Hidalgo’s Cocina & Cócteles
I would only go back for drinks and nachos. The restaurant needs better food options.
Super yummy food and omg the Margaritassss!
Hidalgo’s is the place you go when you want to forget a stressful day, romantic date, met up with friends, a celebration. When I’m there I feel like I’m at a Mexican resort enjoying a fabulous margarita!! The nighttime sky above with the lights just gives you a feeling of relaxation and calm. It’s simply gorgeous! The fountain, the California mural and music in the background.
Service: service is extraordinary!!! I love how attentive they are. Give great suggestions when you’re undecided, and just genuine people who want to make sure your visit is the best!
Eileen and Damian are wonderful as well as the rest of the staff.
Drinks!!! OMG!!!! I love every drink they make! Made to perfection! The bartenders do an OUTSTANDING job! If you want an authentically great margarita! Go to Hidalgo’s!
None of that super sweet fake stuff that’s in your chain restaurant margaritas.
Food! Yummmmy! Carnitas nachos are THE BEST!!!
All the food...again... made to perfection!
I saw a post of the Lobster Eggs Benedict on Instagram and had to have it. My husband and I drove to Fullerton from Rancho Cucamonga, and it didn't disappoint! The outside eating area was very nice. We were greeted by a friendly hostess and our server, Stephanie, was kind, very polite, and attentive. We ordered the Chorizo Fundido appetizer and it was really good. We both ordered the Lobster Eggs Benedict and it was delicious! It came with a side of potatoes and they were incredible too. To top it all off, Stephanie did a perfect job of making sure I never ran out of champagne! We left feeling happy that we tried Hidalgo's, it was so worth the drive.
It was great ! Great customer service
Saw this restaurant on Open Table and was excited to try it based off the pictures online which looked so good. We were seated pretty quickly but Service was too slow. Anything we ordered would come late with the server apologizing each time he came to our table. We ordered a variety of things from the menu hoping to catch at least one thing that would be our first favorite from this establishment but it looks like many of the plates we saw online no longer are on the menu must be due to covid damn covid. The chips and salsa were a great way to get us going but the chips were overly salted to the point where we would have to scrape off each single chip before dipping it in the sauce. Our appetizer was some sort of Seafood plate that was mainly shrimp. It would have been good if the cook had not drenched it in lime juice. My main plate which was enchiladas de pollo with green sauce also could have been great if it was not for the green sauce which tasted like nothing but like juice. Who puts lime juice on enchiladas?? Was this cook lime juice crazy this night? I don’t know but totally ruined my first time here. The tortillas used for the enchiladas are the thicker type maybe they should soften the tortilla before serving it as mine was hard and chewy in some areas and got to the point where I just pulled the chicken out instead. My +1 did say her tacos were good. I’m pretty sure that would be my first and only time visiting. The sitting was nice outside until it starts smelling foul from maybe the sewer??
We had a lovely first time experience! Their cocktails were creative and delicious, and their food was yummy beautifully presented. I thought the Mole Enchiladas was just OK, but the Queso Fundido and Chips & Salsa were good. The decor and ambiance is super cute! So happy they are now open for dine-in! The are doing their part in following all CDC guidelines. My dining companions felt safe and the customer service was wonderful and friendly. We will definitely return!
For the price of the food you would expect it to be a lot better I was not impressed with any of it I chicken tacos were almost terrible I ordered a Hildago quesadilla figured it would be something pretty good it was a cheese quesadilla not impressed with this place in all
We had an early reservation to avoid crowds during Covid. We were greeted and offered indoor/outdoor dining. Our temperatures were taken and offered hand sanitizer. We chose outdoor in the courtyard. Our table was comfortable and service was good. Food choices and bar selection was also good. We were not rushed and enjoyed our meals. My husband chose carnitas tacos and I had the chicken enchiladas. Good value, good food, and Covid friendly. We will be back soon.
Ambiance was amazing! Beautiful outdoor patio, secluded, and minimal noise. Service was great and very accommodating to my family. Unfortunately, the food was not very good. The drinks were great but my meal was very dry, bland, and simply disappointing. Other than the food, the experience was great.
