We typically love HIRO but we were seated in what appeared to be a party room. All the other tables in there had 6+ people and then my husband and I were ticked away in a little corner. We could barely speak to each other because the acoustics were so bad and the large groups were all so loud. Not an ideal seating area arrangement for two people, especially after making a reservation.
The food and environment were good, our only complaint was the service. We didn't feel like we received much attention and what we did get wasn't the most pleasant. We don't go out much any more, and although we're fine with looking at a menu on our phones, we don't appreciate not being told that was the deal when seated. By the time our servers came and asked us about drinks and appetizers, we still had no clue and we were told in an unkind way to scan the QR code and actual menus were unavailable. The man at the table next to us had an actual menu, so how were we to know this. Also, if I want an actual menu I should have the option. After that, check-ins were few and far between. We had two servers, since one was in training, which actually led to worse service and I don't feel the trainee was receiving the proper training.
Great food! One of our favorites!!
Very friendly staff; super helpful with menu descriptions.
Everything was great. We enjoyed the meal, the service and the company of the staff. We will be back.
HIRO is always fantastic.
Food is always very good, as is the service.
Everything was great, service and ambience was good. Actually tried some different things on the menu.
I adore Hiro 88 and especially appreciate their Reverse Happy Hour prices on Sunday, and flexibility in taking to-go requests. Food is awesome, so is service: 5 stars definitely
Sushi was awesome and so was the atmosphere! Will definitely be back!
We had a great time! I had to modify my reservation twice due to people backing out and then not, but the Hiro 88 staff couldn't have been more understanding about it, even though they were so very busy!
As always, food was amazing, selection is great and we love the atmosphere. Staff was super friendly as well.
Went here for a date night. Lighting made the place feel more crowded and seating was very close together. Service and food were good.
Everything was awesome. Had plenty of food for leftovers. Thank you.
We had a nice dinner with our 7 month grandson. In between tables was a little tight for high chair and other guest.
EXCELLENT SERVICE AND FRESH SUSHI!
Out of the 4 of us, I was the only person that actually thought their food was good. The other 3 were 'meh' and 'it was ok'. We were NOT in the main dining area, but rather what one of us described as "the ball pit at McDonalds". Lot's of kids sitting all around us and a very noisy room.
Our server was so sweet. She knew a lot about the menu and gave us lots of time to chat and decide
We had a great dinner and good time at the bar. Darrien did great, as usual. We will be back.
This was the best sushi that we've had in a long time and was on par with West Coast sushi. Highly recommend.
Waiter was wonderful !! Food came out on a good time.
everything was great and we enjoyed ourselves. Thanks for always being consisten.
Got to-go at the end of the meal — the server took the order at the beginning, unlike some other places I’ve been to, so it was great — I wasn’t inebriated yet :)
We have great food. We had Lauren and she does a great job! Of course, we will see you soon.
Food quality was really bad.
Bacon Rangoon was great, Gung pao chicken, not to my liking
Excellent food, outstanding service, very reasonably priced. As usual, a very reliable choice.
Great Food and Fantastic Service. We are always anxious to return to Hiro to dine again.
Our waitress was pleasant and patient with our slight indecision. My friend and I split an assortment of small plates. Shishito peppers, baby bok choy (my favorite part of the meal), scallion pancakes (right texture, but needed more scallions), and edamame were all good. I ordered a “what a mess roll” and it was decent enough, however if I were to ever order it again I would request less unagi sauce. It made the whole roll a tad too sweet.
My only complaint was not of the service, the menu variety, the waitstaff or majority of our meal— and I’m sure I’ll return to either location. I’m not entirely certain that this even qualifies as a complaint, but more of a “well, huh, that’s definitely not what I expected” moment.
I ordered the “steamed buns” which were to be with pork belly and by all accounts it was pork belly I received. Yet, for anyone who has ever had a standard/traditional/whatever steamed bun or bao, you have a certain expectation of what it looks and tastes like- fluffy, doughy, with a bit of bounce to it. This...this was an interesting take on a steamed bun in that it had been fried to a greasy, golden brown. It kind of looked like a toasty Madeleine cookie. Nestled inside were chunks of (mostly fat— okay, so that was a bummer) pork belly. What would’ve been better was if the consistency of the bun itself and the pork belly had been in reverse. Doughy bun with crispy pieces of pork. The real kicker was the slice of dill pickle in each “bao.” I repeat: DILL. PICKLE.
I ate it, as it technically was edible and I’m not a wasteful person. And I certainly wasn’t about to complain after clearing most of that dish. Did it spoil my meal? Absolutely not. I had a great evening stuffing my face and catching up with a friend. But was it one of the oddest interpretations of a steamed bun I’ve ever encountered? 100%
Delicious food. A little pricey, but worth it. Drinks are also fantastic.
Was not at all the servers fault but it was very slow all the way around.
Everything was great and we enjoyed our meal. Always happy to go to Hiros!
We had a wonderful Mother’s Day dinner and Mackenzie was a fantastic server on this busy day!
Great service, great food! Our waiter was helpful and friendly.
Everything was perfect. We enjoyed our visit and the food.
Good birthday sushi. Great happy hour pricing. Attentive service.
It was way too noisy for our special occasion then was desired. A bit of a delay with wait service at times.
Always love going to Hiro, whether for lunch, dinner, or drinks. Great place and terrific food.
The food was great. Service with Lauren was perfect. We enjoyed our evening.
