starter. We were sitting with my aunt who used to own and run a wine shop and she gave the waitress every opportunity to guide us to a wine that would compliment our foods and the waitress just wouldn't help at all. We ended up with a Peju Merlot that was fine.
Other items ordered was the potato crusted monchongo fish which was ok and the tofu stir fry that was ok. I also had the Double Take cocktail that was fine. Everything was just fine. The best part was just the vegetarian menu that could be modified to be made vegan.
The breakfast buffet is pretty sad. It is certainly not up to the level of the price of comparable hotels ant not what I would expect of a Marriott resort. I suspect other guest felt the same as most mornings the restaurant was nearly empty. The fruit was OK but not fresh. The loc was clearly second rate. And the bagels tasted one day old like they came from the grocery store.
It’s a great hotel and the views spectacular but they really need to do something about the restaurant
Humble Market Kitchen is a terrific restaurant. I visit this restaurant frequently and take my clients here to celebrate real estate closings. They always love it and are very impressed with the service, ambiance and of course, the food! The restaurant is located at the Wailea Marriott and boasts fantastic views of the ocean and nearby beaches. Sunsets on the lanai are very popular. Roy Yamaguchi did a fabulous job with this restaurant. You have to try the rack of lamb!!
Disappointing. Limited selection of fruit. Melon not fresh. Greasy eggs
Overall a minus ten in a four star hotel
If you are looking for an outstanding dining experiece, this is the place. We will be back next time we are in Wailea!
Both white and red wines we ordered were awful, my fish was dry and our waiter was a little slow.
The Spicy tuna roll with candied walnuts on top was amazing!
Excellent, original dishes with a Hawaiian twist served over looking the Pacific Ocean
We really wanted to like this place! The waiter was great. Our table was the best! The food....not so great. Roy....you usually do better.
Every Roy’s restaurant is reliably outstanding.
Great service . Celebrated my move to Maui 28 years ago!
Awful. Overpriced. Not creative. Asian dishes (like dum sum and ramen) are salt bombs.
Great food ! Contemporary style of Chef Roy !
Our server was extremely knowledgeable and offered wine suggestions that were not upsells based on our choices. Fantastic food and great atmosphere. Will be back!
-Sushi and potstickers - outstanding. Fish was fresh, flavor and style of prep and seasoning/flavor was wonderful.
-Waitress that looked after our water/cleaning our table was excellent.
-Waiter was a distraction, he detracted from the experience. Aggressive in style, delivery, assumption comments that could have offended some. Do not believe it was intentional, rather likely lacking in self-awareness/control. Did not align with the quality of the restaurant, cuisine, price point and ambience that Roy seemed to intentionally desire to create with Humble Market Kitchin. Great place and would recommend but would request another waiter.
Friendly reception and bar servers. Happy Hour drink menu and appetizers are a great value. Seafood selection for main menu is excellent. HMK as is Roy’s are top notch when it comes to fine dining experience. Menu selections are excellent. We dine here monthly and will keep coming back.
We had a fabulous dinner at HMK last week, so we were looking forward to breakfast. Very disappointing. Can’t recommend it at all.
