   Nice decor, but food is average at best and service was surprisingly slow considering there was only a set menu on offer (which was not made clear on the website or at the time of booking).

   Amazing Sunday roast - the roast potatoes were cooked to perfection and I loved the addition of cauliflower cheese. We shared a few of the starters which were all delicious, and the wine was reasonable too.

   All 8 meals were stone cold when they arrived and the chefs just reheated the everyone’s plates beer their grill. The venison was then overcooked and people ate most of their meals out of hunger and politeness. The manager was very apologetic and discounted the meal. While the decor is very nice they were playing 90’s pop hits like Peter Andre, Spice Girls and Luniz. Very odd accompaniment to a fine dining venue. Did not match the ambience they are trying to achieve. We had great hopes for the evening as the menu looks lovely, overall was an embarrassing and disappointing experience.

   Great cocktails and good food. We were there quite early as we had to go to a concert after, but there were already plenty of people to create a nice atmosphere. Very friendly waiter and the restaurant is decorated nicely.

   Lovely food, great ambience, service was a bit ropey at first but staff went out of their way to rectify mistakes.

   This was a pre-concert booking (Union Chapel). We found the staff attentive and the food very good - without being outrageously expensive. An easy walk between the venue and the restaurant. Would definitely go again!

   @the_roast_doctor The @hoxley_and_porter are an unsung hero of the Upper Street roast scene (which is totally a thing ) £19.50 for two courses ,with a choice of all the meats and a #vegieroast option. It was great value before the inclusion of the starter (pic2). Decent amount of veg , free cauliflower cheese and fresh crunchy green beans. I had the beef which wasn’t the best but not the worst , the lamb (pic 1) was above average. Happy hour available with #cocktails at £6, alas I start a new Job tomorrow so couldn’t partake. My only complaint would be the gravy was a bit thin and the cauliflower needed a slightly more flavoursome cheese (maybe a smidgeon of Stilton ). Recommended if you like all the trimming

   Visited with group of friends, celebrated bday and were served amazing cocktails and really tasty food! The bar stuff was very attentive and manager made me feel special as my bday celebration!! Thank you

    I was delighted and pleased after my dinner at Hoxley and Porter, excellent quality of food and good value. Will definitely comeback.
