We’ve eaten at Horno several times and always enjoyed the food. This time 3 of 4 meals were disappointing. Tuna tartar was overwhelmed by creamy, overpowering sauce (mixed into fresh tuna), hamburger similarly was not as expected with soggy fries, chicken mattone disappointing. Cesar salad arrived with 2 white anchovies set on two thin pieces of toast and 6 leaves of romaine for $12. Will not return.

When we were last in Santa Fe in April 2024, we liked Horno so much that we returned for a second time two nights later. Were looking forward to our return visit on this trip but sadly were disappointed. Admittedly, our experience was probably influenced by an extremely loud and rude party of four seated next to us, a situation the restaurant cannot really control. My wife and I could barely carry on a conversation. My wife enjoyed her meatball, and the Caesar salad we shared was fine but unremarkable. My hamburger was okay but the fries, while hot, were limp and seemed soggy. Server replaced them with an order that was somewhat more crisp but still not what I was expecting. "Pop tart" dessert was awful—tasteless and topped with an unappetizing hard sugar coating and sprinkles. Our server was excellent and did all that she could to help rectify.

If you haven’t tried Horno, you must. I’ve been there several times and every time it has been a great experience. Typically start with Horno Focaccia and it is delish! Last night I started with the Smoked Chicken Wings ~ the best wings I’ve ever had, hands down. The Caesar salad is great, as well as Roasted Beet salad. Squid Ink Spaghetti is wonderful, as well as Pollo Mattone and Dumplings will not disappoint. They have a great wine list as well as specialty drinks. Service staff is friendly and on point. You won’t be disappointed.

Vegan options are fabulous. I had focaccia with olive tampenade, a beet salad and dumplings in coconut milk/lime sauce. My partner had the rockfish special.

Great food, great service, wonderful evening! Three of my guests were from out of town. One said the chicken was the best chicken she had ever had. One had the fish special. I forget what kind it was, but she said it was her favorite kind of fish and she had eaten it all over the world. She said Horno’s was the best she had ever had! I was so happy that my out-of-town guests were so pleased and satisfied!

Consistent, incredible food and service! Best fried chicken I’ve had, reminiscent of the best places in New Orleans! Owner Heather, gracefully and efficiently runs the front of house while her chef husband, David, expertly executes flawless food from the kitchen. Top three restaurants in Santa Fe to be sure! If you haven’t been, do yourself a favor and make a reservation sooner than later! You’re welcome!