I’m understanding about a lot of businesses being short staffed for covid. But I honestly feel like you might as well limit the amount of parties you’re serving if you can’t handle each table. This was the first time I ever had to send my food back and I’m glad they took it off my bill. My free bday dessert was flan and it was really hard. I’d say the positives would be the tequila shots we ordered they were big. The ambiance was pretty. But as for the service and quality of food. It was disappointing. No one from my party enjoyed their food. I’d say the street corn app was the only good thing we ordered.
If you want to feel like you have trekked to another country for just a night. The atmosphere at Hidalgo is just for you. You dine surrounded by tropical plants in a Latin American themed courtyard. One of our favorites.
Celebrated my wedding anniversary and specifically picked this place for their romantic open court dining and cocktails. Was very nice!
The service was good, the food was weak, our quesadilla was greasy, the guacamole was supremely bland, and the chicharron tasted plain, almost like a wafer. I am Mexican, and s sadly it's hard not to know what REAL mexican food should taste like, prices are high for the quality of food and taste.
The food is good but not the flavors you would expect from a Mexican restaurant. Unique but just not appetizing.
The manager went above and beyond and got the outside lights hooked up for us. It was starting to get dark and it totally set the mood. We had a great time, we went for my birthday with my wife and some close friends.
Amazing food and service! I would definitely come back.
Wonderful and safe outdoor experience. Attended by Sara with attention to detail and recommendations for the menu. Generous Happy Hour time and free flowing chips and homemade salsa. All in all a delightful “first” experience.
The service here was amazing! Our server knew the menue so well and offered the best selections. I can’t wait to
Come back again soon!
Great drinks and food. Great service and the patio was set up nicely
El surviving no me gusto solo fueron a dejes las comidas y ya no llegaron a preguntar si necesitabamos algo mas y muy caro para la poquita comida q dieron definitivamente no mengusto
Eating here was a great experience. The food was delighted and the drinks were phenomenal. Great service and all around had a wonderful time
Indoor dining was closed but they set up tables in the patio. It was a great night for outdoor dining and the food was delicious and the service was great.
IT was a beautiful outdoor setting and the food and service were great!
REALLY REALLY slow service. The drinks were not bad. Food was ultra salty. Luke warm.
The food was fantastic and the service was wonderful. Thank you Hidalgo’s!
It was nice i went for a date night. My boyfriend got the wet burrito forsure the best item on the menu with green sauce. Sat outside and it was really nice. Would return. Also really enjoyed the white wine sangria.
Delicious food,... and great customer service. Will definitely come back soon!!! ☺️
Great place and clean made me feel comfortable with covid and reopeninig
Quick service, reasonably priced and Delicious food. Cute place for a date or just lunch/ dinner with friends. Love that you can dress casual or dressy casual.
Quite a bargain for the type of food quality and service offered. Loved that casual dress is common among the diners even on Valentine's Day. I had the excellent filet mignon and my wife had the nopales tacos, both were delicious as well as the pan dulce "ice cream" sandwich dessert. This is our new favorite place in Downtown Fullerton.
Wonderful dinner with former work colleagues. The service was excellent from from the time we arrived. The house margarita, which I had during happy hour, was only $6 and one of the best I’ve ever had. I had the short rib and goat cheese enchiladas and they were excellent.
Our food was cold, even the soup and the ceviche was beyond salty. The menu is very small as well and not very creative. The waitress was so sweet, but when we told her her about our food being cold, all they offered was a free drink. Very disappointed, will not go back.
Loved the food, the service, and the ambience. I would highly recommend and will definitely go back.
Excellent ambiance, everything,
Food, and our server Hannah was absolutely amazing, she is fantastic! Thank you!
Our entrees were delicious. Service was great. We are definitely going back soon.
Night out with the wife
The staff was friendly and the food was good. We had the taco Tuesday special which was nice, but my boyfriend had to order a second one to get enough food. It would be great if there was an a la carte option to add rice or another side with the taco special.
