Michael our server was phenomenal but apart from that everything went downhill. Reception was a long process.
Overpriced and bad food
Had a lovely dinner here while on vacation - ask for Alan he is an incredible team member and made our experience delightful! We visited after the Thanksgiving rush and it is quite a big restaurant.. I assume that it gets full during peak season but it wasn't on the night we were there. It still felt relatively lively despite it not being a full house. What would have made this place 5 stars for me would be just a slightly more packed house (nothing you can do about that but it's a huge space) and a little bit more value in the food.. the happy hour and appetizers were great but the entrees were where we were left wanting a bit more. Either more special and creative or more value for money.. The dessert was delicious!
Chef Roy Yamaguchi never disappoints. This restaurant offers great food, service and atmosphere. Will definitely make it back next time.
We had a wonderful evening dining on the patio. The food was great, the service was friendly and efficient. Highly recommended!
Outdoor ocean front
Can’t go wrong
Sashimi and sushi are excellent. Ramen not good. The broth is unimpressive. Service was attentive and friendly. Wine prices as we are finding all over the island have gotten silly ridiculous. This restaurant is expensive so I do expect perfection. The sushi and sashimi were. Sitting on the patio is relaxing and comfortable.
Interrogated when ordering cocktails, water never refilled, food brought at all different times. Desert menu brought as soon as we got entree.
Not the caliber of service for price point
Amazing food. Accommodating service and beautiful ambiance.
Food is average. M fish was bone dry and Luke warm. Service was average. Lots of better places to get a good meal in Wailea
The food was good, but you should be ready for a long wait.
The breakfast buffet was awesome!! And the kids chocolate chip pancakes were the best pancakes I've ever tasted! They use mochi to make them, makes my mouth water just talking about it! Our service was great too!
It was very good.
It was my sisters birthday. My husband looked up the restaurant and we are familiar with Roy Yamaguchi’s other restaurants. We wanted to try it since it opened up couple years ago. The bartender name Skipper was very knowledgeable with the drinks and the food (people person). We try what he recommended and enjoyed it very much. We were waiting for dinner and was able to be seated on the outside. The server name Alan was pleasant and attentive! We also tried what he recommended for our meal! It was better than most of the 5 star restaurants we went to in Wailea. We dined out for 11 days and this was the best all of us decided on. Definitely will be back in few months and want to try other dishes on the menu!
Great food and service. Would highly recommend.
Everything is so good here. The entire staff are friendly and attentive. Happy Hour is excellent, fantastic appetizers and cold beer.
Our dinner meals came hot and plentiful. This is our top restaurants to come to.
We ate breakfast here based on others' recommendations and were disappointed with the breakfast buffet.
The restaurant has a wonderful setting, right on the ocean with an incredible view. The hotel itself is top-notch and deserves a visit just to see, even if you don't stay there or eat at the restaurant.
We choose the breakfast buffet because the food looked delicious. Unfortunately, all of the food was cold, even the food you'd expect to hot. Admittedly, it night be a challenge to keep large pans of sausage, bacon, scrambled eggs, and hash browns hot, but other restaurants seem to have figured out how to do so. The pre-cooked waffles were served at room temperature and were disappointing as well. For $34, we expected something just a little better.
The cold items were all very good, except the papaya that was slightly overripe and the croissants that were not at all flakey.
Other guests who ordered off the menu were brought steaming food straight from the kitchen. If you enjoy your breakfast at a temperature other than lukewarm, you may want to skip the buffet.
The service was wonderful.
It was so good the first night we came back the next. We had Corina both evening - she was great, as was the food and the ambience!
We’re planning on coming back again before we have to go home!
Service was great, Food was amazing, and elegant decor
The food is good. Nit great. But very tasty. The Pina Coloda was one of the best I had my entire trip. The location is quite nice with the outdoor seating and they were very accommodating with our request for outdoor seating.
The only negative was the server we had. While other servers seem to engage their clients and explain the menu I detail our server seemed more interested in just getting us in and out: when asked about the menu and her favorites she simply answered everything was good. For a restaurant of this level I expect better from the server.
Overall, pleasant. Food tasty but not as good as I remember.
Very noisy, lots of kids
Everyone and everything was well done and it made for a very enjoyable evening.
It is a beautiful restaurant setting. Although i had made reservations, we were seated in a booth in the bar. (No view but comfy). We had high expectations since it is a Roy’s restaurant. We dined during Dine Wailea restaurant week, and all went with the pri fixed menu. We all enjoyed the HMK dumplings, but unfortunately the mains (short ribs and Asian pesto fish) and the dessert ( a very odd assortment of flavors and texture) were all a miss for the table. So even though the price of $49 was a deal, not when 2/3 of food was disappointing . Wine and cocktails were great - Loved our server/bartender. He made the evening. (we think we would go back for the regular menu...)
Food was very good, but we were not so in a hurry as our server was. I would prefer to have a short break between appetizer and main course, but I couldn't even finish before main was served.
Ono food; great drinks; fantastic service. Five stars all around.
Food was overall good, some dishes were “sold” a little and nothing special like calamari. The ambiance was nice and our server was very engaged and fun but also clearly upwelling a little.
The view and environment is nice. The food and service is good. Great for sunset dinning.
Fantastic dining experience
We went for restaurant week and tried the chefs menu. Food tasted like it was mass produced for that evening. Needed seasoning(and I never salt my prepared food). Also both dishes were dry. The service was excellent! We would try this restaurant again and maybe order off the menu to see if the food is better.
Down fall: If one is having dinner they can't do 'Happy Hour'.
The ala carte menu worked well for us rather than the buffet offerings. Servings are large though. Service was friendly and accommodating. Nothing too special.
Food was fair I would not go back or recommend this restaurant. There are better picks on the island
Perfect in every way. We really enjoyed the service. Hats off to our bus boy for recommending the soufflé. Our server was exceptional too.
Amazing sunset view! Great service. Drinks and dinner were very good. Kamaaina discount is great perk. Definitely recommend!
The food is great as is the service. Be sure to go at sunset.
Food was excellent as is indicative of Chef Roy. Service was excellent. Ask for Anthony to be your server. You won't be disappointed.
Visiting from LA with some local friends from Oahu. On our last night in Maui, decided we wanted to celebrate. Made last minute rsvp's here, and what a great choice! You Yelpers do not disappoint! We had the sashimi and oysters for starters; then the short rib, lamb, surf & turf and the fresh catch of the day as entrees. No complaints on any of these dishes! Everything was prepared as ordered, and flavor was fresh and on point. For dessert, because we checked-in, received the chocolate souffle complimentary! All of us were licking our spoons from all that rich chocolate flavor! Service was attentive but not intrusive, and she noted that our friends were locals and gave us a kamaina discount! Points for noticing so that we didn't have to ask! My skepticism was abundant as I do not typically like "hotel restaurants", but this was truly an experience! We had a wonderful time, and the next time I'm back, I'll be sure to make rsvps for dinner again, but also to partake in their breakfast buffet!
Food was meh. Mahi-mahi was disappointing. Service was not bad.
